Just want to make it clear: I DO NOT HATE THIS CAR AND I DON'T REGRET MY PURCHASE OF THIS CAR. If you haven't already check out my video 5 THINGS I LOVE: ua-cam.com/video/_l-IMyecPBw/v-deo.html
Also my other videos. 😁✌
Literally every car has “plastic”. It’s called fiber glass.
Wow... Literally all newer vehicles have plastic... This video hurt my head to watch.
All cars these days have lot of plastic body parts . I especially hate the black plastic shiny part cause that scratches easily.
@@xavilopez4716 the weight reduction is nice tho
I agree the black plastic parts scratched way too easy. I used to own a 2020 civic hatch sport.
@@Speedslays Speed why did you get rid of it? I ask because I'm looking at the sport trim ri6ht now. What did you replace it with? Thanks!
You bought the wrong car if those are your complaints.
Honestly. He bashing his own car like he wasn’t the one who decided on it.
@@Mustang21ize and that spoiler has to go. It’s not working with the car. Lol
Basically it seems he wanted a high performance sports car at a budget price. 180bhp is pretty decent for this bracket, where 100bhp is common. Yes it’s not a type R but it’s half the price.
Typically every area of the car you mentioned being plastic is plastic on any other car. It’s not usually metal or anything other than plastic.
Lol, I can't think of a car without bumpers made from plastic.
plastic as opposed to metal lowers the overall weight of the car which makes it faster
It’s a 1.5t……wtf
@@AngeloAnarchyAntuna even more important
And in case of accident the plastic will absorb most of the shock, metal would make you tuna in a tin box
and it cost less to fix
@@AngeloAnarchyAntuna 1,5 ? with two pipes, well my 2013 is 1,8 and one pipe I can't even see :D and it is not a speeder but enough to feel safe 0-60 in about 8,3 sec :) no turbo
“the performance is lacking “ buys a cvt
If you want performance from factory don't buy a Honda, and I own the same car as him and I still love it
This hurt my head lmao all cars in the past like 15 years have tons of plastic on them smh
Ever notice that side markers are all the same color from the factory? These are DOT mandated. Any change of their color or making them less visible (smoked) is most likely a violation of state and federal laws/regulations
first off, it’s fiber glass to help keep weight low, which most cars on the market have so i don’t know why that’s a complaint. also the car doesn’t need a wing... it’s not a fast car, it’s a daily driver. the wing will just slow it down. and the performance complaint, same thing. this is also the second cheapest trim on the hatchback so you can’t expect the highest quality stuff because it’s a cheap car (24k) you cant compare this car to a car double it’s price. this is an issue i’ve seen all over youtube. just compare it to cars in its price range
I’ve never seen so much hate on a car in a comment section
- biggest thing for me: the trunk should be able to release open using the key fob!
- the infotainment system is very easily scratch prone
- no arm rest/cup holders in the back seat
- the cargo light can’t be turned off so let’s say you want to have a little picnic in the trunk or something like that
Good points!
If you go up to ex model, there are two cup holders within the center arm rest that folds down in the backseat.
@@amylynntriplechin5145 yeah, but i feel like at least that shouldve just been included bc it's not a base trim and there's not tech involved in using it
Point 1) You bought a mid-spec hatchback. Of course there's plastic. The NSX is like 120K and has plastic lol. Nobody buys Honda for interior quality.
Point 2) The car already looks aggressive enough. It doesn't need a fake wing to make it look riced..
Point 3) If you want a brand new car with over 200hp for less than £25,000, you're screwed. Affordable performance is a thing of the past if you want a current car. Even the new GTI only has 245hp and that starts at over 30k! Get a ktuner if 180 is too low damn.
Point 4) FFS mid-spec.
Point 5) Were you expecting a Bose?
Bro you seem pretty out of touch with what to expect from cars. You even threw in a ram air intake for no reason lol.
For real, there’s a difference from luxury cars and just normal😂 I love my civic and I just put a ktuner v2 on it. It’s a night and day difference
6 speed MT would of made a huge difference also....he complained about performance and bought a CVT.
or just get a motorcycle :D lots of plastic but enough power
Plastic bumpers?? Oh, the horror!
Hey brother where’d you get that wing? I’m looking to put one on my Civic Sport Touring
Bro every car’s heater works with the heat of the engine
Exactly
I think he means that it takes too long to heat up. I know my 2014 corolla will start pumping in warm air in less than 5 mins of driving.
Seems like a legit complaint to me.
This is a known problem with the 1.5 L engine. If your not driving on the highway it will never heat up... I had 2017 1.5 coupe and at -25/30 even if the engine as been heat up the car temperature would drop if sitting at idle at a stop light... recently changed for a 2021 sport sedan with the 2.0 and no problems with the heating now.
@@Mrclavet how was it to go from 1.5t to 2.0? I have a 2.0 been thinking about getting a 1.5t either the sport hatch or an si, is it that much of a difference?
thought i was the only one with the rattling noise on the speakers , every time i drive and play music it’s super annoying !
Yeah. The first time I noticed, it drove me nuts. I was pushing down near the window to maybe snap whatever was rattling back in place but nothing worked. Then my buddy had the same issue so I guess it's a normal thing with the car unfortunately.
I have it on my type r as well. Sux
@@chris_timefk8 so if I plan on blasting music ... I’m fucked ?
Get some suade tape and take off ur passenger side pillar by the window. There is a area that needs the tape and put it back together. Problem fixed
Under what rock have you been living... what car doesn't have plastic all around? Haven't you herd about plastic fenders look into that and lets talk about cutting corners after that.
Can't wait to see what you do with it , I have a 2020 sport Hatch in red im attempting to mod and its tricky one since most parts are for the type r , si and sedan models .
I agree. Thanks for the support. Stay tuned! More mods to come!
Does the trunk button on your keyfob work? I don't even know why it is there if it doesn't do anything
Good question, I never tried to use it on mine. I’ll try mine and get back to you lol
I just got my first x gen yesterday and binged watching your channel!!
Hey bro where did you get the led headlights btw nice review just bought a 2021 Honda Civic sport!
Just got a 2021 sport hatch today! Love it already.
did you put a spoiler on yours or are you going to eventually?
I don't get the complaints about the plastic. Most modern cars have plastic in all the same places. I had a 2011 WRX and it had plastic bumpers, grille, spoiler, and side skirts. The bumpers are meant to be flexible. Unless you get a car from the 80's or older, plastic is a big part of car bodies now.
My gripe is the lack of phone mount options. What’s the best option if I don’t want it mounted above the dash?
I agree with that one. I don't want mine above the dash so I got the vent mount. But I never use it cause the only convenient place is above the screen. Then the cord sometimes pushes the buttons when I have the phone hooked up.
did u do your Type R spoiler yourself or did u take it somewhere to be put on?
are the LED replacements plug n play?
By nature most Civics are all made cheaply to save on costs. To save on weight the body panels are thin. That is why they flex and dent easily. The paint and clear coat is sprayed on minimum. That is why the paint on Civics fade faster than the compare to other car manufacturers. They are made to save on gas. You pay for what you get.
Changing the bulbs to LED was also the first thing I did, I hated the look of the white LED strip paired with halogen bulbs on the headlight. . It made me uncomfortable to look at 😂.
But I love your build man! I definitely do need to get that Type R wing soon.
i own a 2020 sport hatch, and believe me the sound quality issue has very little to do with the stock speakers. in fact, i just replaced mine with $350 infinity component speakers and i could barely hear the difference. (mid and bass wise) the infinity tweeters are much crisper though. so what i think is that the stock 180W HU is just not powerful enough to drive those speakers. and about the rattling noise in the doors, i purchased sound deadening mats from amazon and insulated all 4 plastic door panels and the sheet metal of the doors, you will be amazed how good those mats are. they basically eliminated all the rattling noises. (make sure to insulate the plastic clips in the door panels as well) i took the time to insulate the door sheet metal. now when i shut my doors, they dont sound filmsy, hollow anymore...they sound solid like they are from a more expensive car.
I’ve had the bumper problem since I first got the car. The window trim also melted down and had to be replaced at the dealer. And the paint is not very good quality. I hate the CVT transmission
The 6mt is so much better!!! And the clutch is so light it’s not even a chore to be driving
Yeah. The paint is not very good on these cars. That's why I bought white so if ever my paint starts fading, it won't be as noticeable. 😅
When Karen does car reviews...
pretty much sums it up LOL
I subscribed bc i want to know whats mods u gonna install on ur fk7. I own an 20' si coupe i know theres a lot of plastic but its looks good! #savethe manual
Thanks for supporting the channel.
The hatchbacks looks amazing! But Having a cvt limits performance mods but I'm excited to push the cvt to its fullest potential.
#fuckthemanual
Thank you for the wonderful video, one thing (Plus all 5 thing you mentioned) I hate about out of factory hatchback are: not having all weather mat
Wait I got mine with all weather and regular matting. They gave me both. Must be a dealership thing?
@@fangiverlover same here, even trunk
Very well covered. Thanks!
wait you said sport mode... is this not a manual???
Good review Chris. Great to see you touched on performance. Looking forward to that vid and performance mods to come. I might follow suit with mine👍
Thanks! I'm excited on installing performance mods as well. Wanna push the CVT to its highest potential.
@@chris_timefk8 yes to many people complain about the CVT but it really isn’t to bad in this car. You can still hold simulated gears and really use all the rev range. I’ve been watching a few tests Hondata have done on it. It can handle a fair bit more Power however there is a limit. Need to find the sweet spot.
Indeed! One of these days I will test out the car with ktuner or hondata. My buddy got a sport touring cvt and already has it tuned. It's a big performance boost and I'm excited to get one on mine one day!
@@chris_timefk8 I’ve been looking into Hondata but they won’t ship to Australia. Not sure if that’s due to covid. Not sure about Ktuner
@@chris_timefk8 just had an idea. You should get your buddy with the Sports touring and do some races. Would make for a really cool vid plus give us an idea of just how much faster a tuned one is, rather than numbers on paper. How many miles on yours and how long is your warranty? (just curious)
Waiting for delivery of my ‘21 FK7, polished metal metallic color. Where did you get the Type-R spoiler and did you mount it yourself?
I installed all mods on my car pretty much myself. If you want to check out the video, look at the channel for other videos 😁
@@chris_timefk8 after I wrote the comment I saw the other vids. :) Sorry that you scratched the paint!
For best performance, I recommend a 6 speed manual!
Thanks for doing this, planning to get one myself.
But what I hate from Civic in general is that I cannot lock the doors with remote when the engine is running and I step out of the car. Even Nissan Sentra can do it.
Am I really the only one who occasionally step out of the car for a few secs w/o turning off the engine? For simple things like throwing away trash, getting my cellphone that I forgot from inside the house...
I used to do food delivery driving Sentra and that feature helped big time so I didn't have to keep turning off my car when delivering the food to customer's door...when I got back to my car I just needed to unlock my door and ready to go.
the way i thought of this car when i got it was for daily driving and not speed or drag racing. it has plenty of power for what it is, it’s a perfect daily. i would’ve gotten the type r if i were looking for some speed and power
i literally just got a hatchback today and its amazing, great car no complaints
That Type R style wing doesn’t look right. Like the dimensions of it look off/different than an OEM Type R wing
Yeah. It's a smaller wing. Looks more subtle and not so in your face like what the type r has.
The engine in this car is a lot better compared to the last two generations had the same r18 engine producing 140hp
Hey bro i got the same car where you get the wing? And fog lights?
I have a 2021 EX. Is there any speaker upgrades anyone recommends?
I dont like the rattling noise somewhere in the interior lol. Up today i cant still figure out where is it coming from.
Yeah man. Something is Def loose and it's the most annoying thing ever.
@@chris_timefk8 yeah too bad at the end of the day its a civic. But ofc i would prefer a car that would run for years rather than a nice luxury that will spend more time on the shop
The radar mechanism on the front windshield rattles.
At least you have a better stereo then mine. My sport has LX interior 😖and it’s a 2018.
Where did you buy your wing?
I enjoy my wife’s civic, I got her a tune & PRL intake, she loves it, tried to get her to get a wing but she ain’t feeling it. To much attention when she drives my CTR
Where did you buy that spoiler? Factory?
If you bought this car for performance you need to get in touch with cars again.
It's a econo car I bought mine for gas mileage as a daily. I didn't buy it to run my lawnmower against and older lawnmower.
I've got a 21 ex. Led lights would be nice. The sounds system is fine for me. I don't listen to bass heavy music that much and never thought it was bad anyways.
a sport hatch wouldnt rlly be bought for its performance, its rlly in a good spot bcs any higher then you might as well just get an si, they had to stay below it
To me I drive a 2019 Civic Hatchback and I love way it looks at every angle. The only neat picking I complained about is the dead buttons on the interior (by the gear shift and by the lane departure button) for me they should not put them there at all( I drive an EX) But majority of it works for me even with the Honda Lanewatch because of the Pillar on the right back corner
Yeah bro. The buttons don't really bother me too much. I've seen people put stickers on there's like the power up icons from Mario kart. Lol
i drive a 2019 typer R and it even has the blanks. depending on were the is being sold depends on what blanks are left.
other countries have more buttons in the car than the ones sold in the U.S.
@@bradgreen9225 true even for the EX, rather than the dead buttons in there they should had put like a sport button like what the Accord has and just take out the dead buttons in my opinion
When you want the Type R but buy the model that’s under 25k lmao
I have 2019 sport coupe. My problems are tires go flat dealer checked multiple times. My rear passenger head rest is crooked Honda didn't fix it and the gaps my God the gaps
The 2022 sport only come with a 2.0 and it cost about $1,500 more. Sad part is that Japan still offer a 1.5t 6mt with touring wheel on their LX model
Complaints 1-4 sounds like you should've bought an Si or Type R, but for what it's worth, the CVT hatch is a good daily/road trip car.
Power wouldn't be my complaint, but a lack of an LSD really sucks on canyon roads when you can feel understeer.
This IS in fact a fast car, in the corners. This chassis was not built for straight-line speed, much like its bigger sister, the Type R. The Fk7 has the exact same chassis as the Type R minus 2 welds to the frame that the Type R has. This is a fast cornering car. I do "spirited" driving with my FK7 on many mountain pass roads over here in California with many other Spirited drivers/cars and I am able to keep up with, or "pass" more expensive/ higher performing cars. you have to realize the FK7 is a tuner's car, much like the Si.
Love the video! How do I open the trunk from the inside of the car?
bought one yesterday thats what I'm looking for
@@jojoshipman5958 yes I found out you can’t. The person can press the button themselves manually as long as the car is unlocked . Ugh 🙄
I was planning to get the EX since it was a trim above the Sport, but there's no dual exhaust tips... but has a moonroof and the Sport doesn't. Going to go with the Sport because having no exhaust tips on a car is just too weird.
My same thoughts exactly !!!!! I like the sporty look but want the moonroof
@@18alissa I really wanted the moonroof too lol
There's a sport touring if you want the moon roof. It's an extra 4k.
Plus you get a couple more features like heated leather seats, LED lights.
It also has dual center exhausts!
@@chris_timefk8 yes I know 😫!!! But those are hard to come by and I honestly haven’t seen one in Georgia
Hey man it’s a nice car but I see there’s a problem with the installation of that wing, it’s sitting way too high, did you use a template to make the holes or is it glued on using 3m.
Looking at that wing was bothering me. Looks way off.
@@midicronica1 for sure it sits way too up I installed same wing on my 10th gen civic but I used a template and it came out very nice
He made a video about it I'm pretty sure it's his 5 top mods to do or whatever. But he drilled it in essentially.
And! He says it wobbles on the highway so idk if it was done right. Should of had a professional do it
@@fangiverlover I got mine from absdynamics like 2 years ago it came with a template so I followed the template and drilled exactly to sit flush with the rear of the car, not judging his ride his far is dope looking but that’s something throwing off the looks of the wing
I mean bumpers NEED to be made in plastic nowadays for pedestrian safety, but i think he meant that all the little subdivided pieces (all the little black parts of the mask, the overall black inserts and the fake vents with all the little bits around) in the body gave it a "cheap look", a point i can agree on if thats the case.
Where did you get the rear wing from?
ua-cam.com/video/AjPWL4wS8RY/v-deo.html
I drive a sport plus hatchback and I don't have any problems with the stereo... maybe go to an expert about it?
I love my 2013 took it for a long road trip this summer full pack up with camping gear and other stuff two coolers one electric, me and my wife and it just ate miles and was fun to drive on those mountain roads, the safest and most comfy car I ever owned and I had a few so far in life
Can you please tell me where I can get the LED LIGHTS AND WINGS

No offence but with all your complaints, you should've just bought a Type R
Exactly what I was thinking
Shut up
@@nvractiivez2204 why you butt hurt? He bought a 23k car and complaining like he bought a 70k or more car
@@nvractiivez2204 why mad at the end of the day it’s still just a Honda Civic and he’s complaining about lack of preformance 😂
That was my first choice but none of the dealers near me ever had one in stock. Even si. Lol
But I'm still happy with my Sport Hatchback.
What I really HATE is non Civic Type R owners using the TypeR spoiler on a regular or sport Civic....smh
All vehicles have plastic bumpers, skirts and whatnot. What did you expect? Steel? So your car would weight a ton?
I understand about the lacking performance but if that was an issue you should’ve just gotten the manual. Their tuned from the factory with more torque and its overall more engaging. And if your looking for performance the cold air would’ve netted you more gains .
Also these engines aren’t meant to idle for 10-15 minutes. You honestly just need to let it warm up for a minute or two and let it warm up gradually by driving.
Right here. I have this EXACT car in a manual, and it’s fun as hell. Not fast per se, but it can scoot if you wind it out HARD. Hitting the rev limiter etc 😂 I would never have a automatic. Especially not a CVT. Saddens me to see the younger generation embracing poke and go slush boxes.
I still like your car though!
How's the wing spoiler? does it wiggle?
A little bit. I got the cheap one and I'm looking to reach it for a better one soon.
It wiggles but barely noticeable at 50mph and up.
@@chris_timefk8 if your talking about the center part of that wing even the Type r wing moves there as well can see it when you shut the hatch
where did you get your wing?

there’s already 2 spoilers I do why people put the wing on it
2 major things i hate is ... 1st the stereo sucks, the bass sounds like its gonna pop the speakers ... 2 is the cvt transmission LAG when you come to a quick stop and then try to punch the gas , there is a slight hesitation to speed up.
i have this car and i love it!
Those side markers are a must 😭, need to get mine changed soon !!
Yeah man. Definitely the first thing everyone should change out.
I have a 2020 sport touring hatchback, and i agree with the speaker raddle in the front two doors. It seems to come from where the handle on the door has its own separate plastic piece. I'm thinking if I put a piece of black thick foam on the inside of the door when it closes it'll push there and keep the raddle down. Not a deal breaker at all and in my experience it seems a lot of new cars have this issue.
To get full boost from the turbo turn off the eco mode and put Into sport mode. My car is a manual 2020 and I love it plan on doing a prl cobra cold air intake as my first mod. The car is way more fun as a manual but it’s hard to find them as manual is less common these days.
Good thing is plastic absorbs shock way better then metal if you were to get in an accident
I ended up parting with my 2021 Civic EX hatch after a year. I bought it as a road trip/cargo car last year, which it excels at, but my 2014 Wrangler is paid off, so I wanted to enjoy not having payments for a few months (and I recouped just about every dollar in the sale). The other reason is that (as a 6'1" dude) it was a little uncomfortable to get in and out of. Well, not a little, it was actually pretty annoying lol. I also didn't like the turbo lag or whatever would cause the acceleration to lag briefly in Normal mode. Sport mode mostly resolved that, but compared to my jeep it just lacked that punchy acceleration that I prefer. I don't know enough about cars to know why the jeep seems to have better low end torque, but I think it's part the engine design and also the fact that it's useful when off-roading. Otherwise, my only real complaint was the infotainment, which was definitely not the best or intuitive. I did have one issue where the AC stopped working, but they found no leaks and it seemed to have been resolved after refilling the refrigerant. Also, there was a minor rattle on the dashboard that I never figured out (wasn't bad enough to research, but I'm sure that might have gotten annoying after a while as well). Otherwise, it was a good car with some good handling and really good fuel economy/cargo space.
you’re bass is only going to be as loud relative to your treble and mids.
lul no. my PT cruiser had way better stock bass than the new Civic does and I boosted it without kicking up treble and mid. Every time I play a song that's bassy in my friend's Civic, I expect to be bumping with the music but then get sad when I can't feel the beat. My Elantra has a better sound system at base trim, so I think his point is valid.
Saludos desde españa hermano 🇪🇸🇪🇸 yo tengo el civic sport plus del 2021
Good vid bro
There is huge difference between sports mod and D mod especially when Eco is ON.
since i have a black '21 sport hatch, i totally hate the color of the side markers. it doesnt go with the color. like its all black and then boom!!!!! orange in a sea of black. lol. i will change those out soon. for me the stereo is perfect. my previous car, a 2020 Kia Rio S, you had to turn the volume all the way up to even, get any bass thump. i dont hear the rattling since my volume is at 30 most of the time. for me tho, this car is better than my previous car, a 2020 Kia Rio S.
Dang. The rattling for me starts at 16 and higher. And yeah, the first thing anyone should do is get rid of the orange side markers!
@@chris_timefk8 ill have to ask my roommate if he notices a rattling sound as well. he bought the exact same car as me. same color and trim and style lol =P. but ill definitely ask him is he notices any noise in his car.
@@poetstud1981 was there any noise in your roommates car?
@@wafabhayani7815 I asked him and he says that he doesn't hear anything either.
@@poetstud1981 I have a 2020 sport hatch back and I don't hear rattling even when I crank to 25. That maybe because I have most of my volume along the midsection of the car.
Plastic equals less weight. Re the side markers, talk to the transit commissioner, they want orange. Engines warm up faster when u drive, all cars. U should have found a stick, and a sp touring. That's why I waited and saved before making my purchase. For me I don't trust the stock tires, they aren't sticky enough, the 540 watts in my sp touring is enough, yes there are rattles mind u. Same with the sunroof. From 6th to 4th, does surprise ppl. Pros and cons to everything.
My previous car warmed the car up minutes after I start the engine without driving. My other car (a vw golf) also does the same. But with this Honda I'd have to drive it at least 5 to 10 minutes for the inside to warm up. 🤷♂️
Maybe my car has a defect but that's how it's been since I bought it brand new.
To be fair... there's no avoiding the cheap plastic these days... my 6 gen 2SS Camaro was almost $50k new... everything's fucking plastic lol. I'm looking at picking up one of these little civics as a commuter car, they get wicked good gas mileage it looks like, and they're like around $20k brand new, that's fucking incredible to me lol.
The noise is the dash it’s common In the forums
Nice review! Just a note about plastics: the plastic parts are mostly made of ABS, Polycarbonate, or Polypropylene, plastics that resists heat well while being lightweight. If those parts were metal, then the car will be heavy, therefore making the car slow. Unless you live in a ridiculously hot environment (like a desert), the likelihood of the plastic cracking is extremely low.
For me, the one thing I hated about my 2021 Civic Hatch Sport was the halogen lights. I got so use to the bright HID lights on my old car that I struggled to drive at night with the Civic. I usually drive in poorly lit roads at night, so having bright LEDs is a must for me. I have LEDs now on my Civic, but I might change out the tail lights with aftermarket ones. Maybe Mugen-style or something. Can't wait to see how your build turns out during your ownership.
The plastic is mostly there for pedestrian collision safety. Check a regulation guide out to see how crazy auto makers standards have to be. Its the reseaon cars can't look that much different
Actually some of the 10th gen civics have the wing it is just more expensive and the wing isn’t plastic
Bro pretty sure 99% or more of cars have fibreglass bumpers it’s only very noticeable because of the contrast, I agree with the wing I got a hfp wing on my fk7 and looks way better then ones without a wing but a lot of ur complaints could be solved with buying the touring and that rattle is probably warranty should get it checked out, keep the uploads coming bro 👍🏽
Legit my 2020 model would heat up quick af an I live in northern bc. -30 weather it warmed up real fast.
This is a known problem with the 1.5 L engine. I had 2017 1.5 coupe and recently changed for a 2021 sport sedan with the 2.0 and no problems with the heating now.
Yeah personally I didn't have an issue with it one bit. I'm aware engines take awhile.to warm it. Could be far worse.
Consider yourself lucky and smart...you only paid $25,000 for all that plastic there are people shelling out two to three hundred thousand for the plastic and carbon fiber( which isn't any different) on their super cars. I will admit there might be a slight engine performance difference to justify that cost.
Get BMW It has more plastic in the engine and it costs 3 times more
I agree 100%. But i only got mine as an every day commuter.
I have the same car and they all take a while to warm up just have to get DroneMobile bro remote start is the way to go if it’s cold for your liking
I think the only bad thing about the car is the small petrol tank. I want a Civic Type R myself and the tank should be the same for both :) (I'm talking about the type R mostly I don't know if this one has more downsides but for the type R this is my only one)
both have the same size tank but be warned the Type car gets bad gas mileage and you will be filling up about every 3 days
but how's the rear visibility when backing up or changing lanes? Are the side mirrors big enough so you can see who's behind you? Will you have to add the "fish eye" mirrors and stick them on so you can see more? Is the back up camera good enough? What about the blind spot monitoring?
