@@MarcosElMalo2 Don't expect last year where they dominated everybody till the end of the season. Still can be pretty good, but not as good offensively, or pitching wise it appears. Gonsolin and Walker would really help.
Dodgers looking extremely lost to start this season. I know it’s only the beginning but I can only hope they’ll find some sort of winning rhythm soon. Mets have such a solid lineup! Great win, guys!
you a new fan? That's the Dodgers' way. Start lost, find a groove and go on a streak and make everyone think we will secure WS but then go in a slump after the all-star break and can't find the groove ever again. Consistency has never been a thing for the Dodgers so I'm used to seeing these patterns.
Giants fan here but was it a balk ? I understand the new rule about pitchers routine, but then the pitcher clearly did it after the balk as well (the little step), so either be against it and call it a balk everytime, or don't call it a balk at all. Did I miss something? Also happy to see Wynns doing well with his new team but didn't like his reaction seeing Lindor being hurt in front of him (which was having basically no reaction at all)
Watch it again. The first time he did it, when the balk was called, the extra step was more pronounced. On his other pitches, it was more subtle. I agree it seems nit-picky, but with the new rules this season, the umps are being extra vigilant.
I was gonna say, he gives me a feeling when I watch him pitch. A feeling of unease but familiarity and then you said Ollie Perez and I was like !!! That's it. Watching Ollie that's the feeling hahah
My prediction of the Dodgers having a rough year ....getting off to a good start. I hope the consolation to all this - Dave Roberts getting canned!!! ...and extra heat on Friedman's seat!!!
This team doesn’t discriminate. They lose to everybody. What happened to Vesia? I don’t remember him being so off his game last year. I can’t believe Chris Taylor was once an all-star.
Over the last few years we dodgers fans have been spoilt with the likes of Trae Turner, Max Scherzer, Corey Seagar, Albert Pujols and even Bellinger. But now we don't really have anything other than our number 1 and 2 hitters. And it's showing in our results.
@@aranicaceres6173 that's a fair comparison, more like Oliver Perez imo with the inconsistency, right before he gave up that second homer to Freeman he got nine batters out in a row
Dodgers need to fire Dave Roberts. Dodgers should've won 4 or 5 championships all these years they were on top, but D Roberts made a lot of bad calls that cost the Dodgers the game. 9,10 years they were on top, D Roberts cost them a game or a championship. GET RID OF ROBERTS.
Can someone explain that balk call against Phil Bickford to me? I was at the game and didn’t understand what had happened. What did he do? Everyone was booing though.
I'm a Dodgers fan and this start to the season does not look good for us but as long as SD or SF doesn't win then I'm good but baseball is trying there best for SD to win it All
I'm of the view that the Dodgers need to strengthen the 'central side' of the field by bringing in quality short stop and 2B (still have faith in Outman as a CF). Have been very disappointed with the new signings of Rojas and J. D. Martinez.
Maybe during the discussion with the ump they clarified that he does that little extra step and the clock needs to be started afterwards. It seems the ump wasn't really aware of that before, the balk call came pretty late. And he's not constantly moving like Gausman or Clevinger, it's just that one extra step, so it shouldn't be a pitch clock problem.
From my understanding if he does it as the normal part of his motion it would be totally fine last year. But this was one of the things they added in the offseason. So the fact that he moved after being set ( even though normal part of his routine) is now not allowed? Because he did it again on the next pitch but that was ignored, which is why there’s more confusion now.
Peterson serving up BP as usual. The guy is Steven Matz and Jon Niese reincarnate. Has no out pitch, everyone sees the ball extremely well out of his hand. Tired of seeing this guy going out there and giving it up. Enough already. If there isn't a lefty starter worthy of being in the rotation then we don't need a lefty in the rotation.
Why do the umpires hate the Dodgers so much this season already? The call of HBP on Mookie being overturned cost a run (he should have been on base when Freddie hit his first homer), as did the balk call on Bickford. Both calls were wrong.
Friedman is dumb for not making any significant moves this offseason. He has the #1 farm in baseball with a lot of prospects who there’s just no room for. Agreed. The Mets stole the win from us fair and square. I still hate the new rules. The pitch clock rushes the pitches and we lose the mental game between pitcher and batter. That subtle drama is one of the things that sets baseball apart.
