- After dropping off a big ledge on a recovery earlier in the day, me and Mike noticed the shifters moving more than they should. We got out and looked to see the transmission adapter had snapped at the mounting pedestal. We realized it was still together and could be driven so we strapped it down and kept going on the recovery. The next day we decided to tear into it and start the repairs. Took a couple days as we jest kept fixing things we've been neglecting. Really happy with all the repairs and upgrades we got done. Once again she is all back together and back to work. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

I really like the shop repair videos. Congratulations to Mike on his promotion to safety director for Moab Motorsports.
It shows how well built Trailmater actually is, because your not constantly doing repair work to it, after all the hard work that Trailmater gets put through.
I love how when you break something, you assess the damage and make it more than twice as strong the second time so it won’t break again. Simple problems require simple solutions. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. If it is broke, use quarter inch plate and more welds :)
I have just realised the Trail Mater slogan is one I first heard about 60 years ago - "The impossible we do straight away. Miracles take a little longer."
Trailmater is what experience and craftmanship becomes in the hands of a skilled operator and crew.

Been to Moab twice with SxS from Gillette Wyoming. Love watching all the recoveries, with no drama or hyped suspense in videos. Thank you Rory and your awesome crew. Beautiful country! Can't wait to go back.

It amazes me how solid your business plan is. After building an off road recovery wrecker you know every part and piece, and continue to come up with better, stronger upgrades. The equipment and skills you have makes MOAB off roading a better, safer sport.

I'm always impressed by how well trailmater holds up under stress. It's built and maintained within an inch of the edge.. a fine balance of power, flexibility and weight distribution.. with a generous helping of driver skill.

I am looking forward the the tow truck olympics, but I can't help feeling that Trail Mater will run away with all of the gold medals. After all it is the seasoned veteran against two untested new tow rigs and a diesel rig.

The advantage you have is that you are actually out there doing recoveries. The control with the front dig for example... You know exactly what to expect because of the millions of hours you have driving that rig. You guys should make an event where the drivers drive each others rigs to showcase the driver skill as well.

Wow 150 views 2 minutes after posting. You have been ready for the tow truck Olympics for a long time. I think it will boil down to the skill of the operator and familiarity with the equipment. As a friend of mine says, you got this. Thanks for another great video.
Love that you include this, people forget if you use something regardless of maintenance and brand, stuff gets tired and breaks, even a toyota FJ 40 that's engineered for 300k miles for every little part will eventually suffer the same fate.

Hmm. Off-road Wrecker Olympics? I thoroughly enjoy Matt and Paul and what they do, but you, Rory, and Trailmater understand each other. Your “technique” operating her is like she’s an extension of your right arm. You and she will be hard to beat. Mikey and Sean are like having a couple of extra big toes. Nobody can compete with that! Thank you.
Years back I was working at a Hollywood Studio in the FX Shop, my friend was over at the Apex Grinder and I overheard the Department head say to him " Do you like working here---where are your Safety Glasses". Just a thought for you all, and Happy Holidays!!
What blows my mind with Trailmater is how well built the rig is with a lot of modified stock parts. No Atlas transfer or custom axles or anything crazy to speak of. But it's proven time and time again to be tough as nails and very reliable. Heck the front axle isn't even trussed. It's a great reminder that you don't have to throw $30,000 at a rig to have something extremely capable. It helps that Rory knows how to drive that rig as well. Love seeing videos like this, as it gives me a little more insight and gets new ideas rolling for when I get around to building a rig.
