Considering we literally just got an edgy, angry Peter who isn't fully in control of his own body, I feel like superior spider-man would feel like a bit of a re-tread for this series

I can't believe I never thought of this. Every Spider-Man game has two major antagonists, the first one had Mr. Negative and Doc Ock, Miles had Roxxon and the Tinkerer, SM2 has Kraven and Venom. Now that Peter's retired, I can sort of imagine that Superior Spider-Man may become the second villain alongside Green Goblin in the third main installment.
I think we will get a superior spider-man storyline but not Otto taking peters body but miles. Releasing that miles has the better abilities and then probably later on in the game he works to clone a body and becomes the superior doctor octopus
I think they could do this but instead of Peter it's miles cause this would be too similar to the whole symbiote thing if Peter being all angry and violent towards everyone even though it's otto
I don’t think Otto will take over Peter, I think Norman will use Otto only to find out who the Spider-Men are, only to then kill him to get to Peter once he’s fully under the influence of the G-Serum.
I dont think that makes sense. Doc Ock mentioned “the final chapter”. I’m pretty sure, or at least I hope, they won’t kill Doc Ock in such a throwaway manner and that he’ll play a bigger role in the next game
If they eventually do superior Spider-Man it could be interesting if instead of taking over Peter he takes over miles. they already do their own thing with the lore so why not shake it up especially considering we just had a game where Peter is a dark version of himself let miles be the one having the mental battle for his body for once
Superior is kinda one-note for a video game that moves along with twists and turns. I think they should combine it with the clone saga and streamline the causes of the events to have more consistency, less these separate Twilight Zone origins, that beggar belief all happening to the same person randomly. They could even outright make a commentary on Peter being the one true Peter, while there's multiple Miles'. Imagine Miles Morales Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider. Then as a twist, villanous Kaine ACTUALLY pulls up being a younger Peter Parker when they all thought only Miles was ever cloned. And THAT Kaine could be Otto or Norman inside, fully believing that Peter is superior to Miles, even accounting for the powerset or personality.

I can see people giving up on this theory because of the costume, but let's not forget that Eddie Brock was present (on a card) in the first game, yet that didn't stop them from introducing Venom.
A big twist which would be kinda stupid but interesting that he takes miles body since he will be the main Spider-Man which leads to Peter coming back to being Spider-Man but I don’t think it will happen
I think this storyline would be too out there but even still, they had the superior Spiderman suit in this game so pretty much rules out this theory regardless. The reason the black suit was excluded from the 1st game is because they wanted to tell that story in the 2nd game. They didn’t leave superior Spiderman suit out of this game
I disagree. The reason the black suit was not there is because the symbiont was in that game! In the post credit scene. And if we eventually get a Superior Spider-Man in the next game, I would expect his suit to be a completely new designe anyway.
They put Miguel suits in both games and still they actually had major references to him in this one. The only reason Insomniac didn't put symbiote in the first one is because they wanted to use in the main story with its own gameplay, which doesn't make much sense but whatever.

There may be a reference too it but I highly doubt we get a true Superior Spider-man game cause that’s something an entire story would need to build on. You’d have to start laying the seeds in the beginning. Best we’ll get is either a clone or temporary control. It’s also canon that this Peter knows Superior Spider-Man and they met in the comics
I feel like a Superior Spiderman story is a little too similar to the Black Suit story. It'd be another story with Peter "not acting like himself" and everyone else (Miles) needing to bring him back.
The only theory i have about Spiderman 3 that i feel fairly confident about is how Peter could come back as Spidey. I wouldnt be surprised if Otto reveales to the world that Peter is indeed Spiderman (given he said his secret was safe with him in the first game, but Peter then left him there). Might be a stretch but i think its a very possible route for the 3rd game
I actually have believed that superior Spider-Man was an inevitability ever since the first game based primarily off of the fact that the superior suit was super highly requested and was left out seemingly intentionally because I heard only 3 suits being called for the black suit the superior suit and the amazing 2 suit
i think to not exactly retcon peters retirement and also have peter playable i think that for the first halfish of the game, doc ock will take over peters body and become superior spider-man, then for the second half, green goblin and or carnage will be the main villains, so technically there will only be 2 main villains, i think this is very possible... the only thing that could disprove this is the fact that insomniac said they didnt have the symbiote suit for the first game because they were saving it for the second, and in spider-man 2 they had the superior spider-man suit, but who knows anything could happen. also i havent watched the full video so idk if youve already said this, so if you did sorry. lol
The moment I knew Doc Ock was slowing loosing control of his muscles I was like Oh man he might try to steal Peters body and we get a Superior Spider-man game.
I think since Carnage has been set up theyll do Monster Ock. Truly the deadliest enemy the Spiders will face. Unless they make Goblin even worse than that which would be sick.
Even if the whole body swap thing doesn't happen, there will possible be some kind of body alteration happening. Maybe, Otto gives himself spider powers, or he gets a Symbiote. Maybe, Peter will have gained the strength needed to defeat Otto without the Anti-Ock suit.
@pixel8ted another idea, I thought it would be kinda neat if Chameleon upgrades his tech, so he sorta becomes a clone of his target. That way, he'd turn into a clone of Spider-Man, get stuck in that body, and go "eh, what the heck", and take up the mantle of Ben Rilley. If they did that with Doc Ock, that would kinda streamline the clone saga and the Superior Spider-Man thing.
The superior Spider-Man is the best storyline! I’ve loved it since it’s inception. It made Peter grow up. He was ambitious. No excuses. Just results! Loved it!!!
Good theory, but I think they’re going to do more with the superior Octavius instead of the superior Spider-Man, maybe with Peter retire, Miles fight this new Spider-Man and loses which causes Peter to climb out of his retirement also keep in mind in this universe. The anti-Symbiot suit is still stuck with Peter. It’s a part of him for the rest of his life so that way an Edge against Octavius.
My only thing against them making Superior Spiderman is that in the first game they didnt put the black costume because it would be in the sequel as part of the story. But in this game we do have the superior costume.
Yeah I can't see the Superior Spider-Man story going over with fans at all , I mean I'm already seeing Dan's getting upset about the recent announcement of Miles being the new main Spider-Man which u think that's not fully the case Pete will definitely be back for Spider-Man 3 but if you have Doc Ock takes Peter's body for majority of Spider-Man 3 thus leaving Peter on the back burner for most of the game until the end of it that's gonna piss people off tia whole new level, if I was Insomniac I would start clear of doing this 😂
@@doge9455 I think a lot people are misunderstanding what Insomniac is saying , Miles will just be the main Spider-Man of New York while Peter is on his break and Miles is taking care of any crimes that happen for now but once the main issue of Green Goblin and Doc Ock rears it's ugly head Peter will definitely return to give Miles much needed backup
I didn't realise that Superior Spider-Man was hated by fans. Always thought it was just One More Day, Sin's Past and the Zeb Well run that were the most hated towards fans. I guess ever since they've adapted the Superior Spider-Man storyline in the 2017 series that I've became biased with that storyline as Peter eventually gets his body back when Doc Ock couldn't handle it anymore. I generally thought that was the route they were going for due to Ock's illness and rant from the first game and the final chapter tease in the second game.
in the comics , otto as superior spiderman first made the spiderbots the spiderbots that can be found throughout the city in SM2 after finding a certain amount a dialogue plays between ganke and spidey with spidey concluding in a confused almost question like statement " so ... there's another spiderman..?"
I was talking to a buddy about this. I think the best way to pull off a superior spider-man story would be to NOT let us know about it as the player. It should be little hints of "huh petes acting weird" but not like when he had the venom suit. Very very subtle. I think a big reveal endgame would be better than if we just knew all along
Hm maybe since insomniac says miles is the main Spider-Man so maybe Otto will think Peter spiderman is retired as miles is more active he might choose miles seeing his bio electricity as more superior so yea also I think there will be a big time jump, no dlc for sm 2 and Cindy moon silk will have a spin off standalone game then SM3 happens

I would be down for this as a potential Miles Morales 2 plot. Would be interesting from a narrative perspective also from a boss battle perspective. Would be a bit redundant after Miles had to save Peter from the symbiote but still, doing it as a Miles sequel would free up SM3 to be focused exclusively on GG
I could see Otto using Peter’s body to fight Norman. With how much hatred he has for him. But narratively…I don’t see them going for this route anytime soon. They might not do it at all, considering they usually keep future story specific suits out. And since we got the superior suit is in the game, don’t see them going this route.
I think the fact that Superior is a suit in the game basically confirms they're not planning to do that storyline. Their logic was "no symbiote suits in the first game since we plan to use it" and I doubt that logic has changed
Three things about it: first, the symbiont was in that game (post-credit). Second, the symbiont was the entire plot of the second game, heavily featured in the marketing, while I think Superior could be more of a plot twist. Third, the black suit's whole deal is that it's a suit, Superior is almost like another character. I'm not saying what you are saying isn't valid, but I wouldn't say it's an end-all argument.
I do think that Otto will die at the end of Spider-Man 3... but he will give his life, which he knows is ending anyway, to save Peter and try make amends for causing the death of May. That would be a brilliant send-off for Otto. Norman has been desperately fighting against mortality with his wife, his son, and likely himself if he uses the G-Serum on himself and it has fatal consequences. Otto comes to terms that his body is dying and decides to go out as a hero rather than a villain.
I want Marvels Spider-Man 3 to be a story where Peter is the main focus and is himself for the whole game. We already have an evil Spider-Man story in the second game with the symbiote arc and I was so relieved when he got rid of the symbiote because the traditional Spidey was finally back. To have the same thing again would be pointless. I’d much rather Peter and Miles facing Doc Ock and Green Goblin.
We just had symbiote Peter in this one, if we have another dark Peter/ not Peter storyline I think it'll suck tbh, beating a dead horse. If they do, a creative way to do it is the Clone saga. Involve Both Kaine and Ben Reily have Otto switch with one of them, causing confusion as there are two Peters who act completely different. Kain could be involved with Silk and possibly Miles's antagonist in this story and we could have a pretty epic Spiders v Sinister Six for the finale. Regardless, I would like see either more Black Cat or Venom, more creative gameplay in general. Can't wait for Spider-Man 3!
Excelent vídeo. I really belive that the story could have this plot but it would be changed. Because we have to remember that Harry is in a coma, most of the villains are dead or reformed and Peter has the Anti-Venom. For that they have a really tough job ahead
Imagine a cold open to when Pete is just ruthless all of a sudden at the start of the game. And Miles thinks its the Symbiote again but it is slowly revealed that that isnt pete. Act 1 then ends with Miles Finding Otto(Pete). Act 2 then sees Miles trying to find a Way to make Peter and Otto switch Bodies again. Otto Reconciles with Pete at some Point after switching and then Boom!! Goblin Bomb. Otto dies and Tells Pete to be the Spiderman New York needs. And then Act 3 Is Peter and Miles Fighting Goblin together. Gameplaywise it would Be Act 1: „Peter“ Act 2: Miles with occasional switching to see what Otto and Peter are doing Act 3 + Open World: Free Switching between Miles and Pete
I’m sure doc oct will take over Pete’s body because in part 1 he said he’s stuck in his useless body and knowing Pete is Spider-Man … well makes him an easy target to find. I don’t believe he’ll be inside the body for long thing because of doc knowing what Pete has gone through.

Heres my theory of how its gonna happen : Norman will get otto out of jail under the guise of him rehabilitating him and having him help with harry. Then otto would get his arms back but in secret , peter might see this and feel off about it. After this peter whos in retirment here and is thriving in his life with mj (stable job as a oscrop scientist in hopes of helping harry. Here the relationship between norman and peter is developed as it was hinted at in the second game where he views him like his son. Peter here would meet otto again and is visibly distraught by the encounter as he feels somethint is off as he sees otto out of character . We then see miles dealing with normal criminals or even hydro man as that could be unique and the fight would be quite intresting in which we see miles struggling without pete showing us the toll its taking on him as hes tired and begins acting out. We then have another villain which i think will be a key player in this game which would be the chameleon who could torment miles /pete through psychological tactics and with this he makes pete come out of retirement. Thats all i can come with for now but i feel like they could use smth like this Also if this doesnt make sense then i would kinda understand as i didnt really have a specific structure in mind anyways if you enjoyed reading this then im glad🙏🗣💯💯
I've commented this before on the other prediction video. But my prediction is that they will do Superior Spider-Man WITHOUT doing the whole bodyswapping in a literal sense. Two words: CLONED PETER. I think Spider-Man 3 will very loosely adapt the Clone Saga.
I think Superior should be a spin-off game. Dr. O could use DNA samples from Spider-Man 1 Peter, himself, and the Goblin formula to not only cure himself but improve on himself. You could even bring back the original Mocap facial actor for this superior spider-man.
I don't think they would go this route, for two reasons. First: we already got that "darker Spider-Man" story on this game, I know it's different, but they could run the risk of having basically the same arc all over again. Second: we have a superior Spider-Man skin, which may not sound like much, but remember how they talked about the symbiote suit back when the first game was released, saying it wouldn't be a skin since it deserves its story to be told. I feel like if they had a superior Spider-Man on the table, they wouldn't have released a skin of it for this game.
@@pixel8ted I could definitely see it as a standalone "Miles Morales" type of game, which is a bit smaller in scale but has unique animations, stories, and characters that help to deepen the Otto and Peter relationship while also telling the story of the Superior Spider-Man. While it's also a possibility for Spider-Man 3, I think it could feel too similar to Spider-Man 2 with Peter not acting like himself for half the game. Either way, though, I am excited to see the direction Insomniac takes the story.
I feel like they might do it kinda like in the comics. I feel like doc will take advantage of peters break from spider-man to take over his body. Miles will be main spider-man for like the first third or so of the game. Doc will learn how to be a hero from the memories but most importantly from miles. He should build a relationship with miles and actually get a liking for miles. This ties to goblin finding out peter is spider-man through doc and kidnaps and tortures miles to lure him. Doc cant save him and chooses peter to be the superior spider-man and peter with the help of miles beat goblin. Idk how silk fits into this honestly
I don’t care which villains are in it or what the story is as long as Carnage is DLC for SM2. The symbiote powers were fun but I hope they’re only a thing for one game, I need my gadgets back for Peter.

I believe they will actually adapt Master Planner with Superior Spider-Man and another old story that I don't remember the name but still very in line with the others. These stories are all about Doc Ock on a big plan against Spider-Man by using him until Ock ends up defeated, and I'm 100% sure Ock will die in this 3rd game, but I think Insomniac might throw a twist here where Ock remains alive through a different body, maybe not through Peter's body, but some way he'll come back. They might introduce Living Brain as Otto's secret backup "body" and maybe even have this machine "control" Peter. I mean ""control"" as in he might take over Peter's tech and use him to his own endeavors, which would be in line with this other story in which Ock erases Peter's memory to have him as a sidekick and was adapted in the 90s animated series. This is all speculation of course, but I think it really might be it: Ock activates Living Brain before dying to use Peter to kill Norman, which would be his revenge against both, Norman dead and Peter guilty.
Imagine they gave us Cosmic Spider-Man 😭 But what i want in Spider-Man 2 is the Red Goblin, if i was making Spider-Man 3, i would save Carnage so it would bond with Norman and create the Red Goblin and a big battle between Red Goblin vs Cosmic Spider-Man
i think since insom have already made it obvious this is their story and they dont mind changing or putting their own twist on things i think the coolest way to introduce superior spiderman would be to introduce ben riley as a project by otto and norman, and they use ben to transfer otto and make him superior spiderman and by the end of the game we can have him go back to being ben riley were they can do a separate game for ben similar to the miles game
I think they'd do it but not transfer his consciousness to Peter. I think they're gonna mix the superior spiderman story with the clone saga storyline, so I feel like they'll make Jackal the main villain of the first half and he'll be working with Doc Ock to help him get a new body. It'll be cool to see Jackal kidnap Peter and clone him giving Doc Ock the clone body so after Jackal's defeat at the hand of Miles, we have Octavius stay as the superior spiderman before his defeat at the hands of Peter in the 2nd last boss fight before green goblin.
Superior Spider-Man was only a good idea before Marvel started trying to replace Peter Parker as the main Spider-Man with Miles Morales. Now I like Miles in this universe, but due to the nature of Doc Ock bodyswapping with Peter... You see what I'm getting at here? Miles is already a highly disputed character among Marvel fans with some people absolutely loving him, and others absolutely hating him. I can only imagine the backlash they'd recieve from adapting Superior Spider-Man, due to how it can be used as a cop-out to kill Peter for good and replace him with Miles. Also, the Superior Spider-Man suit is in this game anyway, so that storyline is likely deconfirmed (thank god). You know what I really want to see? Cosmic Spider-Man! That suit hasn't been in either game, so it's on the table lol

I did have a thought for how they could adapt this idea. And it'd be kind of a fusion of 2 things, cloning, and Superior Spider-Man. I mean this is VERY out there as far as ideas go, but what if next game Otto tries to create the perfect spider-person clone and uses that body to become "Superior Spider-Man". The whole cloning angle would also be a perfect way to bring back some of the now deceased villains. Wouldn't it be crazy if instead of normal enemy types for the final act of the game it's literally just clones of Spider-Mans villains? Like you run up on a crime committed by a group of Scorpions or even some Kraven clones. Obviously they'd be toned down and not full on boss fights(More like tougher regular enemies), but still, it'd be a pretty crazy way to do a finale for this trilogy of games.

Adding to it - the spider that will eventually bit Silk could a clone of the spider that bit Peter (since its suppose to be the same spider, but now that's 9 years later it wouldn't make much sense) I didn't tought about making Scorpion clones as "regular tough enemies", that's such a good idea!
It isn’t too far out there. When he first comes back, he creates a clone body using his and Peter’s DNA so that he can create a new identity and be Spider-Man without having to take Peter’s body. Soooo it’s something he did in the comics already, lol. Your idea ain’t tooooo crazy.
Well if they did, I trust that Insomniac could make it well. It would just be a shame cause it would just mean that Peter and Miles would be interacting less and be separated more, which is one of the few issues I have with Spider-Man 2 as it is.

Honestly, I wish they retextured the spider arms on the anti ock suit to look like dr octopus’ arms in the first game with the grabbers and everything.
I think if they was to do it. It will be dlc just to be save. But if they actually do it then dock as to be a more violent fighter. And they shouldn’t senser is because it would defeat the purpose. I would make it like a dlc in the third game that takes place after the story that way they don’t have to worry about how long they should keep him as spider man or it’s own little spin off game and not the main game.
Insomniac held out on giving us the symbiote suit in the first game as an unlockable and they gave us superior as an unlockable, so from that mindset it’s a little unlikely

It feels like you haven’t finished playing Spider-Man 2. I definitely agree. It seems like they’ve set up the possibility of having superior Spider-Man show up in the next game at seven point. Miles isn’t the only Spider-Man change in the comics that people hated initially and now love. The black suit Symbiot arc was also hated when it first showed up. In fact, the reason for the black suit becoming, the Symbiot suit, was because people hated the change to a black suit, when it initially appeared. now the Symbiot arc is one of the most popular arcs in the Spider-Man comics and venom is one of the most popular villains. in comics, or even a TV show the idea of having more than one sinister six arc works because it’s a longer running series but I think for movies and especially for video games it would more so hurt the franchise, then help it to redo the sinister six even if they swap out, the villains like what often happens in the sinister, six related comics. why does it feel like you didn’t play the game though? Well, of course because first Miles versus Peter is kind of already something they experimented with in this game with the venom mark and Miles having to “ save Peter“ from the Symbiot. Second reason, I don’t think you finish this game is because if you wanna finish this game and paid attention to news from the developers that has come out since the release of this game you would know that they’ve already said miles is going to be in Main Spider-Man.

I don't necessarily believe that they'll do it like the comics. I could see him transferring his consciousness into a clone combination of himself and Peter like he does later, but I don't see him taking Peter's body.
I rather hope and expect that there will be a clash with the Red Goblin (Green Goblin + Carnage) or that Carnage will connect with Doc Oc, like at the end of the first Spider-Man game.
What if they put part of it into Miles Morales 2, they have Peter comeback for a bit and then he actually gets kidnapped and then around the ending we see that Peter somehow escaped and comes back but then we get a little Easter egg that it’s actually Doc Ock that’s in Peter already somehow idk but I feel like they could do it something like that so that in Spider-Man 3 Peter is already the superior Spider-Man 🤷🏻♂️
The thing is they purposefully skipped out on any black suits in sm2018 because they wanted it to coincide with the story, I can see the ssm suit being the same, so why put it in sm2

Every Spider-Man game has two major antagonists, the first one had Mr. Negative and Doc Ock, Miles had Roxxon and the Tinkerer, SM2 has Kraven and Venom. Now that Peter's retired, I can sort of imagine that Superior Spider-Man may become the second villain alongside Green Goblin in the third main installment.
He could be the thing that kick's off the whole game like Mr. Negative and Kraven were!
He's probably gonna clone Peter and transfer his mind into that clone then BOOM Superior Spider-Man with a hint of clone saga

Superior is kinda one-note for a video game that moves along with twists and turns. I think they should combine it with the clone saga and streamline the causes of the events to have more consistency, less these separate Twilight Zone origins, that beggar belief all happening to the same person randomly.
They could even outright make a commentary on Peter being the one true Peter, while there's multiple Miles'. Imagine Miles Morales Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider. Then as a twist, villanous Kaine ACTUALLY pulls up being a younger Peter Parker when they all thought only Miles was ever cloned.
And THAT Kaine could be Otto or Norman inside, fully believing that Peter is superior to Miles, even accounting for the powerset or personality.

I think this storyline would be too out there but even still, they had the superior Spiderman suit in this game so pretty much rules out this theory regardless. The reason the black suit was excluded from the 1st game is because they wanted to tell that story in the 2nd game. They didn’t leave superior Spiderman suit out of this game

I disagree. The reason the black suit was not there is because the symbiont was in that game! In the post credit scene.

They put Miguel suits in both games and still they actually had major references to him in this one. The only reason Insomniac didn't put symbiote in the first one is because they wanted to use in the main story with its own gameplay, which doesn't make much sense but whatever.

There may be a reference too it but I highly doubt we get a true Superior Spider-man game cause that’s something an entire story would need to build on. You’d have to start laying the seeds in the beginning. Best we’ll get is either a clone or temporary control. It’s also canon that this Peter knows Superior Spider-Man and they met in the comics

I feel like a Superior Spiderman story is a little too similar to the Black Suit story. It'd be another story with Peter "not acting like himself" and everyone else (Miles) needing to bring him back.
Unless they do it with Miles and everyone knows right away and it pulls Peter out of retirement!
The only theory i have about Spiderman 3 that i feel fairly confident about is how Peter could come back as Spidey. I wouldnt be surprised if Otto reveales to the world that Peter is indeed Spiderman (given he said his secret was safe with him in the first game, but Peter then left him there). Might be a stretch but i think its a very possible route for the 3rd game

i think to not exactly retcon peters retirement and also have peter playable i think that for the first halfish of the game, doc ock will take over peters body and become superior spider-man, then for the second half, green goblin and or carnage will be the main villains, so technically there will only be 2 main villains, i think this is very possible... the only thing that could disprove this is the fact that insomniac said they didnt have the symbiote suit for the first game because they were saving it for the second, and in spider-man 2 they had the superior spider-man suit, but who knows anything could happen. also i havent watched the full video so idk if youve already said this, so if you did sorry. lol

Even if the whole body swap thing doesn't happen, there will possible be some kind of body alteration happening. Maybe, Otto gives himself spider powers, or he gets a Symbiote. Maybe, Peter will have gained the strength needed to defeat Otto without the Anti-Ock suit.

@pixel8ted another idea, I thought it would be kinda neat if Chameleon upgrades his tech, so he sorta becomes a clone of his target. That way, he'd turn into a clone of Spider-Man, get stuck in that body, and go "eh, what the heck", and take up the mantle of Ben Rilley. If they did that with Doc Ock, that would kinda streamline the clone saga and the Superior Spider-Man thing.
The superior Spider-Man is the best storyline! I’ve loved it since it’s inception. It made Peter grow up. He was ambitious. No excuses. Just results! Loved it!!!

Good theory, but I think they’re going to do more with the superior Octavius instead of the superior Spider-Man, maybe with Peter retire, Miles fight this new Spider-Man and loses which causes Peter to climb out of his retirement also keep in mind in this universe. The anti-Symbiot suit is still stuck with Peter. It’s a part of him for the rest of his life so that way an Edge against Octavius.

I didn't realise that Superior Spider-Man was hated by fans. Always thought it was just One More Day, Sin's Past and the Zeb Well run that were the most hated towards fans. I guess ever since they've adapted the Superior Spider-Man storyline in the 2017 series that I've became biased with that storyline as Peter eventually gets his body back when Doc Ock couldn't handle it anymore.
I generally thought that was the route they were going for due to Ock's illness and rant from the first game and the final chapter tease in the second game.
People were so mad, mostly because the killed the Amazing Spider-Man comic series for it and replaced it with that.

I was talking to a buddy about this. I think the best way to pull off a superior spider-man story would be to NOT let us know about it as the player. It should be little hints of "huh petes acting weird" but not like when he had the venom suit. Very very subtle. I think a big reveal endgame would be better than if we just knew all along

I think the fact that Superior is a suit in the game basically confirms they're not planning to do that storyline. Their logic was "no symbiote suits in the first game since we plan to use it" and I doubt that logic has changed
Three things about it: first, the symbiont was in that game (post-credit). Second, the symbiont was the entire plot of the second game, heavily featured in the marketing, while I think Superior could be more of a plot twist. Third, the black suit's whole deal is that it's a suit, Superior is almost like another character.
I'm not saying what you are saying isn't valid, but I wouldn't say it's an end-all argument.

Norman has been desperately fighting against mortality with his wife, his son, and likely himself if he uses the G-Serum on himself and it has fatal consequences.
Otto comes to terms that his body is dying and decides to go out as a hero rather than a villain.

I want Marvels Spider-Man 3 to be a story where Peter is the main focus and is himself for the whole game. We already have an evil Spider-Man story in the second game with the symbiote arc and I was so relieved when he got rid of the symbiote because the traditional Spidey was finally back. To have the same thing again would be pointless. I’d much rather Peter and Miles facing Doc Ock and Green Goblin.

We just had symbiote Peter in this one, if we have another dark Peter/ not Peter storyline I think it'll suck tbh, beating a dead horse. If they do, a creative way to do it is the Clone saga. Involve Both Kaine and Ben Reily have Otto switch with one of them, causing confusion as there are two Peters who act completely different.
Kain could be involved with Silk and possibly Miles's antagonist in this story and we could have a pretty epic Spiders v Sinister Six for the finale. Regardless, I would like see either more Black Cat or Venom, more creative gameplay in general. Can't wait for Spider-Man 3!

Imagine a cold open to when Pete is just ruthless all of a sudden at the start of the game. And Miles thinks its the Symbiote again but it is slowly revealed that that isnt pete. Act 1 then ends with Miles Finding Otto(Pete). Act 2 then sees Miles trying to find a Way to make Peter and Otto switch Bodies again. Otto Reconciles with Pete at some Point after switching and then Boom!! Goblin Bomb.
Otto dies and Tells Pete to be the Spiderman New York needs. And then Act 3 Is Peter and Miles Fighting Goblin together. Gameplaywise it would Be
Act 1: „Peter“
Act 2: Miles with occasional switching to see what Otto and Peter are doing
Act 3 + Open World: Free Switching between Miles and Pete

Heres my theory of how its gonna happen :
Norman will get otto out of jail under the guise of him rehabilitating him and having him help with harry.
Then otto would get his arms back but in secret , peter might see this and feel off about it.
After this peter whos in retirment here and is thriving in his life with mj (stable job as a oscrop scientist in hopes of helping harry.
Here the relationship between norman and peter is developed as it was hinted at in the second game where he views him like his son.
Peter here would meet otto again and is visibly distraught by the encounter as he feels somethint is off as he sees otto out of character .
We then see miles dealing with normal criminals or even hydro man as that could be unique and the fight would be quite intresting in which we see miles struggling without pete showing us the toll its taking on him as hes tired and begins acting out. We then have another villain which i think will be a key player in this game which would be the chameleon who could torment miles /pete through psychological tactics and with this he makes pete come out of retirement.
Thats all i can come with for now but i feel like they could use smth like this

I've commented this before on the other prediction video. But my prediction is that they will do Superior Spider-Man WITHOUT doing the whole bodyswapping in a literal sense. Two words: CLONED PETER. I think Spider-Man 3 will very loosely adapt the Clone Saga.

I think Superior should be a spin-off game. Dr. O could use DNA samples from Spider-Man 1 Peter, himself, and the Goblin formula to not only cure himself but improve on himself. You could even bring back the original Mocap facial actor for this superior spider-man.

I don't think they would go this route, for two reasons.
First: we already got that "darker Spider-Man" story on this game, I know it's different, but they could run the risk of having basically the same arc all over again.
Second: we have a superior Spider-Man skin, which may not sound like much, but remember how they talked about the symbiote suit back when the first game was released, saying it wouldn't be a skin since it deserves its story to be told. I feel like if they had a superior Spider-Man on the table, they wouldn't have released a skin of it for this game.

@@pixel8ted I could definitely see it as a standalone "Miles Morales" type of game, which is a bit smaller in scale but has unique animations, stories, and characters that help to deepen the Otto and Peter relationship while also telling the story of the Superior Spider-Man. While it's also a possibility for Spider-Man 3, I think it could feel too similar to Spider-Man 2 with Peter not acting like himself for half the game. Either way, though, I am excited to see the direction Insomniac takes the story.
I feel like they might do it kinda like in the comics. I feel like doc will take advantage of peters break from spider-man to take over his body. Miles will be main spider-man for like the first third or so of the game. Doc will learn how to be a hero from the memories but most importantly from miles. He should build a relationship with miles and actually get a liking for miles. This ties to goblin finding out peter is spider-man through doc and kidnaps and tortures miles to lure him. Doc cant save him and chooses peter to be the superior spider-man and peter with the help of miles beat goblin. Idk how silk fits into this honestly

I believe they will actually adapt Master Planner with Superior Spider-Man and another old story that I don't remember the name but still very in line with the others.
These stories are all about Doc Ock on a big plan against Spider-Man by using him until Ock ends up defeated, and I'm 100% sure Ock will die in this 3rd game, but I think Insomniac might throw a twist here where Ock remains alive through a different body, maybe not through Peter's body, but some way he'll come back.
They might introduce Living Brain as Otto's secret backup "body" and maybe even have this machine "control" Peter. I mean ""control"" as in he might take over Peter's tech and use him to his own endeavors, which would be in line with this other story in which Ock erases Peter's memory to have him as a sidekick and was adapted in the 90s animated series.
This is all speculation of course, but I think it really might be it: Ock activates Living Brain before dying to use Peter to kill Norman, which would be his revenge against both, Norman dead and Peter guilty.

i think since insom have already made it obvious this is their story and they dont mind changing or putting their own twist on things i think the coolest way to introduce superior spiderman would be to introduce ben riley as a project by otto and norman, and they use ben to transfer otto and make him superior spiderman and by the end of the game we can have him go back to being ben riley were they can do a separate game for ben similar to the miles game
I think they'd do it but not transfer his consciousness to Peter. I think they're gonna mix the superior spiderman story with the clone saga storyline, so I feel like they'll make Jackal the main villain of the first half and he'll be working with Doc Ock to help him get a new body. It'll be cool to see Jackal kidnap Peter and clone him giving Doc Ock the clone body so after Jackal's defeat at the hand of Miles, we have Octavius stay as the superior spiderman before his defeat at the hands of Peter in the 2nd last boss fight before green goblin.

Superior Spider-Man was only a good idea before Marvel started trying to replace Peter Parker as the main Spider-Man with Miles Morales. Now I like Miles in this universe, but due to the nature of Doc Ock bodyswapping with Peter... You see what I'm getting at here? Miles is already a highly disputed character among Marvel fans with some people absolutely loving him, and others absolutely hating him. I can only imagine the backlash they'd recieve from adapting Superior Spider-Man, due to how it can be used as a cop-out to kill Peter for good and replace him with Miles.
Also, the Superior Spider-Man suit is in this game anyway, so that storyline is likely deconfirmed (thank god).

I did have a thought for how they could adapt this idea. And it'd be kind of a fusion of 2 things, cloning, and Superior Spider-Man. I mean this is VERY out there as far as ideas go, but what if next game Otto tries to create the perfect spider-person clone and uses that body to become "Superior Spider-Man". The whole cloning angle would also be a perfect way to bring back some of the now deceased villains. Wouldn't it be crazy if instead of normal enemy types for the final act of the game it's literally just clones of Spider-Mans villains?
Like you run up on a crime committed by a group of Scorpions or even some Kraven clones. Obviously they'd be toned down and not full on boss fights(More like tougher regular enemies), but still, it'd be a pretty crazy way to do a finale for this trilogy of games.

That's my theory exactly!! Adding to it - the spider that will eventually bit Silk could a clone of the spider that bit Peter (since its suppose to be the same spider, but now that's 9 years later it wouldn't make much sense)

It isn’t too far out there. When he first comes back, he creates a clone body using his and Peter’s DNA so that he can create a new identity and be Spider-Man without having to take Peter’s body. Soooo it’s something he did in the comics already, lol. Your idea ain’t tooooo crazy.

Well if they did, I trust that Insomniac could make it well. It would just be a shame cause it would just mean that Peter and Miles would be interacting less and be separated more, which is one of the few issues I have with Spider-Man 2 as it is.

I highly doubt it, if insomniac didn’t give us the black suit in the first just so they could give it its own game, I doubt they will make a game on a suit we already have

Honestly, I wish they retextured the spider arms on the anti ock suit to look like dr octopus’ arms in the first game with the grabbers and everything.

I think if they was to do it. It will be dlc just to be save. But if they actually do it then dock as to be a more violent fighter. And they shouldn’t senser is because it would defeat the purpose. I would make it like a dlc in the third game that takes place after the story that way they don’t have to worry about how long they should keep him as spider man or it’s own little spin off game and not the main game.

Insomniac held out on giving us the symbiote suit in the first game as an unlockable and they gave us superior as an unlockable, so from that mindset it’s a little unlikely

It looks like is lean up to what happened in the ultimate comics In the spider man story, if anyone has ever read the ultimate universe of 1610 Then they know the story of what happened in that final fight with spider-man in green goblin It sounds like to me maybe a potential Revamp version of the senator six I can't see that, but no superior spider man It was a goofy storyline. It was okay but it wasn't like genuinely peter parker's /spider man story In a small way it was but you have Otto In the mind of spider man that's not cool. When he said the final chapter i'm thinking like endgame Like they have to like punish spider man before they actually break him

i think how spider man 1 didn't have the black suit cause they saved it for spider man 2 as the main plot while spider man 2 had the Superior Spider-Man, meaning we wont be getting this plot at all in the next game. id like to be wrong though.

It feels like you haven’t finished playing Spider-Man 2. I definitely agree. It seems like they’ve set up the possibility of having superior Spider-Man show up in the next game at seven point. Miles isn’t the only Spider-Man change in the comics that people hated initially and now love. The black suit Symbiot arc was also hated when it first showed up. In fact, the reason for the black suit becoming, the Symbiot suit, was because people hated the change to a black suit, when it initially appeared. now the Symbiot arc is one of the most popular arcs in the Spider-Man comics and venom is one of the most popular villains. in comics, or even a TV show the idea of having more than one sinister six arc works because it’s a longer running series but I think for movies and especially for video games it would more so hurt the franchise, then help it to redo the sinister six even if they swap out, the villains like what often happens in the sinister, six related comics. why does it feel like you didn’t play the game though? Well, of course because first Miles versus Peter is kind of already something they experimented with in this game with the venom mark and Miles having to “ save Peter“ from the Symbiot. Second reason, I don’t think you finish this game is because if you wanna finish this game and paid attention to news from the developers that has come out since the release of this game you would know that they’ve already said miles is going to be in Main Spider-Man.
I hope they dont do that. Doc Ock pulling a Captain Ginyu would be a very strange route for them to go in. Especially if things stay like that without them swapping back.

I don't necessarily believe that they'll do it like the comics. I could see him transferring his consciousness into a clone combination of himself and Peter like he does later, but I don't see him taking Peter's body.
Peter should be OP with the Anti Venom goo. The villains will need more than just brute force to kill him
I feel like they have to have him lose that suite in his third game. It's to powerful I think to keep forever.
I rather hope and expect that there will be a clash with the Red Goblin (Green Goblin + Carnage) or that Carnage will connect with Doc Oc, like at the end of the first Spider-Man game.

What if they put part of it into Miles Morales 2, they have Peter comeback for a bit and then he actually gets kidnapped and then around the ending we see that Peter somehow escaped and comes back but then we get a little Easter egg that it’s actually Doc Ock that’s in Peter already somehow idk but I feel like they could do it something like that so that in Spider-Man 3 Peter is already the superior Spider-Man 🤷🏻♂️

I believe since they have the Spiderman Life Story series outfits Ock will steal Miles body to become superior spiderman and later give his body back.
The thing is they purposefully skipped out on any black suits in sm2018 because they wanted it to coincide with the story, I can see the ssm suit being the same, so why put it in sm2
