    Why do they harvest the petals. Are they going to eat it or use as perfume.

      They use it for both! For food Rose Water & Rose Preserves or Jam. They taste amazing!! Rose Essential Oil for perfumes, soaps, & cosmetic products.

      Destroy them? I believe after what becomes from the distillation process after they are picked and broken down into rose water, rose oil, and rose concentrate then to be added to food and perfume allows, and makes it possible for the Rose to live on in it’s beautiful scent and taste not only for a season that lasts 2 months, but forever to be enjoyed.
