I grew up across the road from a stone house like this, that also had 2 fireplaces, and it had been moved a mile, including up a fairly steep hill, pulled by horses. The owner found it remarkable that the chimneys never cracked.
I love mobile home videos. It’s always cool to see how people setup their mobile homes for long trips, and the types of compromises made to enjoy life on the road.
This video reminds me of the eight-story Bell Building in Indianapolis, Indiana which was moved in 1930. A great masterpiece. Great job. Thanks for sharing. I subscribed to the channel.
impressive, future generations should appreciate the effort, skill and tech to save such a building, the old saying,"they don't build'em like that anymore" rings true because we can't afford to,well done, thankyou.R.
for some reason it looks really funny giant stone house with hundreds of little wheels and tiny engine mounts on the back 😂 is one heck of an operation
Nice job done very carefully. I ahve seen this done before. Now there is no excuse to demolish historic and beautiful houses for road improvements. Just move the house or tree a little.
My house was built in 1910’s or so and moved in the 40’s.. When I bought it in 2018 from someone who lived in it from the 60’s. The house was sagging in the middle 3 inches. And when they would remodel and they would square the ceilings So when I went to jack the house, the floor is getting leveled but the ceilings bowing 🙄
The beams directly under the stonework will be part of the footings now, I guess. Stands put under them, the bogie suspension lowered, the bogies wheeled out then the concrete poured.
Good question, Tony, but it's been 4 years, and I don't recall about this one. They move gently, on rubber tires, so can be moved with most furniture in place, but it should be covered so as to not get dusty when tearing off out-buildings etc.
Ha ha ha - you don't remember the cost of moving it!!! The most important thing!!! MONEY! Stan,,.... you're unbelievable... why did you posted this video then?
Hey interesting but show us the real and whole thing pls I want to see how these tyres came to be under the building and how they were removed hope it's not camera trick!!!!

I have chosen 0,5 speed for the first part and 0,75 speed for the second part, so I saw it at the normal speed. That's much more pleasant; I don't understand why you made the video in 2,0 and 1,5 speed.
Are the walls are not connected with the old fundament/basement? And damage the transport the walls? And how do they set down the house from vehicle? what cost the transfer of a house? that is what me interested.
Someone should have explained what the point of moving a house was. Amazing though it is to witness, it is a bit of a silly idea. The cost of moving might actually be a lot more than the cost of building a new house on site.
@@johnfenn only if you have Lot's of it... He should've just popped the House on to 50 Tescos trollies and pushed them Hahahahaa. "every little helps" 😆
Sometimes they have to move because of zoning, or neighborhood changes, but if I remember right with this one they just wanted to be farther from the road, back with a new stone barn they made to match.

Hats off to engineer
Great Job. The Lord certainly blessed these people with a talent and success
Pretty incredible feat- fine looking building too
Amazing talent to move such a structure.
You didn’t show how it was lifted up and down!! However hats off to such a marvellous job
They are preserving an object of beauty and antique value. Profit or loss -- doesn't matter !
What a beautiful house !!!!
Bewundernswert ,solche Leistung !

How much it cost that moving?

DIS HOUSE HAS SHO GON' CRAZY!
Only after three months of planning, engineering, permitting and the five week construction of the new foundation.
Great that they moved a fine old building. It did not sit well with the buildings it was attached to.
круто они это все сделали! Молодцы🤗🤗🤗

I was hoping to see the hard part - getting the house on and off the I-beams.
its cind of cool to watch.. but not very difficult if you do it right.
but it would be a longer video to see all. hehe

Now that's what I call a house on wheels!
7 hours to move.. and weeks to months to be prepared to be moved

He doesn't remember because he' doesn't want to say. Over $50K with the new foundation
Actually, I was just the photographer, and I have no idea what it cost them. But I'm sure it's more than I would want to pay!

Imagine you are taking a nap all of the sudden your house starts moving.

You say good evening to one neighbour and you have a new neighbour the very next morning to greet.

I'd like to k now why they had to move this beautiful home from it's original location?

The cost of home shifting would have been a new home in such a cost

For some people cost does not matter. Maybe they like the house. And maybe it is protected as an historic building. Not everything is about money.

You won't see this coming when your neighbour is telling he is moving.
The important point is : how to lift up the building level , that it has been not shown .
Those dollies self level Bro.
you can learn a lot from Europa heavy transport

Completely necessary.
Maybe in a 100 years the New Owners will move it to another location several hundred yards?
How much would this cost
Where is it?
