I have the same hedge trimmer. Glad I ran into your video. You cover quite a few possible issues while troubleshooting the trimmer. Thanks brother for the video…great video.
Very helpful. My cutter bar slowed way down to not working at all today. The engine ran but labored. I will work on the gearbox as you demonstrated and I’m sure the problem will be gone. Great tuneup demonstration. Thanks.
Awesome video, with ideas well explained. Just finished maintaining my trimmer based on this video: the blades were not working. Soon found the grease in the gearbox was super stiff, almost like a soft plastic. All sorted now.
I have this same machine and I was using it for 1 hr then it wouldn't start. I've replace air fuel filters and spark plug. I bought a new carb but still won't start. Have you any other tips.
We are a dealer so we get parts from manufacturers. For things like spark plugs we buy those from big vendors that cater to dealers. I don't do parts ordering so can't help you with who those vendors may be.
Hey I have a question when putting the bottom plate back on. Mine does not fit snug there is a gap where the gasket is. Do I just tighten up the screws until it “warps” back into a tight seal? I can’t figure out what is causing the gap.
@@TheGreasyShopRag i figured it out. I believe it was what you said. Took me 15 mins to figure it out. Thanks man! Watched your video to figure out how it went together lol.
Lots of plot twists in this episode! Was there some regular maintenance that could have kept the cutter bar moving better, or is that just what happens when you get into something sticky?
How often should I be oiling the cutters? I suppose that would depend on how much it gets used, or is there some sort of interval? Also, what's a good oil?
Thanks 👍 for everything you show me hi have a Stihl H S 75 I have rebilled it every thing works but the blades still will not work and the clutch drive shaft spin's blades work okay but it still will not work the blades why Dave 😂

Thank-you. Just carried out this fix on my Husqvarna 122HDD60, and it now works perfectly. Saved time and money going to the repair shop!

Where can I find the special tool for adjusting the carburetor H and L adjustment screws? Thanks for the video.
Carb adjustment tools are available on amazon and ebay. They often sell as kits with multiple styles and don't cost much.
Thank you for the info Scott I got the thin line flashlight
I consider it an essential tool and keep a spare.
I must have missed where you told about the light. What is it? Brand, etc.
@@BrokenMonkeyProductions if you go on a sight called Lise 35900 flexible flashlight you will find a inspection light
@@BrokenMonkeyProductions or you can get the light streamlight 65418 188 stylus reached at Bargain Junkie
@@BrokenMonkeyProductions the light is a Streamlight 65418. the only drawback is that it uses "AAAA" batteries that aren't always easy to find.

Check for spark. Another possibility is grass wound up under the flywheel that has damaged the crank seal.
Where do you buy parts for this trimmer? like filter spark plugs etc...

Quick question, could I replace the blades with a 60cm for 122HD60 on a 122HD45? And is that also the case for the 226HD series?
@mbielchris The 122's share the same gearbox. Not sure about the 226.

DO NOT torque the plate down. You'll crack it. Are you sure the bottom "connecting rod" is properly in place over the crank journal that turns it?

Oiling it AFTER use would have prevented this problem.

I like Fluid Film used after each use of the trimmer. Its a lanolin based product that won't damage plant life. Thanks for watching.
Great video

I think I worked on one that acted like that and it was a stripped gear under the clutch drum.
