In Episode 6 of Y440 Sessions Season 2, we're joined by Drew Birston and Kevin Laliberte of the Sultans of String. First up, Drew plays the same riff on each of his basses for a direct comparison. He provides insightful commentary on the strengths of each bass, giving viewers a chance to see and hear the differences between each instrument.
Next, we catch up with Drew and Kevin, who have just come off of tour. They share their experience using Yamaha instruments and HX Stomps on the road. As professional musicians, they give a unique perspective on how the gear held up during the rigours of touring and live performances.
Lastly, Drew shows us his process for dialling in a cool tone on the Rocket Bass amp. It's a great opportunity to get an inside look at how a master of his craft approaches tone and texture.
