This vehicle has inspired me. I've got a left over 29 CC weed eater engine and this is my idea. I can hook up the weed eater engine to run a small motorcycle stator that generates enough current to keep a set of deep cycle batteries charged. up. Then I can mount an ATV electric drive conversion kit to an old Yamaha four wheeler I have. The end result will be a super light weight machine that has high torque standing starts, is super fast, and gets about a zillion miles per gallon of gas. Plus with an inverter, I can even have a plug or two for running a couple small tools for short periods of time.
That's mature. Look at this setup, a predator 212 is powering this. As long as you have the right gearing you can do it. You may not go very fast but you will still move.
Dude, you just watched a video of a probably 2 ton rig being powered by an engine that makes maybe 4 foot pounds of torque. Get a sprocket big enough and it would work with 1 or 2 foot pounds of torque.
You obviously don't know a thing about truck chassis' if you don't think that thing is 2 tons. Most the weight is in the chassis and drive train not the body. Even if it isn't all the way to the 2 tons it is at least within 4 or 500 pounds of it and if you would read, I said torque not horsepower. A predator 212 makes 6.5hp and 4 foot pounds of torque.
Evan Turgeon you are literally a fucking idiot. If you do the math on what you want the torque from any engine to be, gearing gets you there. And your daddy probably bought you your fucking duramax so shut the hell up.
Richard Vaughn that’s a good idea . I got a kick from this vid because when I was kid I rigged up a rotax snowmobile motor to a Toyota pickup truck frame ... it was a stone but you couldn’t break anything if ya tried .
nice thing about a rig like this is the low weight. i'd bet it crawls through anything without getting stuck and speed isn't important when you're off-roading.
I mean having some real power and momentum helps but in a lot of cases just breaks more shit on the trail lol low HP Toyotas will out do 300hp trucks on a lot of things besides a straight mud hole
@Lane AWD no clue what you’re talking about never heard anyone have those issues with a Tacoma lol you’re probably talking about a 79-95 but either way never slid down a hill backwards cause it ran out of power and a Tacoma of any year has plenty of power unless something is wrong with it
12 inch sprocket, 5 gears think he said he can drive it like an automatic, shift to the gear he wants. Still has the 3rd pedal but doesn't actually need it.
Love it ! Half a ton? I bet it can get nearly anywhere? The guys in Wales had a mini car engine in a landrover and that could drive on the bog land you couldn't walk on :o)
I'm 100%sure if he had a CVT on that predator engine, he'd get a massive improvement in torque cause those go kart clutches are ment for only 400 lbs, and 10 inch tires, I know there is a huge gear reduction just before the transmission, but I'm the type always looking for improvement
I know when cars and camera's did the torque converter install on their black widow go kart they went to 41 ft lbs of torque at the wheels. That kart pulls wheelies all day. It would be nuts to install the torque converter with that giant 12 inch sprocket.
Waylon Richardson Oh wow! Definitely do me a favor and post a video if you do. I'd like to see that for sure. Better yet, I'd like to take a ride on one of those lol!
pretty cool! looks like the rear engine is hooked to an alternator so i assume its his generator? now all he needs is a stocked up beer fridge , stereo system, and hes all set!
Hell, why not? Smart dude, if you ask me. Turn 6.5 hp into a shitton with gearing. And completely plausible. What's it cost to replace a 212? $100 bucks? AND you could carry 2 or 3 motors around? Beats the hell out of the alternative. Can't carry a single spare ford motor around. Dead weight anyway.
This guy is pretty smart. I bet he could figure out that he already has everything he needs to convert this to a series hybrid. He could drive that big sprocket with the winch motor, recharged by the predator 212. It would be more efficient and have more top end.
Check out some used Briggs Vanguard or Wisconsin engines first. You get more power, better reliability, more torque and cylinders, for a cheaper price. They can be found in the $300-400 range reasonably, regionally of course.
What are the number of teeth on motor/trans ? What brand clutch is that ? Looks like the engine runs backwards to make it work. Now all you need to do is install that gas can vapor line trick and you'll get 200 mpg. lol
manual tranny helps with wear and tork timing. = the centrifugal clutch is maybe the weak link? cheap replacement. nothing else should fail it has well built full size alternator
1:19 There is a separate engine just to drive the alternator gotta love it 😂
And that is the one with the straight pipe
It's amazing what these small engines can do with the right gear reduction.

I typed in "lawnmower engine in a car". I am satisfied 🙂
Lmao same
Proof with the right setup any engine can be used in any vehicle.
That's mature. Look at this setup, a predator 212 is powering this. As long as you have the right gearing you can do it. You may not go very fast but you will still move.
technically you can, it may not work the greatest it may not be worth doing but it can be done.

When you want to be an offroader but you only have 200 dollars and some scrap
Richard Vaughn Only 119$ where I’m at .
Richard Vaughn that’s a good idea . I got a kick from this vid because when I was kid I rigged up a rotax snowmobile motor to a Toyota pickup truck frame ... it was a stone but you couldn’t break anything if ya tried .
@@tripplefives1402 $119 dude.
Read a sales ad.
Earn the Tanner !!
Richard Vaughn they are like $120. Where did you come up with 400+ dollars???????????
Amazing what some folks can dream and build, bravo!

I think the 800 or so dislikes are from the people that can't fix a slipping chain.
I agree
Dat gear ratio.
Sackmatters lmao
Cool.
693 to 1 GR, I've always said overgear, undermotor.
how fast does it go and mpg
can we see more of this rig?
That ingenuity tho 👏🏾
Chris Miller 👏
Yes it is my man!!👍🏻
Biggest sprocket ive seen in my life!!!!
Never seen a flex plate or flywheel?
Yeah i have, but never knew they had a similar chain pitch teeth to be able to use them together
djenn434 he has another video that says its a 5 speed and it uses the clutch on the engine so he just floats the gears like a semi
12 inch sprocket, 5 gears think he said he can drive it like an automatic, shift to the gear he wants. Still has the 3rd pedal but doesn't actually need it.
A bloody flywheel
This guy lives close to me I saw it at the gas station by 103 and 147 in east Texas Very cool machine .
an thats cool as all hell, make more videos of stuff like this
That would make the best go cart ever for a kid.
I wanted to see him pull
joe Burtnick he pulls a semi with it look it up 6.5 4x4 semi pull
I like the setup, but there’s a rip in the upholstery 😉.
Might wanna get that seat re-covered.
No replacement for displacement huh Billy Bob?
Steve Dupree in this case it looks like the replacement was gearing to the top speed of a push mower
Diebis
i wasn't looking at the tow truck but rather that big monster truck in the background
Love it ! Half a ton? I bet it can get nearly anywhere? The guys in Wales had a mini car engine in a landrover and that could drive on the bog land you couldn't walk on :o)
I bet it weighs about 1800 lbs.
i need to see more of this beautiful creation.
This is brilliant omg ive always wanted to do this!
is there anything a harbor freight motor won't do🙄
Rev past 3600 stock
Helicopter?
I'm 100%sure if he had a CVT on that predator engine, he'd get a massive improvement in torque cause those go kart clutches are ment for only 400 lbs, and 10 inch tires, I know there is a huge gear reduction just before the transmission, but I'm the type always looking for improvement
Dooley Dooley I agree. Those little clutches never last even under normal use.
I know when cars and camera's did the torque converter install on their black widow go kart they went to 41 ft lbs of torque at the wheels. That kart pulls wheelies all day. It would be nuts to install the torque converter with that giant 12 inch sprocket.
Waylon Richardson I watch that channel too lol! It's one of my favorites.
I have been subscribed there for like 2 years. They are the reason I wanna do a honda gl1800 swap on my own go kart.
Waylon Richardson Oh wow! Definitely do me a favor and post a video if you do. I'd like to see that for sure. Better yet, I'd like to take a ride on one of those lol!
For a second I thought this was Whistlin Diesels go kart 😂
When you decide harbor freight is good enough for you lmao
Damn straight! Sometimes ya gotta use what ya gut!
Now that is some ingenuity at its FINEST.
definitely a toolshed special.
Haha sick, absolutely sick!!
With the right gearing a washing machine motor can pull a freight train...slowly of course
Thats crazy! that lil go cart motor turning those big ass tires!
I love this so much it's nothing that makes me smile like a small.engine at work
pretty cool!
looks like the rear engine is hooked to an alternator so i assume its his generator?
now all he needs is a stocked up beer fridge , stereo system, and hes all set!
*_The rear engine powers an alternator to make juice for the electric winch._*
yup, real nice truck Vern
Ultimate shop truck!!
Honey! Hold my beer!
i wanna see more of that "tow truck" lol bet this video blows up in views

Here's another.
Hell, why not?
Smart dude, if you ask me.
Turn 6.5 hp into a shitton with gearing.

Beats the hell out of the alternative.
Can't carry a single spare ford motor around.
Dead weight anyway.
Iam not saying that internal combustion engines should be phased out ,but you could have made one with electric motors from a forklift truck!
some bare bone tow truck right there
That there is straight up hillbilly! 2 Thumbs Up , now comear and hold ma beer and watch this!
LOOKING GOOOD
This is it! This is the car! THEEEEEE CAR!!!
My friend had that rig but swapped a 350 in it. Gained a lot of power!
This guy is pretty smart. I bet he could figure out that he already has everything he needs to convert this to a series hybrid. He could drive that big sprocket with the winch motor, recharged by the predator 212. It would be more efficient and have more top end.
LMAO 🍻 Gotta FN love it 😂
now I know how I'm going to build my son's 4wd go kart! custum frame and spare Toyota running gear! hell ya!
Best go cart ever
I'm wanting one of these! Think I'll go with the 420cc motor though. 🤔

@@MechanicParker Thanks for the heads up!
CRAZY HOMIE U GOT DOWN ON UR MASTER PEICE
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls God Bless Ya 🙏
I want to see more of this guy.
Should of used a 1.3L 4 cyclinder samurai engine they weigh nothing. You can literally pick one up no problem.
Thanos unless you don't have arms
130 plus lbs on a 1.3. There is a cool factor to having a lawn motor.
yup rather use a 1.3 Sammy engine at least you could mud with it then
rudyyy60
Haha I mess with Vw diesels and that's a popular swap in a Sammy.
Go for a mechanical injected tdi 😉
Thanos
nah, one of the higher HP ones, 14hp? and a torqueaverter and that thing would be in business
how does he shift gears with that centrifical GO CART STYLE clutch ?
I wanna see it in action looks 😎 my son likes it
Cant wait for predator to come out with a 300hp 5 leiter v8
this is actually beautiful
Proof cheap engines are good and powerfull
Whoooyeeeee!!! If it ain't harbor freight, it ain't a fukin truk!!
And here is where V8 lovers get an education
lol LS7
Unbelievable 👍
Dude that's so awesome. I want that so bad
Cool! Probably goes anywhere it's so lightweight.
Прикольный драндулет!
When you max out all the states in hill climb excepted the engine
More than likely we would be friends he seems like my kinda people
I feel the same way,he dont even have to ask. more than welcome to reach in the cooler and grab a beer
I saw a similar setup on a VW sand rail buggy. They replaced the engine with a 13 hp electric start Predator.
Crazy power 😂🤣🤣🤣
This is awesome
That’s alota bag for a buck. I Gotta see some more of that.
Genius!
Big babies always be big babies
What are the number of teeth on motor/trans ? What brand clutch is that ? Looks like the engine runs backwards to make it work. Now all you need to do is install that gas can vapor line trick and you'll get 200 mpg. lol
Well I guess he ready for the next mad max movie 🖒
Down sizing is all the rage with the manufacturers these days. So how the MPGs?
That's way too much horsepower even for a tow truck
I would put a torque converter on rather then a centrifugal clutch. centrifugal clutches tend to slip alot when underload going up hills.
where would the weak point be on that driveline? the spindle holding that 4 foot diameter sprocket?
Why the monster truck lift kits though? To cross rivers or mountains maybe?
That's what we like to see good show old man good show!👍
Makes me wonder how small of an engine you can put in a car to get it moving like just moving
Well, a man can push a car on level ground.
I would love to see how this thing was built
that thing is fucking awsum!! lol love it!
I sound like a kid on prom night but I wanna see more.
Anything is possible.. I've got a 1970 ford pickup that gets 28mpg with it's mercedes benz OM617 turbo diesel that runs on oil changes...
When you want to restore your dads tow truck but you only have 500$
It's cool. But how fast will it go?
nice and naughty. But it didn't show it working.
They work just fine. I've seen it myself.
I gota build that ,bad ass toy !
dear Jesus wtf that's awesome
So cool
hells yeah
In Brazil we use theses engines for entry-level kart
That is awesome!!!
manual tranny helps with wear and tork timing. = the centrifugal clutch is maybe the weak link? cheap replacement. nothing else should fail it has well built full size alternator
ua-cam.com/video/_UEy9YEzeT4/v-deo.html
No brakes? Just a clutch and gas pedal?
When you have nothing but time to kill lol
Damn, I want one.
That thing is a beast needs a roll cage tho
