I still can’t believe she’s the villain. They did a great job hiding the fact. Cuz prior to release I kept asking “who’s gonna be the bad guy?” And they managed to make the twist genuinely shocking, at least for me.
Really frustrating that during the mission we play as her as she uncovers her trauma and the likelihood that Pantheon lied about her parents being killed by Adler (as a way of recruiting her), only for her to just revert to being a conniving evil villain with 0 conscience - and then to die is very unsatisfying from a writing perspective.... unless she didn't die in the end. She was clearly fighting the "evil" side of herself. Damn. I guess the writing team just said 'screw it' if she was appearing slightly good... she's just gonna die a conniving evil monster. Dumb. Hope she comes back and enacts her justice on Pantheon for lying to her (which is what would make more sense).
I hope so, too, even though it won't happen. I'm also frustrated with the fact that Treyarch made Jane look so physically uncanny, off and weird in both cutscene and gameplay. In my opinion, she's got the facial features of a man. And I've seen what the actress that plays her looks like. It's kind of night and day. If I could, I would've made her almost similar to her voice actress and given her a great cake on her front, just like how Treyarch gave Helen Park the memorable cake on her rear. You know what, to quote MK11 Sub Zero, "Such wasted potential."
She simply didn’t have enough in-game appearances. They should have had us go through that home invasion scene early on, perhaps as a series of short missions showcasing each operative’s critical moment in life, but with them as silent antagonists so we don’t know who is who. This way, the suspense remains, and we spend the duration of the game guessing whether that masked man was Adler.
Honestly Harrow being the mastermind was a dead giveaway from the start. It's always the asshole who's the main suspect before your "friend" is the real culprit.
To be honest, the BO6 villain can be more interesting if they show the leader of pantheon. That way they were chasing the leader, having jane as a villiain makes it a better plot twist. While Marshall and Case were chasing the leader, Jane secretly working with pantheon to modify the biological weapon. In that case, the reveal more twisted than now. Overall, its quite a nice game. It would be more twist if she was responsible for Panama '89. Like the flashback scene, she calls raul menendez that Woods and Mason do someting. Its all connected.
She was in fact the responsible for the Panama incident, gave information to Menendez who would kidnapped young David and Hudson and tricked Woods into killing Mason. So her actions got two notable Black Ops 1 characters killed and Jane got Adler framed for this, forcing him to go rogue. In Afghanistan, Kravchenko gave a last cryptic words: "He even has people in CIA.", which includes Harrow. It's a good twist.
@@ernestw2474 true, it would gave us more chills if the developers showed us the scenes how she (indirectly) kill Hudson and Mason, crippling woods, and frame adler.
Harrow, in theory, could've been a top-tier villain. Her motivations and end goal could've made her the best villain since menendez, but the pacing was off. I feel like she should've been revealed as the villain 2 or 3 levels sooner than the second last level.
*So who was it that actually killed her parents then because I’m pretty sure both the evil side of her and Pantheon were just gaslighting her into believing that it was Adler.*
No but for real though, I wonder what happened to William "Case" Calderon? I feel like Treyarch is deliberatly leaving his fate ambigious. IE: He might have managed to break out of the helicopter after strangling Harrow, or drowned.
they imply shes gone but didn't say shes dead, that means she could return in one of the seasons as a playable operator. maybe jane get scars and deformities after her fight with case?
I have no doubt that Adler only should have been the main antagonist. And at the end, in the post-credits scene, tie the plot with Menendez. Then it would have been a true Black Ops vibe.
Why does everyone always want Adler to be the bad guy? First it was “Adler is Perseus”, now it’s “Adler is the secret leader of Pantheon” or something. I don’t get it.
@@eggroll4389 he’s a freaking CIA agent, why wouldn’t he be hard to find? And furthermore, of course he plays dirty, why wouldn’t he? @@eggroll4389That logic also applies to Captain Price, you know. "We get dirty, so the world stays clean". I don't see anyone clamoring for him to be the villain, hmm?
I really wanted this to be Mason scrubbing a list of Soviet plants, “The Americans” theme, but it didn’t happen until Sep 12, 1960. He had Mason’s build, but Mason wasnt flipped until after 1961, and didn’t get out until 64. So, no rogue vendetta arc there. Still hoping her parents being doubles or plants will add to it all.
Knowing video game character bandwidth, it could be a Perseus Bell as the assassin pre Cold War. Or, a new lackey they’ll have in BO7. Timelines don’t match for any character except Hudson. For BO7, I’m going with the Pantheon splinter of the CIA inciting war for war profiteering and playing Harrow, and the Perseus splinter of the KGB wanting to counter the Gorbachev policies to keep the coals hot on Soviet power after the Afghanistan pull-out likening the August Coup by the gang of eight. They really should have had an alternate ending for Harrow and Case where she lives and they take all that on. I’m not convinced that isn’t what we’ll see.
I do not think the game's antagonist is that good as her goal feels so mundane and it isn't bigger like Menendez and Makarov (original). By the way, the twist is Jane was indirectly mentioned in Black Ops 2 as Kravchenko, before being executed in Afghanistan, cryptically said that Menendez "even has people in the C.I.A.". So it is likely that she was the one who provided the information to Menendez who kidnapped Hudson and tricked Woods in killing Mason and framed Adler as the mole for the Panama incident. I'd imagine that Woods would be even more angrier at her for indirectly got Mason killed. While I'd say this a good twist, however, like I said her goal feels so dull. Instead, the climatic part is her planning to bomb the Wall Street stock market in New York to damage the US economy, making it to face the same fate as the Soviet Union, so protagonists are driving there (we would see twin towers of the World Trade Center) to stop her.
The ending is so bad like i was expecting for the team to go to the us capital and stop the weapons as the final mission instead of some off screen dialogue
Its makes me mad that Frank Woods looks like Castro in this game and sounds like Shawn Michaels. They should've brought back James C Burns for this game because he is Woods.
I feel disappointed because Adler is doing all kinds of strange stuff and is perfect for the final plot twist of he's lying all this time to get to his goal any means possible. Pops the rescued guy first mission for some reason. All pantheon leads come from Adler. Missing half the time. Drugs to make the villain say things. It's a unsatisfying end to a spy plot which nothing is what it seems and you can't trust anyone, but instead we immediately take people in without questioning their stories and we went directly to where every clue leads us.
@@adityajadav9933Or they could fill out how he grew his cartel and cordis die. Menendez has way too much potential to disappear in '89 then suddenly reappear in '25.
