Man when I was looking at exhausts I was so frustrated with having no consistency among videos like this. It was all revs and fly-bys and I literally just couldn't tell how loud it actually was. Hopefully someone watches this who's thinking about getting them and it actually helps them decide.
Atex I’ve never actually heard a set up like that in person, BUT from what I’ve seen people say, the Roush ABs with any sort of midpipe (especially catless) is about as loud as you can get with an exhaust set up. What I love about the Corsas is that they *can* be loud as hell, but when you’re taking it light on the throttle they’re honestly not that loud. They’re very controllable, the only exception being about the first 10-15 seconds of the cold starts.
Hands down the best perspective for any exhaust video. Corsa should use this video as reference. I've seen your older video's with this setup and now I've been enjoying the xtremes myself. It's the best exhuast for the s550 quiet when wanted and loud when needed

How loud is the cold start in person? I live in an apartment complex lol and will usually start my car to go to work at 9:30 AM. I had a muffler delete on my 09 V6 and it wasnt that loud. I just bought a 14' Mustang GT and I am looking to buy the Corsa Xtreme axle backs to start.

My old 2002 mustang only had muffler deletes & droned real bad on the freeway & everything vibrates but it’s weird how the corsa extreme is way louder but no drone....so I’m guessing they changed they seals on the windows or something to keep the sound out
707Kidd garage while that’s true I think it’s more so about whatever technology they use in the muffler, because many exhausts for the s550 do drone - especially the deeper sounding ones. Ultimately there’s a reason Corsa can charge $1,600 for a catback exhaust and people will pay it
It's because of their RSC technology. They have a patented design for a helmholtz resonator that they build into the muffler that cancels only the frequencies that cause drone, but without impeding flow or volume. Corsa will go on any car I own that I want an exhaust on.
Don't even know if you still have the car but i figure i'll ask anyway. How is the idle when it's completely warm? That's my only concern really, coming home from work in the middle of the night and my garage is right next to my apartment.
Keyser Söze idle is very reasonable volume when it’s warm. Honestly the only time the exhaust is uncontrollably loud is a cold start. Anything else, you can make it quiet by being gentle on the throttle. You won’t wake up anyone up cruising home at night unless your right foot is heavy. But, obviously, it’s louder than stock no matter what. You could probably hear it idle in a quiet apartment setting, but it’s not going to wake anyone up.
Posting from my other account - I do still have the car, however I did sell the Xtremes and picked up the FRPP Sport instead. Loved the Xtremes, but my living situation changed and I wanted something more quiet

Ugh I think you've changed my mind from the Borla ATAK. My main concern is Borla (for whatever reason) stopped making headers. Which makes no sense but It's between the Corsa Xtreme's and Borla ATAK. Make no mistake, the Xtremes are raspy. They have a good, deep town in lower RPMs but any heavy throttle over about 3k definitely has some rasp. I’ve never heard the Xtremes with headers in person but videos I’ve seen make them sound VERY loud and pretty raspy. Some people love them, some hate them. If I’m being completely honest, I think a better choice for headers would be either the Corsa Sport or the Borla ATAK
@@fullofhopkins1322 Yeah but I think that's what I've realized - the Coyote is a different animal from the days of the 80's 5.0 & 90's-early 00's 4.6L, mine feels restricted (Bassani X-Muffler design with straight pipes in the rear). I think the new engine is exactly that - it wants to growl and sound like a Mustang in low RPM but when you slam that gas pedal home it wants to scream like a banshee and other exhausts are trying too hard to make it sound like the Mustang from days past. The ATAK get raspy in high RPM's too, but they don't offer a complete set and little options with no options for headers. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with the Corsa Xtreme's, the Sport sounds raspier for sure, likely even more so with headers. I'll have to cross that bridge when I come to it I think. Your video was very helpful in helping me decide, I almost pulled the trigger on the ATAK's a few weeks ago. Glad I didn't, would've been a pain to cut those tips to make a quad exhaust instead of just ordering them (dumb move on Borla's part).
Justin Donahue yeah the modern coyote is an inherently raspy engine, and exhausts that try to hide that and make it artificially deep always come with the side effect of bad drone. I don’t mind rasp in higher RPMs and every exhaust will have some on these cars. I do think that in terms of having more options Corsa is a better option and there’s obviously a reason it sells so well for these cars
This exhaust IMO seems to be a refined version of the Roush axle backs. I plan to pair the Corsa sport catback with the ARH catted long tube headers. The GT already has a whipple stage 2 Gen 3. I think that should be a pretty good setup without sounding obnoxiously loud. An exhaust tone for me has to sound almost musical as you go through the gears and rpm band. The Corsa exhaust note/tone is definitely musical. The extreme would be too loud for me given that I have headers albeit catted and a blower. Your video offers a good context for the Corsa exhaust. Collins Jackman I agree completely. The exhaust sounds different at multiple RPM points. I plan to go LTHs one day and I am a little worried about the volume, but I think paired with the sport/touring ABs it would be okay. And thanks man!
I would do that if I were you. Loud doesn't always translate into sounding good. You don't want the exhaust tonal quality to be destroyed or distorted by it having too much volume. Even Corsa performance the manufacturer advises going with their sport version rather than the xtreme mufflers if you are going with a headers setup. A lot of the videos I've seen and heard featuring the Corsa xtreme with headers sound horrible. We are driving muscle cars, not a fart can import or rice burner. Smh!
Collins Jackman agreed. I think the Xtremes are the perfect volume. They scream when you want them to but they can also be fairly reserved. I’ve heard from a lot of people that the sport CB with headers is around the same volume as the Xtreme CB
Collins Jackman the AWE is a great option, especially their full exhaust. It’s the only really deep sounding exhaust for the s550 that I actually like, because it doesn’t seem to repress it so much at higher RPMs. But yes, I agree, and I think all things considered there’s no doubt that Corsa makes the best exhaust for the s550. Korbin Layton man, off roads with this CB would be stupid loud. Which is not to say you shouldn’t do it lmao, but I wouldn’t run that set up unless my mustang was strictly a weekend or track car. If I ever go LTHs and I’m still using this car as a daily or anything close, I would probably swap the sport mufflers for the touring ones to make it a bit more manageable. But with that said, from what I’ve heard the Xtreme with long tubes sound absolutely amazing. It’s like a fucking NASCAR.

Yeah honestly the cold starts sound very similar from what I've heard. I almost got the Sports but my main concern with loudness was the cold start, so I just said fuck it and got the Xtremes lol

ScooterGirl86 well, mine does not backfire/crackle/whatever very much. You won’t really get much of that from any exhaust without a tune, I don’t think. I will say, the sound-deadening in these cars is very good. With the windows up the exhaust isn’t very loud inside the car. But with them down I can definitely hear it, and listening to my car from the outside, it is *very* loud. So, idk... I’ve always maintained that the exhaust isn’t “raise the dead” loud like some people online say, unless you’re really getting on it, but it’s absolutely louder and tonally different than stock IMO. The stock exhaust on these cars is like barely audible

Selvan Rajasekaran no, there is literally no drone. At highway speeds (6th gear, 2k rpm) you cannot hear the exhaust at all. Sounds factory.
