I have my 1966 non-reverb Princeton. Very different beast - clean tones all the way to 10, and just gorgeous, perfectly balanced tone. I noticed on the couple of your videos I just watched that you seem to lean toward clean settings on your amps, so if you ever get to play a non-reverb model you should definitely try it out.
Very nice playing and that Princeton sounds awesome. I hope to find one someday. Currently I use my Rivera era Super Champ and Concert amps along with a vintage Vibro Champ. I love the classic Fender sound! Anyway, Thanks for posting and that amp is a keeper!
Really nice! I have a ‘64 which I was only able to afford because it’s sort of a chopper (non original “12 speaker, 3-prong orange construction cable 😂). By far my most used amp. Oh and had to edit to add…my favorite guitar with it is my 64 SG chopper, coincidentally! Favorite boost? The Nobels ODR-1!! Great minds
These have become pricey! Good on you in owning this amp! These things sound wonderful! Amazing how Leo could get that typical Fender amp tone even out of these little guys.
Vintage iron is alot of the mojo.especially the output trans.i bought a hw replica of a 64 deluxe the guy that built it put a 30 watt power trans in it.i found a real 64 output trans for it and its bad ass.the extra 10 watts helps the amp breathe and the vintage output trans made it into one of my favorites.i have a 66 super reverb and a 64 bassman for comparison and its there with them.great video and playing.
Enjoyed this video, Thanks. I have a clone Princeton Reverb & have been tweaking & tinkering with while managing to not quite yet kill myself by the caps discharge. It sounds great so far. I have a, perhaps mad, suggestion to Fender & other companies regarding date markings: For example, instead of 'P' being 1966 & 'E' being May, how about, now bear with me here, perhaps just have '1966' (or '66) being 1966 & 'May' being May? Too crazy-whacky-crazy? Obviously so.
A Princeton Reverb is too small , a Vibrolux Reverb is too big , a Super Reverb is way too big , a Deluxe Reverb is just right but I'll still take one of each . Er , ah , make that two of each .
The WGS sounds absolutely amazing, haven’t thought smooth cone speaker would work this well with the blackface Princeton Reverb. Are you using all JJ tubes in the amp?
No disrespect meant, but that just sounds like the kind of honky/mid heavy mess I was getting from mine, in fact worse because of the humbuckers, not a very versatile sound and led me to move on and try different Fenders.
I grew up on a PR in the 1960's. FYI the Eminence 1028K alnico speaker sounds the most authentic; it's great in vintage PR's. WG speakers sound great too, but the 1028K is the most authentic sounding. If I could only own one amp it'd definitely be a vintage BF PR. The 1970's SF PR's (non-master volume) are also great. Sorry, but the reissues PR's are truly NOT as good. Save your $$$ and get the real thing.
On the Chassis code I meant to say 1966 lol!! Sorry y’all
Best demo I’ve ever heard. Superb.
Great tone and playing
Nice playing! You showcase how a Princeton sounds in great way!
Thank you so much!!
I have a 65 that I bought back in 78. Killer amp. All original except for the tubes.
Awesome! They’re amazing amps!!

Those are fantastic!! The Mike Campbell amp ! One of them at least.. haha.
Got a ‘68 non-reverb Princeton (drip edge, lines, and I’m told it’s mostly ‘67 specs). Also clean all the way to 10 and it’s the lushest dry tone
@@8CountAudio Very cool!!
I've been playing my '65 PR since '72.Great amp.
Wow very cool! Can’t go wrong!!
These are magical amps.
Yes they are! Thanks for watching!
Sounds fantastic! Even my 1985 Ibanez sounds killer through one, it's a 67 Princeton, this one has JBL in it..
Sounding good Justin!
Sounds great, the playing's on point, too! Keep on rockin' (and jazzin', bluesin', countryin', etc.) in the free (at least for now) world. ✌🎸
Thank you so much!!
Beautiful playing!! Great amp and video thanks Justin!!
Great playing in the demo. I’ve got a Rivera pubster loosely bas3d on a Princeton and I love it as well
great sound , great playing
Thanks so much!!
SWEET don't change any settings. Perfect
Thank you so much!!

Anyway, Thanks for posting and that amp is a keeper!
Thank you I love those Rivera era super champs they sound amazing I would love to get one
You changed the speaker, that changes everything, that's what makes the majority of the sound so it's not surprising that it sounds good now
So good! Thank you! ❤
Thank you so much!
great job dude!
Thank you so much!

Definitely! Thank you for the comment and thanks for watching!!
Good info.just to clairify i put a real vintage 64 deluxe ot on it.
Some folks say the Vibrolux Reverb fits that bill! My 75 year old back says, "Princeton Reverb"!! 🙂
Haha!
Beautiful amp and more importantly superb playing. Is that from a song one of your own pieces? Wish you could do a lesson on that.
Thank you so much! I just improvised that! Sign up for my Patreon would love to teach you!

Dam fine pickin too
Thank you so much!!
Really been looking at a 65 Princeton reverb with a 10in Jenson speaker from sweat water for home playing. So you’d recommend?
Yes the reissues are great!

Thank you!! I’ve been really impressed with this speaker too! I’ll have to check what brand tubes are in there I don’t remember!
@@justinmeyersguitarist Thanks very much, Justin. Really appreciate it. Your 1964 SG sounds absolutely amazing as well!
If you had to choose between the deluxe reverb or a Princeton reverb which would you choose for an all around amp for small to medium gigs?
Great question! Be on the lookout for a video on this!
Somebody likes Mr Trucks....
Derek is fantastic !!

For sure!
No standby???
👍👍
Thank you!
👍♥️
Looks half stacked on the Marshall ...
I’ll NEVER part with my ‘65 with a 12” Jensen. Impossible to get an ugly tone out of it.
Geez, two thirds of the video is you talking. Good information but lets get to hear the amp!
Thank you!
