If a plant is stuck in a pot, just put it on the ground and roll it on the sides, it will then come out pretty easily. This breaks the friction between the root ball and the sides of the pot. If you left it in the pot that long it is probably root bound, too.
I’m pretty sure they were not root bound in the old pots. The fabric pits I had them in do have a tendency to stick a bit as well as to dry out too quickly. The plastic pots I put them in in the video are much better a d my trees are still doing quite well. It’s been over a year. I have fruit on all of them
Yes. I put the rocks in so that they wouldn’t blow over before the roots were locked in. Now I still have rocks in the pots this summer to hold down the drip tubing for the drip irrigation I set up. Of course it’s raining so much I done even need it !
I got the lemon and the lime from a gentleman who sells citrus and bonsai at the Milford Farmers Market. Starts in May. Saturday mornings by the library in Milford. The two mandarins are from Madison Citrus Nursery.
Lol I love the frogs too. We have. A mix here. Toads. Green tree frogs. Grey tree frogs and spring peepers. I’m not 100% sure which are which or if you are hearing all of them together. I always have my windows open throughout the spring so I have a natural playlist for sleeping every night !
Hi. I’m no expert on that. I would recommend the Facebook group. Growing Citrus in Containers. They are a wealth of knowledge and won’t steer you wrong. My guess is spring as the growing season is getting started but in Vegas you have longer growing seasons than I do. I would Not do it in Winter or in your HOT summer. Good luck.
@@garytravis9588 I keep my trees in my house over the winter. They are outside until the nights get to around 40. Then I bring them in. I have a southern window and I also have cheap grow lights to help them.
Black pots are horrible. If you have them out in full sun they can heat up the soil and cook the roots. Go out in the afternoon and see if your soil is getting too hot.
@@visitmybigbackyard Glad they are okay. I'm in zone 9B and temps are getting up to 90F now. The soil in my black pot were def getting well over 100F. Had to change them to white pots.
I realize they may have technically been too big but I have not had any issues from that. It’s been over a year and my trees are very healthy and fruitful

Good mix, I just did 50/50 perlite mix to avoid silting, lifting small young trees can be risky by trunk.
What are the rocks for? Keep the stems from blowing?

Did you use the rocks on the repotting at the end to keep the plant stable for a bit?
Hi. Yes. That’s what the rocks were for. I wanted them to get a chance to root in well to the new soil and not fall over .

Yeah that makes sense it’s much warmer where you live. I’m in zone 7. But a5 least you can keep yours outside year round!
