Ya, tightening the cap might not stop it from loosening because of so much vibration. And more than a tiny bit of thread locker might pad the cap from the handle, causing some loss of hardness. So two 1" welds opposite aughta woik. Weld 'er, welder. Thanks for showing.
Im still very much novice to flint knapping. The tool used for indirect percussion. Fo you have a video showing what you used to make it and are you just holding it between your leg and seat?
Because it's available to almost everyone and there are rumors that you can't knap effectively with steel. I've got a bunch of videos using aluminum tools also... for the same reasons.
Does the flake pattern affect the strength or use of the blade or point? The reason I ask is you favor bold flakes and some others have very specific patterns. So are they artistic or functional?
No, the flake pattern does not affect the strength of the blade or edge. You must look at the cross section for that. Some flake patterns might have been "artisic" but that cannot be proven or disproven. I prefer bold flake patterns because many real points in my area have that sort of flaking and it also saves time. Good question.
5:38 is the money shot, boys.

I don't think plumber's tape will work however I am sure JB Weld or gorilla snot will stop the cap from coming loose.
Lifes a risk, full of opportunities “
If you aneal the iron, it will be softer and the flakes will be longer

At one point this project looked like a small hand ax and no doubt could have been used as was to do many tasks.

Split cow leather. Typical work or gardening gloves.
