I got the PUMA right after it was moved up to 9.0, after a absolutely horrendous stock grind (16 deaths to 5 kills and like 30 assists when I got the APFSDS), I got the APFSDS and dropped a nuke on my 3rd game with the good belt lmao, not even thermals. It’s still really good, and absolutely fun, I love it! Also, nice video!

Never got a nuke in the game. With the puma I got three in two days (of which I only could drop one, but still)
I think it would be cool if the team points from objectives paused if someone got a nuke until it’s either dropped or the plane is destroyed to just give people the chance to actually drop it at the end of the match
That or just slow the ramp up of the ticket loss. It feels like it speeds up as the game progresses for no reasson

I love how a 30mm apfsds one shot quite often from the side but the one from the aubl hvg do as much damage as a 7.62 bullet

Only started playing this thing after it was moved up, 80% win rate from around 50 games so far... the Bagel, Puma and everything else lineup is so damn good

@@aeri1148 kinda working if you look in xway mode on puma and look at the box below the crew its labelled ammo and for some reason that ammo bellow the crew also blows up but doesn't kill the crew

@@aeri1148 true but all the ammo in that extra ammo box bellow the crew disappears not sure if its a bug or the devs accidentally coded it wrong.
Playing the amx-30 super; this is still pretty hard to kill. Unmanned turret, not autorackable, seemingly full of empty space, gen 2 thermals.
The biggest nerf imo is not the BR increase but that people have learnt how to deal with it now. I've been surviving a lot less now than when it first came out, and people have learnt to shoot the ammo out too a lot.
the issue with it being op from the start was players were too spoiled by gaijin to even try to kill this thing

and gaijin decided to bring its br up 0.7 for a tank thats not even modeled correctly thats insanity
@@CarryPotter007 Not really, this thing couldn't stay at 8.0, its APFSDS is nearly as good as the 9.3 strf 9040b, that thing also completely negated 3 out 6 US tanks at BR 8.0 - 8.7, so no, there was no way it was staying at that BR and everyone knew it, including Gaijin. I mean, honestly compare the LAV-AD to the PUMA, the LAV-AD has crap stingers and incorrectly modelled hyrdas (which is why it's even at 10.0).

I decided to go back and play the M551 Sheridan at the time this released and lets just say that being a lightly armoured and HEAT dependant vehicle against an autocannon weilding, HEAT proof IFV sucks

Honestly it’s annoying that they added constant flairs in the sky in the night battles. Like what’s the point of even having night battles at this point when it’s so bright it hurts to even use NVGs

The Puma is one of the most lethal IFVs in War Thunder, simply because it has such a high survivability and a decent gun. I can't wait for an upgraded version with the MELLS missile system (essentially the Spike LR).
It's not lethal. BMP-2M is far more lethal. The gun on the Puma is comparatively dogshit. Inaccurate, overheats, low post-pen and module damage, as well as low fire rate and no missiles.

The thing with dropping flares. There is a mode for dropping flares like that, called Periodic. Would suggest binding it for aircraft with lots of decoy drops. Just, if you use that mode, remember to set it up to your preference before you jump in
He's spamming spacebar to drop the nuke, not to use flares.
Nuke can only be dropped within a certain range of the battlefield, and thus you spam it to get it off as quickly as possible.
But yeah, flares on periodic is a great thing! If one is doing air a lot, it's a highly required bind if you ask me :)
I got my Puma today and I love the thing. I like being the scouting repair man so being able to do this and have a good gun and AMAZING armor makes me super happy.
couple days ago I saw a BT-5 on my team named "BT5 Leopard killer" and he lived up to his name. Man killed like 3 leopards that game with his BT5.
May he never enter the opposing team in any of my matches, dear lord! It would cause a mental meltdown, im positive of it!

@@hassandabo6288 Yeah same, i main Russia too. But i tend to play a bit of Germany aswell for grinding SL or having some top tier fun. 8.7-9.0 in germany is a SL farming machine with the premiums you can use if you've bought them.
And recently, with the 72M-2 being so spammed, im often playing russia against russia, due to the ammount of russian players being so outrageously many.

I am glad to see players atleast backing up there lineup with low tier vehicles. It's MUCH better to do and if you see something else first you would be surprised by the kills you can get with low tier in a high tier match. The biggest plus is your at least helping out your team by having a full line up and NOT doing the one and out which hurts the top tier gameplay. I say MEGA props to all the players doing this.
The Puma is now at 9.3 same for the Begleitpanzer. And as expected, stock grind is horrendous.

Somehow a puma shot me through my track and exploded my ammo tank in the rear of the tank, from the front, from 500m in my t64a
The PUMA can also kill a TURMS from the front if you shoot in the weakspot under the gun...
this thing is still good. can easily be top 5 in a match with assists with no kills and drop a nuke depends on your team. wish they reduce engine and tracks sounds

I remember playing this game 4 years ago and wrecking shop with flak on tanks and I just started playing again and they definitely nerfed flak on tanks
PUMA + BegleitPanzer + IL-28 with FAB-3000 = Loads of fun.
Puma and begleitpanzer are still super capable at 9.0.

Even at 10.0 now is very fun to play it.
My one major issue with this fucking thing is that whenever I play it I either get my ammo shot immediately or die in like 2 shots

👍. Great channel thanks. A nuub at this interesting game. How do u reload a autoloader after u have shot say 2 out of 4 shots? Had a look through the controls. Couldn’t see reload function/key binding.
If a tank has an autoloader and you want to add more shells to it, you just have to not fire the cannon for a few seconds and then a circle similar to the repair one will appear and will slowly reload shell by shell back into the autoloader but the minute you fire the cannon it reverts back and the crew stops loading shells into the autoloader

Puma has gen 3's in-game.
The puma look nice am only year or two away from getting it got love the silver lion grind
I play this thing with my 10.0 lineup XD
Also, fairly certain those are Gen 3 thermals.
I even have it in my 11.0 Lineup, you should try it if you havent.
It's really good to go full out on early with, to bring in either air or a mbt.
It's gen2 thermals, as written on the wt wiki.
But i can easily understand people confusing it for gen2, as i do think they are on the upper end of gen2 if there are any ends to it?
When compared to gen3's though, it becomes clear it's gen2's.
@@SicknessWin Yeah but they should be gen3 thermals. The ATTICA2 thermals sights are currently one of the best if not the best vehicle mounted thermal sights money can buy. The forums already found the spec sheet and reported it, but it got duely ignored by gajin. Honestly, the should just fix all the broken and wrong shit with the puma and move it up again.

You know as well as me, that they tend to fix things years down the line.
Im actually amazed they did the performance upgrade/downgrade and br change to the bagel.
The PUMA on the other hand, i don't see it changing much in terms of BR, but it might change in terms of the specs on it maybe? With time, as a given.
But to be honest, i would be happy with them not changing much in the TT's, and went on to spend a year on making new maps, or doing rework on the old ones.
Growing tired of having 75-85% of the team sitting behind first hill out of spawn, having a sniperwar with the enemies.

This variant never had them the second and third one did though.
Honestly i think the puma would be VERY FINE even at 9.7. The strf 9040C BILL is 9.7 for its firepower and BILL atgms but has little to no protection and has to load its first stage ammo stowage. But the puma has roughly the same firepower, very good survivability, LWS/LR, IRCM, plus NO FIRST STAGE AMMO while still sitting at BR 9.0??? That aint making sense to me if imma be honest, and i guess this all happened because gaijin is balancing vehicle by looking through their player's stat instead of its general capability, even though theres A LOT of players abusing this strong--low br'd vehicles just to ruin the fun of others.

front pen an abrams? what? absolutely not, I just went into protection analysis and you can *kinda* hit the turret ring to get the loader, and you can *kinda* get the commander, and that's it from the front.
I love this thing, but it's not front-penning most MBTs, the squishy bois like the AMXs, any IFV, and you can side pen most tanks from pretty crazy angles, you only need about 50-70% angle to kill any MBT from a diagonal. I wouldve rathered 8.7, but it's going to kill shit until 11.0 honestly, i really hope we get a 10.3 version with Spike LRs

the only annoying thing about this thing being 9.0 is that russia´s most prominent vehicle is the TURM-S at 9.7 - so basically you only get uptiers to 9.7 and fight T72s. still a crazy good vehicle. but the constant uptiers make it harder.
The Merk 2D is the Anti IFV Tank lol.

Has anyone seen does MUSS system actually work? I killed one yesterday with BMP-2M missiles they didn’t do wonky or anything but then again I was super close so maybe it didn’t have time to divert them
The MUSS system isn’t working properly it needs to be fixed badly plus it’s supposed to be able to have a full 180 turn radius and should be automated as well.
I think the Puma goes the same way like the HSTVL.. every update 0.3 higher. And in the end he is 10.7 🤣
Wich is fine, if the would finally fix it. It is probably currently one of the most horrifically badly modeled vehicles ingame (at least from the ones we have specs and information for).

Its still kinda op. Its easy to kill but extremely annoying when playing against it.
Acctually i prefer the Strf 9040B over this, sure it has way less protection, but its have a waaay better 40mm Bofors autocannon with stock APFSDS! Also i advise using only 3 belts of APFSDS and 1 belt of air burst for this IFV.
Also if its dumb and it works then it isn't dumb, as the saying goes
The 9040B does have a better round, but the real downside is that it takes FOREVER to reload once the magazine is gone. 24 rounds goes very, very fast and then you spend 40+ seconds hiding. The Puma carriers a 100 round magazine with ~12 second reload. There is an APFSDS round in the stock belt, the other two rounds are incendiary. Not a great stock belt at this BR for sure and you need to get the 121mm asap.

Definitely capture points, sometimes it may not make a big difference but it's something a lot of people avoid doing for some reason.

Nah. If it had atgms, sure, but it’s really not op anymore. 9.0 is perfect. Especially when the bmp 2m is STILL extremely undertiered at 8.7
@@weekikk the bmp2m is another problem and shouldn’t be used as balance guide. But comparing it to the Bradley and other ifvs it’s still better. If the Bradley had its tandem TOWs I’d agree with you that it should stay 9.0 but right now it’s better in all ways than most other ifvs with the exception of the blatantly obvious bmp2m bias.

@@felipeds3021 no more because half the US tank lineup can’t side pen reliability this glitchy armor and this IFV can front pen every 9.0-9.3 us tank for whatever reason. Yes I’m not an idiot and using HEAT rounds but the dart rounds will even often not make it through the side of the puma for whatever reason. Balancing off of other IFVs is way better than just looking at play stats…
This tank needs to be @ 11.0 The reason its fun is because its unfairly easy, but it's all at the cost of the other players = not a good thing. Balance is desired for a reason.
11.0 is kinda much, what they should do is give it its missiles and then put it at 11.0
