Excellent work. I know you can get great shots out of a Bolex and this video shows that. We need more of these examples. Think of it. A 50+ year old, mechanical camera that can capture HD quality images that make you feel something. Yet today, there are hundreds of YT videos of digital cameras that are constantly trying to outdo each other with the latest and greatest tech. They are still chasing the elements established by these old film cameras. Would anyone of you consider buying a 10 year old digital movie camera when they just released a modern version of it. They are constantly in a state of becoming obsolete. Yet, if you take one of these old Bolex cameras and get it CLA'd, you have something to work with - as long as they keep making and processing film. IMO, the only advantages digital has is ease of use, expense, and image sharpness - not artistic value.
i mean its just not realistic to buy this camera. it's way too expensive to shoot with. Film emulation (if done right) can get close to this. Although the dynamic range of this camera is still better than most digital cameras
Hi, amazing footage. Is the slow motion on 64fps? This is a 4k scan or Telecine? Did you stabilize somehow the footage? Would love to hear some more about this. Peace!
This right here is my inspiration video for shooting 16mm film. I just ordered a Bolex and some lenses and can't wait to shoot stuff similar to this. Such an awesome video!
Spectacular footage and the music choice is original and spot on! How did you manage to hold that Bolex body so steady during the follow shots? Can't imaging doing that angle with skateboarder @ 2:01 AND looking through the viewfinder from that position :D
Heyy ! What kind of wide lenses did you use and which mount ? I guess you got a fisheye and a wide lense. Also, I’m interested if you sell some stuff. Let me know and and congrats for the showreel, really sick !
Most of the wide angle shots are from the SOM BERTHIOT 10mm. Very soft and doesn't cover the super16, but brings some magics on time to time :) No fisheye was used though. Hit me up on the gram if you need to buy some stuff. I may help
Curious what wide angle lenses your using on your super 16 bolex ? I just had one converted and I cant find any RX lenses wider than the kern 10mm that will cover the full super 16 format...
как же я не ожидал русскую песню) очень красиво ) !!!
Incredible stuff, that first shot is top class!

I can't wait to see what you'll get !
Well, thanks. Now you convinced me to switch from Super8 to 16mm. Goodbye, money. 😀
trascinante, incantevole
Nothing like some real film
analog is still the king
amazing
nice old soviet song))
also great shots!
that was a fucking awesome video
magnifique
Wonderful! Too few 16mm reels show the medium to its capacity. This one shows what it's GOOD at!
Wow!
Ray Conniff and his only album to be recorded in the Soviet Union.
Beautiful. Makes me wanna try 16mm❤
I emulate 16mm using an app called super 16 on my android phone. It's not accurate but hey it's fun to play with.
nicee
Wow I'm so impressed with the footage, I am seriously considering 16mm for my future work. Thank you for sharing!
Go for it ! You'll never regret it :)
Where do you find these wonderful tunes?

Skateboard filming is the answer :)
Phenomenal Work ! “Where did you purchase Kodak Super 16? I can’t find it anywhere.”
Real question ? I'm confused
@@GPerimony i searched on google super 16 kodak i cant find it anywhere it shows up only normal 16mm not super 16
what lab and what scanner? gorgeous stuff!
Great job on the focusing. I’m just amazed you pull it off. Because for me, bolex was worst camera in the world for focusing
What lens?

hey! amazing work... the shot on 1:18 is sublime! what lens did you use on this?
Hard to remember honestly. SOM BERTHIOT 10mm or DISTAGON 8mm :)
boss
loox thoroughly "modern" without that "mid-century antique" look .. which's cool but contemporary look with antique tools & trchniques? Even cooler👌
nice colour grading and editing ...unless this is raw scan footage
Ahah I wish ! (better scans help though)
Is that a country in Africa? Whereabouts? SA?
Some Kenya and Tanzania shots :)
Wich lenses did you use?
Mix of Switars and Som Berthiot lenses mostly :)
song name?
The little prince
Why did you decide to use this particular Russian song?
Whats the song name?
Cause I absolutely love it and it helped bringing the vibe I wanted :)
@@GPerimony Aren't you afraid that Ukrainian viewers or any other Russophobes will troll you for this?
