- This mini-documentary helps uncover the lore behind Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader by showing you a glimpse of Laser Burn, a little-known sci-fi miniature game from the early 1980s, and how its mechanics, artwork, and grim-dark themes inspired the legendary world of Warhammer 40K.
From the now familiar ‘Bolt Gun’ to iconic character archetypes, Laser Burn introduced elements that would go on to shape Games Workshop’s most famous creation. Whether you’re a Warhammer 40K fanatic, a tabletop gaming enthusiast, or a lover of sci-fi lore, this documentary sheds a little light on the critical role Laser Burn played in establishing the universe we know today.
I never saw such a good look at Laser Burn! Incredible. 👍
I love all my Rogue Trader & 2nd Ed era models I have.. Mainly Space Marines, some Space Crusade and R.T/2nd Ed Nids.. 1 or 2 Imperial Guard models and a few of the other models. I have some of all the exo suits, the 2 female adventurer models, Chaos Toilet etc
My favourite models would be all the RTB01 marines I have and the 4 LE2 Imperial Space Marines I've aquired over the years
Love seeing those old figures. Good memories. Thank you for a great channel
Thank you! I was sure there are others out there who played this before 40k….we are planning a game to use the Imperial Commander rules in December, we will certainly post a report on that
Definitely keen to see those grav tanks get finished up! Awesome insight into the history of 40K though. Love that old design aesthetic
Those grav tanks will be getting a lot of love soon, I promise!
That's awesome!
Is cool to see the roots of our hobby
Thank you!
Those hover craft are pretty cool, man, well done. And those imperial army troopers looked nice, too. Real eager to see what else you can find in your loft, should be a real treat. See you next time.
@@username12120 thank you! I know there should be more to find…
This is awesome to see. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching, we are planning to post an imperial Commander game / battle report at some point
Looks like those electric wheel motors were inspired by LeTourneau land trains from the 50s.
It’s a small world! I was reading about them recently but didn’t look into the propulsion system, thanks for your comment, I’ve gone back and read the article properly now!

I have been doing a bit of research and while some of these look genuine, I think some are just general sci-fi ‘pirates’ - so sorry if a have misled anyone, but they do look the part, I hope you find the gang at an affordable price…..
