Your first time with texture plaster art is very good! I am hoping to do one myself . I also want to thank you for sharing your feelings on video because we are all having a tough time of it to some extent. I have never been one to cry but these past two years I have never cried so much in my life. Some sad and some happy tears. A lot of self reflection and truth finding. I hope you feel better and will continue to do your DYI and really push your artistic envelope. Many Blessings!
Thankyou so much lovely! 🥰 many more fun DIYs on the way this year and definitely feeling a lot better now. Finally got to see my family last week after a year of waiting for the borders to open so really grounded / happy again. Much love to you xx
I love this! Thank you. Have you ever tried this technique on cardboard rather than canvas.. or any other material that would be cheaper but still durable enough to hold the plaster.
Great video!! And thanks for including the tools used - I'll definitely use this video as an inspiration. Just wondering, how does the painting look now? Any chipping?
This turned out beautifully!! It looks amazing. I’ve been wanting to try this technique for months and I’m so glad you made this video! Now I know what to buy in Australia 🤣 most other videos I’ve seen have been Americans and they call the materials different names over there. Thank you for sharing 🥰
You did an amazing job with that Emma! I may have to copy you.. again 😂 I have an area set up where I’ve decorated my travertine pieces and customising one of these is exactly what I need to finish the area off! I love having things that no one else has.. it makes it so personal and tells a story.. 🧡 I hope you are feeling better after everything that’s happened recently.. they always say everything happens at once and it’s so true. 🥰 Looking forward to more of your projects.. you are making my home look amazing.. 😂
Awesome. I really loved the extra texture you added at the end! I’m wondering about the longevity of this… for instance, will the plaster crack easily being on a stretched canvas?
Thanks so much! I did this almost a year ago now and it’s held up perfectly! I didn’t seal it which you definitely could to ensure longevity I have since seen people recommend that but otherwise it’s a great cheap little diy :)
What if.... you started the arch at the top, going down one way, then coming back to the top and finish the design? That way the filler is moved to the bottom edge from both directions, making clean up easier.
@@EmmaCaitlain First time I tried joint compound art today. Does it look okay? 24 x 61 centimeters. photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipN-X_ympzKfChGO1PSvJ29hXjV1e2UV5U0ZIoIH
I tried this and it failed so bad. I used the same plaster as you, did yours dry super fast? My mistake may have been doing it outside on a hot day.. yours looks amazing though!!
Sending you lots of love, I hope your okay 💜💙💜 Do you have someone you can talk to? Wow Amazzing 🌟 I love it! We are currently building our home and I'm definitely going to do a few of these down our hallway wall, I might even do the middle canvas with some natural colours like cream and brown tones, and leave the ends just white. Thanks for giving me ideas, instead of having to spend thousands of dollars on art. Lots of love to you beautiful 💓
Purely therapeutic.. love the music. Could watch this all day
❤️

I think that painting would look amazing with a black frame on it
This turned out awesome

It is so beautiful. I am wanting to do some abstract textured paintings for my home and this is the inspiration I needed!!!!!
Aw Thankyou so much Kim! I'm sure yours will look fab x
Wow it looks like something in a store! Good job. Going to try this myself!
That's so lovely, thank you! hope you enjoy creating your own little masterpiece xx
Beautiful, going to try this today. Thanks for sharing 🤎

Love it looks good 👍
Thanks 👍
sending love from the US, I loved the video & the painting I will definitely be trying my own this week
Can you paint over it or mix the paint with the filler? Tks
I love this! I would imagine u can sand it some after it dries….
Yes probably a good idea to smooth out any cracks afterwards :)
Simple and you got right into it 💕
Thankyou! x
I think I might give this a go. I’m always looking for something creative to do. Hope you’re feeling better
Love this and your art came out beautiful !!
Thank you so much!
Its very beatiful. I love it❤️

Beautiful❤ Thanks for sharing😊❤
so cool! you did an amazing job! Just wondering, do you think you can paint this after if you wanted to have it in a different colour?
Yes! I did one like that with my mum over Christmas just bought a little sample pot of paint ☺️
Nice painting ❤
Just made some of these today! Turned out amazing!! Thankyou for this video!!
Ah! Amazing 👏🏼🥰 you’re so welcome xx
I’m definitely going to try this out this weekend 💕
Great video!! And thanks for including the tools used - I'll definitely use this video as an inspiration. Just wondering, how does the painting look now? Any chipping?
Thankyou! Nope, it looks great ☺️ just as good as the day I hung it up
I'm curious about a couple of things: 1) Did you use anything to "seal" the plaster in place? 2) Did you do any others with color?
Oh wow this is amazing, you are so talented with DIY it’s insane, fair play to you girl!!
Thanks so much lovely!
勉強になりました!

I use white latex tub caulk to make textured canvas art.

Nice. I'm also trying this 👍
Could do so many different variations :)

I’ve tried on a few other canvases since and had some great results. It’s such an affordable fun project :)

Absolutely love this 😍 Does the filler start cracking or flaking off over time? I really want to try this too!!
thank you! no mine still looks great and its been months :)
MERCI ...pour votre travaille😍..et traduction française.🤗🍀
Thank you very much😍. Do I have to paint it when the varnish dries? If yes, what type of varnish?
Hello! You’re welcome. I didn’t seal it at all, no varnish just the plaster x

Hi lovely! I did mine indoors and Melbs is mostly cold so it took around 2hrs to dry. Maybe give it another go in a shady spot! X
Love it❤️❤️
Thankyou! 🥰
Should I use a sealer after drying?
Hi lovely! I didn’t and mine still looks great but it’s up to you xx
Very nice

Nice, everything...cheers
I LOVE IT! where did you get the multi purpose filler from? :)
Thankyou! 🥰 I linked everything I bought in the description box under the video (Bunnings) x
@@EmmaCaitlain Thank you!!💕
Looks amazing
Thanks so much 🥰
Looks great. Who is the singer in the background music?
It’s called golden things by Kylie daivey
I’m smiling as I’m shouting out…leave it it’s great lol.
Can you add color to the cement?
❤
Can I do this with color?
So sorry I hope you have better days.
how did you hang it up? what did you use?
3M command strips :)
Thanks, but plaster is not really the same as filler. I think you get a slightly different effect.
I’m an architect so I’m aware of the differences. This is the correct method for the canvas and mine turned out great! You should give it a go :)
My multi purpose plaster is really dry did you mix with water or anything
No, just straight on to canvas. Did you get the same brand as me?
what are u supposed to seal it with?
Nothing, I never sealed mine and it’s perfect 🙂 I’m sure there are spray on products available or varnishes etc
Hello Gorgeous Emma. Ever heard of Aelita Andre?
Hi! No I haven’t, I just looked her up. Very talented little artist!
@@EmmaCaitlain I already talked to her in social medias
Where can I buy filler or plaster?
Bunnings if in AUSTRALIA or home depot in america, basically any hardware store
What is this song?
It’s called golden things x
so carelessly
Thanks Kate. So rude 👍🏼
why are you wearing a yoga dress?
Why do you think leggings are a dress?
@@EmmaCaitlain dress as in dressed in
something.
So my question still stands:
Why are you dressed in yoga "gear" , "stuff" , "pants and top" etc. ?
@@redwarf8118 because I’m in my own home and it’s comfortable. Seems pretty straightforward.
