The belt clutch is such an obvious solution, too. I have used equipment with 40 horsepower and belt drives, it's quiet and effective. Your clutch solution is exactly how I'd do it.
Very interesting build. I wonder how a Wheel Horse 20 hp Onan twin with electric start and its PTO would do instead of that Predator? I'm pondering something alone these lines to repower an old Stepvan for use around the farm.

One thing this tractor lacks is weight. I've considered modernizing my tractor with a more powerful and lighter power plant, but the weight of the tractor has to be considered, because its a matter of physics when pulling a plow or some other implement that the tractor must have a definite mass, otherwise, the implement can hit a hard object such as a rock, then unless you have a three point hitch the tractor is going to do a wheely and roll over backwards. You still need to add weight to the front of the tractor to prevent that.
Brilliant conversion, I saw one similar where they'd put a hydraulic pump on the side pulley drive so it could work hydraulic equipment, I thought that was a good idea too

Some safety guarding before going to tractor shows. The possibilities of this is endless. Bikes and Beards you -tube videos did a similar setup with a H-D road bike frame.
An Allis B produced 22 HP belt and 19 drawbar. Not sure how gearing affects those numbers, but I don’t think a 13 go small engine will quite have the lugging power and torque of an old tractor engine. It’s cool though what your doing with these old tractors. Giving them a new life.

I like this set up I wish you would of done it with a old Wisconsin motor with a triple b power belt you could make it produce more horse power by simply changing the pully sizes one of them old v 4 cylinder electric start that little 420 13 hp makes its power at 3600 r p m s im not sure what r p m s that originally was used from factory motor that came on it but I'm sure you can get a combination of the right size pullies to get it to pull like the original or better than originally did most air cool motor s need the r p m to stay around that setting to cool it as it gets hotter idle speed you have get it up to speed to cool it or it damage the rings if you was put it working you want remember to make sure that it cooling ok with proper air flow from its designed fan blowing on the motor s feans there good little motor s for the money you can't beat them as long as you use it like it was designed for you get a long service life out of it I've got same kind on my generator and it runs 18 hours on less than 5 gallon of gas to power our TV and refrigerator two freezers lites a few fans it worked great I don't like the noise it makes though
Hello again !!! At last the full explanation came. . . . I really like the simplicity with which you solved the adaptation. Of all the ones I saw, it is the one I liked the most. If you allow me, I suggest an improvement ... and that is that the shaft is supported by 2 bearings instead of just 1, and that you join it to the box with a rubber, because of the vibrations. You may have said something like that in the video, but you know that You Tube translations aren't exactly the most reliable. I will take all your solutions to adapt mine. I send you a big greeting
Old saying simplicity is genius in its design i am a very firm believer of that and apply it to everything i build i did mention why i only used pillow block i tryed to use 2 but couldn't guess it didn't get translated but glad you liked the design and hope it helped you feel free to use any part of it just glad to help

It is much simpler than what I would have done, and perfectly solves the angle differences between the intermediate shaft and the gearbox shaft. A really brilliant solution. Now another question ... the pulley of the intermediate shaft, it should be welded to the shaft or it can be reached with a set screw, I say by the power that must pass to the shaft. @@JosePerez-qs6zh no i don't mind the translation hopefully it will help someone else with a tractor build and i did not weld the pulley it has 2 set screws and a 1/4 inch keyway once the belt is tight the belt will straighten itself and be true than you can tighten the set screws and i also designed this setup where any single piece can be removed and changed out including the pulleys just incase i wanted to change the gearing
unfortunately with the f20 the pto is so far up under the tractor you either have to make a custom shaft for it or make a pto extension so your brush hog will fit it and other tractors but i am getting ready to make a pto extension for it so a brush hogging video will be coming so stay tuned

Kind of sad seeing a Chinese motor in a revered American workhorse. At least I put a Chevy engine in my D17 Allis... Kohler engines, still made in America :)
Why not the original motor was full of water and tore apart not worth fixing beats hauling it to the crusher this thing worked good for pulling trailers and odd jobs on the farm beat the alternative

3:13 might want to keep a close eye on the main bearing cap. All that force applied by the belt tensioner is pull crank down.

If you want an Onan, I've got one. It powers a generator. Not a 20 horse, but it's yours if you want it.

Would anyone mind explaining what the need is for the secondary clutch system? Why not just use the tractor clutch?
because its not the factory engine
The factory clutch is attached to the original engine, and none of that original parts are available on the aftermarket engine.

You should take your pull start off and get you a electric drill to start it
or i could just put a battery in it and use the electric start

beat the alternative it was headed to the scrap yard when i got it than it might have been turned into a chinese motor if i wouldnt have got it
