    Lyrics
Trapped in a prism, in a prism of light
Alone in the darkness, darkness of white
We fell in love, alone on a stage
    In the reflective age
Entre la nuit, la nuit et l'aurore
Entre les royaumes, des vivants et des morts
    If this is heaven
    I don't know what it's for
If I can't find you there
    I don't care
I thought, I found a way to enter
    It's just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor)
I thought, I found the connector
    It's just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor)
Now, the signals we send, are deflected again
We're still connected, but are we even friends?
We fell in love when I was nineteen
And I was staring at a screen
Entre la nuit, la nuit et l'aurore
Entre les voyants, les vivants et les morts
    If this is heaven
    I need something more
Just a place to be alone
    'Cause you're my home
I thought, I found a way to enter
    It's just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor)
I thought, I found the connector
    It's just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor)
    Just a reflektor
    It's just a reflektor
    (It's just a reflektor)
    It's just a reflektor
    (It's just a reflektor)
    It's just a reflektor
    (It's just a reflektor)
    Reflektor (Just a reflektor)
(Just a reflektor) Just a reflektor
(Just a reflektor) Just a reflektor (reflektor)
    (Just a reflektor)
    (Just a reflektor)
(Just a reflektor, just a reflektor)
(Just a reflektor, just a reflektor)
Just a reflection, of a reflection
Of a reflection, of a reflection, of a reflection
Will I see you on the other side? (Just a reflektor)
We all got things to hide (Just a reflektor)
    It's just a reflection of a reflection
Of a reflection, of a reflection, of a reflection
Will I see you on the other side? (Just a reflektor)
We all got things to hide (Just a reflektor)
    Alright, let's go back
Our song escapes, on little silver discs
Our love is plastic, we'll break it to bits
I want to break free, but will they break me?
Down, down, down, don't mess around
I thought, I found a way to enter
    It's just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor)
I thought, I found the connector
    It's just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor)
    It's just a reflektor
    It's just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor)
    It's just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor)
    It's just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor)
Thought you would bring me to the resurrector
Turns out it was just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor)
Thought you would bring to me the resurrector
Turns out it was just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor)
Thought you would bring to me the resurrector
Turns out you were just a reflektor
    It's just a reflektor (It's just a reflektor)
    (It's just a reflektor) Just a reflektor
    Just a reflektor
    Just a reflektor
    Just a reflektor
Will I see you on the other side?
    It's just a reflektor
Will I see you on the other side? (reflektor)
We all got things to hide (reflektor)
    Just a reflektor
Will I see you on the other side?

Do people actually understand and comprehend the fact that David Bowie literally one of the greatest music stars of our time was so humble enough to sing a few lines on this track with no credit just because he liked the track! The world is a poorer place without people like that.

When I first heard this song I thought it was repetitive and way too long. But the more I listened, the more I realized that it was an absolute masterpiece. It rises, it falls, it changes, it transforms. It gets quiet and it gets loud, and if you put headphones on you can hear every little sound and vocal that just add to this incredible experience. I can't always get the hate from people towards this whole album. This album is the definition of what one of the best bands in world should do - pioneering, experimenting and innovating! The infusion of 70s,80s disco, electronica, dance punk (yah! when you know James Murphy was on the main producers list), twisted synthesizing and also the core of Arcade Fire themselves together with their long-standing interpretations of aesthetics, life and death. This was one of their best works, in fact, all 4 LPs were equally brilliant to me.

    About Bowie participation, from Wikipedia:
Richard Reed Parry noted, "It was just after The Next Day had come out. He basically just came by the studio in New York while we were mixing, just to have a listen to the stuff we were doing. He offered to lend us his services because he really liked the song. In fact, he basically threatened us - he was like, 'If you don't hurry up and mix this song, I might just steal it from you!' So we thought, well why don't we go one better, why don't you sing on our version? Thankfully he obliged, and we were really happy about that."

That quote makes it sound like the band weren't fans, didn't want him on, sad, thang is son, Bowie was dying of cancer, was on his mind, he would've featured his voice for free on any poppy piece of crap just to be nice and leave more of himself in this world, could be wrong, but hell, if Bowie asked to be on my song I'd have him sing more than 1 super short line more than 2 times. But hopefully the quote is just the dude bragging, meaning he is a fan.

It is a very well done song, the structure, the production, reflektor really isn’t a bad album at all I think people just don’t like the change in style and their attempts to dull down their musics intent to a more commercially radio friendly pop audience. It is understandable that this would polarize fans, a lot who were more into their first 3 more indie rock albums but The Suburbs really made the band blow up and start to change, that’s what happens in the music industry

Arcade Fire seems to be one of the few modern bands David Bowie 'adopted' and reflected his ideals/artistry. I sincerely think that if he were to live on in anyone's music outside of his own, it would be Arcade Fire's. He loved them so much and they lost a mentor today. Prayers for them and, of course, for David's family.

I think what makes this song/video brilliant is that its constantly building, building, creating more and more tension, building but never really quite gets resolved and I admire that they dont ever really spell out a meaning or explain anything in any way. modern day abstract art in music and video done effortlessly
