The ranting with the kid actually works so well with the music. They can really speak musically together.

Nice clear example of the spit - I was there right in front of David for the whole show.

Obviously this gig and song in particular are notorious in Pink Floyd lore for an incident which we all know about. What I think is particularly interesting about this performance is that even without all of Roger's unhinged anger, this is hands down the most volatile and fantastic version of Pigs from the 77 tour. Gilmour's playing is uncharacteristically fiery and Mason's drumming is violent and propulsive. As the moment where Roger teeters over the edge into madness approaches, the band pushing the intensity higher and higher until it reaches a plateau of insane energy and cathartic explosion.
Two things of note: for all of Roger's overwrought ruminating on this particular moment and how awful it was, they seem to actually be having a good time at this show. During the second half of Shine On, Dave and Roger get a case of the laughs and hardly seem like the down trodden miserable people history suggests.
Secondly, while David Gilmour stated numerous times afterwards he thought they played badly, and that it was a shame to end a tour with such a bad performance, and even sat out the Blues Encore because he was disappointed in himself and the performance in general, I truly believe this was a fantastic gig for the band. The Animals songs were sharp and precise as to be viciously effective and the slide guitar work during the last 12 or so minutes of Shine On is positively sublime.
I am a borderline obsessive Live Pink Floyd show collector and this gig, as far the band is concerned is one of the best 5 of the tour in my opinion (see also: Oakland, Boston, Munich, and Madison Square Garden NY for a particularly angry Roger---don't mess with his spotlight conductor).
But Pigs. This version of Pigs features the best guitar playing of David Gilmour's incredible career. And that's fucking impressive.

Justin Vavala This is the best version of pigs in my opinion. The other one that comes in close is Zurich 02-03-77. SUBLIME

I kinda like how it sounds slowed down. So much darker and fitting to the theme of the song

For me the harmony between Gilmour & Wright has always been the main highlight of Pink Floyd, and I do revisit this outtro improvisation a lot because it's my favorite version of Pigs.
