Appreciate the trip to the parts yard Mike. My old man ( RIP Pop's😔) would take me with him as a kid. Good memories & I could spend hours just looking threw old cars 🎬🚘🔥👍. 🫡
I hear you. Prices are insane. They take all the fun out of working on old beater cars. I’m tired of being nickeled and dimed by them. It wasn’t always like that. I think they have new owners and are desperate to recoup
Odometer breaking is a very common problem on these cars (maintenance records show mine has stopped 3 times with it's previous owner lol), I've heard it tends to happen when you press the button to reset the trip odometer. You're correct that it's a gear, you can get them for pretty cheap online. Not sure what the process is like to replace it though. You can see the true mileage in the ECU with your scanner. Been really enjoying these videos. I wrecked my 850 recently and the videos have kept me sane while desperately trying to find the parts to get it back on the road without selling a kidney lol
I used to love going to LKQ but since PYP took over the prices are ridiculous. Even the people working the counters say that they have seen a big drop in customers and they also say the prices are the issue. They even try to help you out when they can so it's obvious its not the individual stores that are the problem, it corporate. I used to go there once a week if not more, now I might go there once in 3 months and that's if I have no other option. In some cases you can buy from retailers at the same price. Now they are just another greedy company out to F the very people that made them possible.✌
Progress is progress Mike 😊 , now it's just the brakes to sort out and the Speedo. As for the brakes they just need a good clean probably but brake pads do go off and become hard which causes poor stopping and vibration. Lola looks stunning and I'm sure she's happy to see you again 😊. Laters chuckles. Gary 🇬🇧🇬🇧
You need to break hard a few times (from 70 miles an hour) that will clean the rotors. And now you need to take it out on the highway. These volvo's are FAST. And great great driving cars.
Abs is kicking on likely have a speed sensor that is reading on the slow side so when you're close to being stopped it hit 0mph and the abs thinking its locked so cycles the system
Love Lola's new summer cut! I'm sure she will appreciate it as I remember those hot and humid days in Tulsa when I went to school there. If you take her in for a teeth cleaning, that will help with her breath. It has helped with my dog's breath. Great job on the videos! Keep 'em coming! Oh! What ever happened with the bronz Biemer? Did it end up back at Copart?
I was going to say, usually if you have rear sensor codes in a 96-79 850, its usually the solders inside the ABS module have broken loose, then I saw the eaten wires!
That noise you're hearing sounds like the Volvo's ABS pump. Usually, it only activates during braking when one (or more) tires lose traction. Might be another thing to add to your list to investigate......
Good to see you Mike! Fighting the joys of Volvo AWD myself right now on my cheap XC70. Overall really good solid cars though. But our 2004 Saab 95 is a nicer drive. Take care 👍
Without even watching the video yet. The abs problem could be the module. Super common on p80s. Check out Midwest abs. They specialize in p80 abs modules. They rebuild them and send them out to you. Then you send your old one back to them. $150
I’ve been referring to LKQ as “scumbag LKQ” for how greedy they have become. They charge as much if not more than new and online prices(not everything). Recently tried to charge me $35 on a ball mount for a trailer hitch while I can buy a NEW one at Walmart for $25-$35! I left it on the counter and walked out 🤬😡
Hi Mike !! I think $30 for 4 genuine Volvo connectors seems like a deal to me. Especially if it fixes the gremlins of the car that have been fighting u. I wouldn’t wanna know what the dealer would charge if they even have them for sale anymore.
hey Mike your abs sensors have rust on them causing the abs to activate at a stop or while slowing down . . your gonna have to pull out all abs sensors and clean them all and check to make sure the tone ring is not cracked /split
Holy Rip Off Bat Man! AKA Monkey Wrench Mike, AKA the fixer of all things electrical! Thats way too expensive for the connector. Next time, let me know and I will go to our pull a part, Locos Gringos, in Tyler Tx to get your stuff! Including shipping, I bet I could have cut that price to a 3rd!!!
Haters are going to hate. Fans, let's gather here and show some love to this exceptional UA-camr.
That price is insane!!!! Woah!! 😳
Lola is your biggest fan. She is a sweetheart.
Lola looks like a miniature grayhound sans tail. 😊
💪🏻👊🏻🇧🇷🪿🪿🪿

Lola is a special pup, she really loves her pops !
She needs an Italian tune up!
I quit going to LKQ also after Covid they basically doubled their prices.
Last video before the Volvo road trip! Love the series
I hear you. Prices are insane. They take all the fun out of working on old beater cars. I’m tired of being nickeled and dimed by them.
It wasn’t always like that. I think they have new owners and are desperate to recoup
You can't tell us about the car Randy bought but show us a picture of it with him in it 😂😂😂😂
Oh yeah another Volvo video!!!
pull a part has got high on prices but it's still cheaper than the parts stores or dealerships but I feel you those plugs used to be damn near free
Lola looks so beautiful with her new dew. Well you are making great progress with the wagon she a good old girl.
Give the Volvo an Italian tune-up, Lola looks great 👍

Hi Mike, We can't hear or see the Dock anymore. hope she hasn't been cooked fry.
He’s still around
@@MonkeyWrenchMikeHe’s so quiet in his cage lol 😂

I have ABS problems too.. the ones on my stomach arent there anymore lol
Check the dealer for new ones with less aggravation
Love the volvo. It reminds me of my 1990 volvo 240 wagon back in the days. Thanks for sharing MWM

I still enjoyed the video even if you forgot what the content was about goober! 😂

Lola is such a good girl. Please take her for rides every day.
Thank you for doing a Volvo video!
I Love Lola's new haircut, great job on the car.
That "bruuup" noise every time you hit the brakes is air in the ABS pump, my Toyota Sienna used to do that
Abs is kicking on likely have a speed sensor that is reading on the slow side so when you're close to being stopped it hit 0mph and the abs thinking its locked so cycles the system
thats smart to add protection to those abs cables
LKQ IS ALWAYS SO EXPENSIVE
Where is the duck??? Love her quaking😊
Love Lola's new summer cut! I'm sure she will appreciate it as I remember those hot and humid days in Tulsa when I went to school there. If you take her in for a teeth cleaning, that will help with her breath. It has helped with my dog's breath.

Nice volvo 850

Had a Old English Sheepdog growing up, she loved the winter coat, and the summer buzz. Great content.
Lola's trim looks good Mike 👍👍
Give Lola those Greenies. Cleans teeth keeps breath fresh. 🐕🦺🙈
Great stuff MWM
Good job Mike 😎😎👍👍 so glad you got the ABS system straight 👏👏
3:23 that's a rip off.... my God
Great video. Love Lola's haircut! Almost up to 55k subscribers, too.
I love Lola, Mike you should give her her own channel along with the duck 🦮🦆 call it the dog and duck adventures 🤣🤣
Any content is great Mike, Lola looks great 👍
That noise you're hearing sounds like the Volvo's ABS pump. Usually, it only activates during braking when one (or more) tires lose traction. Might be another thing to add to your list to investigate......
👍🏻 beautiful haircut, Lola
Most of the time those go into peoples pocket and they walk out. LOL
You are the man Mike.
Good to see you Mike! Fighting the joys of Volvo AWD myself right now on my cheap XC70. Overall really good solid cars though. But our 2004 Saab 95 is a nicer drive. Take care 👍

Do not open the ABS connector without a reason, unbolt the whole sensor instead. Unplug it only if it’svery easy coming off, but that’s not usual.
I’ve been referring to LKQ as “scumbag LKQ” for how greedy they have become.

Mike, take us (the camera) with you when you use the OBD.
Monkey Wrench Has Volvo 850 Estate Rolling Again Very Well
Ecu will tell you the mileage, plug into with your reader.
I don’t think you missed the curb. I think you hit it squarely lol 🎯
You forgot the purpose of the video because of those high prices. They fried your brain. 😁. OMG! That Eldo! Looks like Randy scored with that!

Great video, work and hope you are getting this car right😀
Love an 850
The Volvo just needs the MWM touch. A winner.
Good video. Where’s the duck?
Great where is the duck?😂
We want Benzo.
He's in time out for too much quacking 😅
Where is the ducks
Mike!!! You need to learn the golden rule of junkyarding... always leave with full pockets! Haha that is highway robbery.
How about doing a road trip with randy in his red 850 sedan when they are fixed?
Is Lola home from boot camp? Nice trim!
Worm gears in the speedometer gauge ford ranger Mazda B3000 has problem plastics rotten
Nice video Mke Keep it up...
850’s are notorious for breaking the odometer.
We watch for lola
Lola said she's a princess
hey Mike where is the duck is he still around
What happened to your duck.
Your trip odometer isn't working, but the mileage odometer shows 123,981 miles.
Thirty bucks for four connectors doesn't seem bad to me considering they're probably that much each new. Wow, and I thought I was cheap! LOL
just pressed play ?? where's the rest of the dog??? lol
hey Mike your abs sensors have rust on them causing the abs to activate at a stop or while slowing down . . your gonna have to pull out all abs sensors and clean them all and check to make sure the tone ring is not cracked /split
The gears is 30 bucks
God video 😀
Where is Benzo!!!! FREE BENZO THE UNLUCKY DUCK!!! She needs a ride in the TURDO wagon
Steve Austin? WOW showing your age there Mike.
Great not to have the duck quacking all the time
There are a number of Volvo parts also found on exotically expensive sports cars which are cheap again. 😂
MWM Boss Hogg had a white Eldorado, Boss Randy has a black Eldorado. Where is the duck?
Those harnesses would’ve went right into my toolbox. Sorry not sorry lol $30 is crazy
They’ll probably check your toolbox.
Going in and out of LKQ is like being screened by the TSA😮
They can’t search your person though🤔
❤ kijk graag naar je video's heel leuk 👍👍💪Groetjes aan lola groetjes uit Nederland 😅
Vparts is the place for Volvo parts
Lola your just so beautiful !
