Thanks so much!
Really sounds great!
Thanks so much!
Thanks for sharing. How do you differentiate where the bar lines are? What is a full measure vs 1/2? I can’t tell what the underline is signifying. Thanks!
wow this makes me realize how GARBAGE my ears are. Thanks for the insight into how studio guys chart it out.
Haha I can help develop your ears!
spicing up the content! love to see it
Thanks Daniel!
Great video and very helpful. That was really fast. You have a really good ear. On that first chart you showed why didn’t the 2 have a 2- or 2 min after it. is the 2 always assumed minor. Also what monitor and size do you use? Really nice set up from a different view we are different seeing. A nice change of pace. I have to stop start several times to do a chart. I can do them but not as fast and i used chord names.
Thanks Thomas! Good question- I normally just assume the 2 as minor because that’s once again the formula to the major scale as the 2nd interval is minor. However, I spaced out when explaining that particular song, it is actually a major chord but the whole intro is one massive guitar ID lick so the changes are happening in the rhythm section as I play the lick. But still, I like to write the changes behind the lick, normally assume minor on a 2. Everybody has their own way of writing charts.
This is a good video. More like this, please.
Thanks
Great Video, Justin! This was fun
Thanks James!
Great video Justin. I'm still trying to master the art of number charts. Still have trouble with them on the fly.
Thanks!
You are so the real deal, and a really good dude and great player!! This channel is so damn enjoyable!!
Thanks Phil!
Impressive charting. How long to learn to do that on the fly?
I’ve been able to hear chord changes for a long time since I was a kid.
Ah this is exactly what I wanted to hear about!
Thanks!
Hey justin! sounds like you're moving right along! Glad to see it!
Thanks Daniel!
Think I seen that video… had me scratching my head… anyone talking money…lookout !
Haha yes so true
What’s your interface/mic chain for streams? Sounds great. A lot of UA-camrs seem to struggle with that.
Also I asked a question in a stream and you did a whole separate video. That was cool best of luck.
Such a great subject covered here!! Great tone, great playing!!
Thanks so much Phil!
That special is special! Curious- what do you consider your most versatile guitar? Regarding negativity- just be you, believe me that’s what counts.
Hard to say! They all do something different
Great video Justin. I look forward to to your live tomorrow. Cheers brother , try n behave tonight. Well at least a. Little.
Thanks Ben!!
Justin great show, your biggest fan. The best Paul.
Thank you Paul that means the world to me!
Sounds like the Plexi
Oh yes!
Amen, brother! Never work for just the money. And always take advantage of a good opportunity regardless of the pay.
That’s right!
that is a really nice sounding guitar! one of my favorites that you own. Thanks for sharing. Jake
Thanks Jake!
Damn what amp in beginning?
68 50w bass spec Marshall
Keep pushing.
Thanks!!
I kindly disagree on playing "Note for Note" and "exact same sound"! First: I am not the original Guitarist and Second: I am not the original Guitarist. I can't play like him nor do i exactly sound like him, and that's the interesting thing on Guitar. Nobody sounds like anybody! In my 30years Career i always orientated on the originals but played my own versions, and mostly even with MY Sounds, and guess what: the fresh/new/different take on their originals was mostly seen as being better by the Artist than the original. (I need to admit that was way before serious health issues forced me to quit and being now worlds_worst_guitarist).
All good riffs, sounds great
Thanks so much!
Subbed! Great video and demonstration of this amp. I have a DSL 50 that was gifted to me after a friends passing. It's been a sentimental piece mostly, also since the Super Reverb is perfect for my music style...until now. I finally have dug into this DSL 50 and as you demonstrated here, discovered it's killer tones. This amp is so fun to play. I have serviced and played many vintage Marshalls of different era's and this amp deserves a place in the history. Yes, the construction is not comparable to vintage or boutique amps but neither is the price. I have rectified the bias issues on mine, improved a few other weak points and made a small mod that is switchable via the tone shift switch. (this switch is likely misunderstood and use improperly). Thanks!
Thanks so much!
Hi again Jason. Would you you listen to a demo I've done and give your advice for improvements?

Aloha I have an Epiphone Joe Bonamasa Firebird 1. I was interested in what Uncle Larry did. 250k for volume and tone? And what size capacitor? You help will be greatly appreciated. Mahalo. Victor Beebe
Hey, great intro! That Special is a killer! Yep, that’s quite the challenge going hitch to hitch as a touring musician. But you spelled out what it takes beautifully , very useful and sound information for those looking to break into that kind of gig.
Thanks!!
Hands down that's tbe sounding guitar you have Justin, that thing has a bite and just cuts! Ain't it wild how those old P 90's just blow a PAF away in newer Gibson s! That thing just Rocks bro! Who are you touring with coming up? Thanks, love your channel bro!
Would love to see a video on details of Nashville number chart.
That tone was epic. Obviously the playing was even better. What was that signal chain? I kept making faces.
❤nice young Justin
Thank you:)
I'm here for the guitar music. Liked your choice. Found the narrative listenable and interesting. So, I suggest you keep on plugging away with this channel.
Thanks!!
Nice intro, love it when you break out that special and rock out!
Thank you Mojo!!
Thank you Justin, I really love this type of videos.
Thanks so much!
Sometimes it’s what you don’t play. Thanks for bringing us along
Thanks Jimmy!
A lot of waiting...
That's why they say the studio is 98% boredom mixed with 2% total terror....Lol
Haha yes!
Hi Justin! Hang in there...!
thanks pedro!!
Man you seem like a nice guy, and I do see your point BUT, I remember Mr Roth and Mr Vanhalen, breaking up my favorite band. Personally I could live with Eddie putting out an instrumental masterpiece in addition to what he did with Sammy but that wasn’t the case, we all suffered until… Times have changed my friend, humans are competing against A.I. let alone trying to hold a band together, so I really understand why that singer is doing what he’s doing, but none the less start your band dude, I’m sure you’ll do just fine!
I agree with you 100%
thanks henry!
@@justinmeyersguitarist I watched a documentary about Nashville top songwriters, they don't work alone any more, they always collaborate because one is strong with lyrics and the other with musical hooks, each also have different contacts so it helps to sell their songs. Collaboration is really good thing.
@@henrykc3 yes obviously that’s a huge thing here in nashville.. but I’m talking about actually forming a band and writing material together. Not 3-5 different writers just for one song. I’m talking about actually forming a band and instead of just focusing solo on social media, collaborating with one another.
@@justinmeyersguitarist I understand. I think there is no other place on Earth with so many great musicians per square mile as you have in Nashville. You should be able to find good musicians for your band. I live in Los Angeles, lots of really good musicians here too, the problem is that most are involved in 10 different projects and because of this they fail in every single one of them. Just people who are dedicated and focus on their plan advance to the next stage.
@@henrykc3 yes musicians are no problem I already have a rhythm section of really pro players that are down, it’s just finding a singer to collaborate that doesn’t want to just do their own thing. The whole point of the video is that, everybody wants to do everything by themself because of social media and how they can do everything themself- Which is a great thing, exactly why I do this. Collaboration and forming a band (like what Steven Tyler + Joe Perry, DLR + EVH, many other examples) is really missing from today’s music. For country music, there’s 3-5 sometimes even wayyy more writers that are just writing randomly in hopes of a “solo artist” not band cutting the song. It’s not an actual collaboration amongst a partnership or band situation. Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks
Good Insight, Well Said, & I Concur. Hope All Goes Well For You Justin & That You Find Like Minded Musicians, & Bring The Universe Musical Blessing...NeediT 🎵☮️🌎🌍🌏✊
thanks so much!
These short form platforms are a dual edged sword. Great format to get yourself known, but an extremely crowded field. There always seems to room for more, especially if you have the goods. I read that article too- I long for the days of bands where a great guitarist teams with a great singer and put out a great product. The economics make it tricky and maybe I’m a bit nostalgic and old school but that’s the art form I grew up to love. Good luck Justin!
thanks so much jimmy!
