This is such a good review, thank you. Not only does it show your breath of experience, but also your depth of thought about the hobby as a whole. You’re an individual thinker who’s arrived at his thoughts through time, effort and consideration. Nothing superficial. Brilliant work.
So glad you got to review this finally, I absolutely love mine. Interestingly I've been especially enjoying listening to vinyl with it, something about it just feels so real and natural specifically on Immanis vs my other headphones with vinyl.
In my own (immanis owner) opinion it might be because the immanis is so hellishly transparent + a little cranky on high frequencies that it could highlight the slight edge of digital audio, and so maybe like a little better the natural fullness of vinyl?
Thanks a lot for the video! Good to see the comparisons with the best of the best. I've spent a little bit of time with the old Orpheus and Shangri La Sr and wanted to find headphones with similar technical abilities, but more weight and low end - and seemingly here they are. In January I'll see if they pair well with Primavera - fingers crossed.
@@AdanoZamora Susvara and HD800s, planning to get the 1266 and then upgrade the DAC which is Denafrips ares 2 to something like holo cyan 2 until i save for a rockna reference
Thank you very much for this deep dive description. You have shown the Immanis on a top tier and lower end equipment, but how is its performance between these two? Can you tell me if the combo of May KTE and Bliss can feed it with good enough food to bring out this headphones potential? And, what do you think of about an upgrade (i think it would be) from the Susvara with keeping the rest of my system? (Your video made this optical hidden hint to the Sus by focussing on it in the background. It is still difficult for me how exactly the Immanis is better than Susvara. You said the Upgrade would be this "speaker sound", not easy to imagine this description, i think i can imagine what that means, but also not easy to catch. That a headphone can "lose" any frequency response and just sounds like the real music was also unimaginable for me until i heard the Susvara the first time.) Thank you very much in advance and Merry Christmas days.
Agree, it's very amp dependent and chain dependent. Previously, you had to build into Susvara to get the most out of it, but Immanis takes it to another level. Immanis changes more per amp than any headphone I've tried. Personally, I prefer it on tubes as it really pulls out the fullness of tubes and I've tried it on 465. This is the first headphone that can do what estats do, but does it better and you don't have to give up your chain to get there.

Any thoughts about pairing Immanis with the Feliks Audio Envy? And on that note…did you ever publish a review on the Envy? Thanks for all your reviews of flagship equipment!
I have yet to hear the Immanis to roll off in the sub-bass even when paired with modest audio chains and I have tested them off Feliks Envy, Riviera AIC10 and Cayin Soul 170HA. Immanis presents top tier bass with all these 3 headphone amps. You might want to check if the transformer box or Star8 headphone cable is damaged.
I heard both the Immanis and the Magna side by side at CanJam and the Magna was my favorite headphone at the show. The Immanis was a bit too sibilant and bright in the treble region for me, and the Magnus was in the goldilocks zone of being just right, and it sounded closest to the Susvara tuning to my ears. You are the best Koji. In the loudspeaker audiophile world there is an old adage that says to spend the bulk of your budget on loudspeakers. Headphones, it seems, don’t adhere to this rule of thumb. What is your opinion on this?
