Love Diana Krall. As you said she is a fantastic vocalist in addition to her piano skills. Dionne Warwick had a huge hit with this back in the 60s. I believe this was a Burt Bacharach composition. Thanks for your reaction to this. 👏👏🇨🇦🇨🇦

Love love sultry Diana Krall. She has a huge library of songs, with her unique but lovable style. She is definitely the epitome of grace and elegance, and very jazzy. My favourite is, The Look Of Love.

Harri, congratulations on finding the best jazz singer in the business. She's been around about 25 years. She's very popular with other singers, she even held her wedding to Elvis Costello at Elton John's mansion

Born and raised in Nanaimo, British Columbia. She does mostly covers of old jazz tunes
but with her own twist. Lovely, sultry voice and even better piano skills. For more of her
try "Devil May Care", "East of the Sun", "Popsicle Toes" and "Straighten Up and Fly Right".

I like Diana Krall a lot, she has great talent. I hadn't heard her version before, and I am thankful you reacted to it. The popular version by Dionne Warwick is great, and fun to sing along with, Diana's version is more real, if you pay attention to the story the song is telling. Dionne's version is upbeat and snappy; after the breakups in my life, I felt far more like that which Diana's version evokes. Dionne's version was more dismissing of the ex, kind of snapping her fingers and telling them to just walk on by. Diana's version has the true heartache of a breakup, the open wound not wanting the salt of having to pretend to be happy in order to save a little face. Great song, great reaction!

@@SK-lk3iu That's the great thing about music, different covers have different impacts on the listener. Dionne's version is great on a sunny day when my confidence is up. When I am heartbroken I look for solace in songs from Dianna's camp!

Another great live Brazilian performance is singer/pianist Tanya Maria's "Come With Me" from 1983. (found on Geepereet channel). She's an amazing scat singer, but, does the keys so well. I love the Latin sound and her diva attitude!

Love Diana Krall's voice and music. She has a well deserved place in music history.
Harri, would love to see you react to another Canadian jazz singer who hasn't got that same international recognition but still an incredible talent, Holly Cole. Her rendition of "I Can See Clearly Now" is brilliant. I'd love to recommend her playful version of "Slow Boat to China" but amazingly, it isn't on the UA-cams (!!).

Diana is like Karen Carpenter who was a drummer who sang, and Diana is a pianist who sings. Love Diana (and Karen) especially live. There is a recording on CD and DVD of her performing in Paris 2002 I think.
Michael Parkinson is a great fan of Diana and he introduced her to the UK on his chat show.

Diana Krall's albums are fantastic, but hearing her live is the true treat, because she has free rein to show off her piano-playing chops. That's cool that Paulo Roberto "Paulinho" Da Costa is a close neighbour of yours! I hope you check out more of Krall's stuff (live or studio). _Boulevard of Broken Dreams_ and any live performance of Joni Mitchell's _A Case of You_ are recommended.
