    Yummy! I used 1/2 cup light sour cream instead. I also used the light version of cream of chicken and mushroom. I used whole wheat egg noodles instead and added frozen peas and carrots with a little bit of onion. Turned out great.

    This is very similar to a meal my family makes called "Poppy Seed Chicken". It's just chicken, cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, sour cream but no noodles. Put it in a casserole and then crush ritz crackers and put them over the top and drizzle butter and a sprinkle of poppy seeds (which I always leave out bc I never have them) and bake. It's SO good! Super easy. I'm going to try it with noodles next time! Thanks :)

      Definitely use chicken broth only..or a lot less water. Chicken thighs. Cook the noodles in the "broth" with the chicken. The noodles absorb the flavor. Also add onion, celery to the broth/water when boiling the chicken.

      Yes it could have but I didn't want to add more chicken flavor to it so I used water. It already has a lot of chicken/mushroom flavor plus I didn't save the broth because I have a lot of broth stored in my freezer already.

    Holy Cow is that a Club Aluminum Pan? My Dad worked for Monarch Aluminum in Cleveland OH and their plant made those pans. I remember he could buy one set a year for cost so everyone we knew had a set of those pans. You never see them anymore....they were the best brown bean pots EVER. Monarch closed years ago and I'm not sure if those Club Aluminum pans are even made anymore or how you'd order them.

    • @Thrifttastticmom1
      @Thrifttastticmom1  8 років тому

      yes, because the chicken will continue to cook in the dish so you dont want it over cooked. the chicken will be pretty close to done at 12 minutes because the boiling cooks it quicker.
