I love how they changed the green and red shell, the Green shell is a multi attack (and can only hit ground enemies), and Red shell is one strong hit (and it can hit flying enemies). I'm glad they made them different
Apparently the green shell was different from the red shell in previous games too. The green shell would randomly hit different enemies (if there were multiple), and the red shell only hit the enemy it targeted. I only just learned this from the last Brothership trailer

I guess that's one way to make them different...especially since they're not kicking the shell at the enemies, but back and forth. So it's only the finisher that's different.

Legitimately, the voice overs for a lot of Nintendo games on the Switch sound like people who do not care about the game or just being excited about the read. This is outstanding for this game. It's pushing over the top, and I think that's how the feel of this kind of Mario game should be.

So many people ever since like ps3 era have said “wow this is so realistic its what I always imagined games could look like!” That’s fine and all, but this, this is what I always imagined games could look like. Its beautiful. So wiggly and jiggly, so colorful, so energetically stylized. Its just pure joy.
When i was younger I hated this style, I was too cool and edgy, and now that I'm 35, I love this style. Don't get me wrong, I love a graphical marvel, ex. Horizon forbidden west, but this right here is amazing. This kinda style is what I prefer. It's just so much more alive imo.
Being able to finally see the visuals look exactly how they intended it to look like in-game is a great step forward! 😃 The pixel art was nice and all but seeing Masanori Sato's box art come to life is just something else. 🙏 I just wish that if the Switch 2 is pretty much the OG Switch with better hardware, they'd create an "enhanced" patch for this game -- there are some textures that make the game look like an emulated 3DS game. 🙏

My only concern with this game is the way the islands are discovered. Having the ability to maneuver the ship and discover islands when you choose makes me feel like they want to the game to be less linear (which is fine), but if the whole plot is "Bring the island back together" however you choose and at a certain number of conquered islands a story beat happens, that creates a real disconnect between the gameplay and story. I'd much rather the game tell me "Go here. Explore. Do story. Now go here . Explore. Do story." and have the two work in tandem rather than the game say "Hey it's been 4 hours, uhh SOMETHINGS HAPPENING!". Other than that, I can't wait! I love this series and will be buying DAY 1!

i do think the way they handled ship travel makes sense, based on some hands on impressions ive watched while your ship is traveling, that's basically your time to shop and talk to npcs on your ship and start sidequests etc. and i think having to do more in depth ship travel while having that going on would be a bit too busy
I do wonder if Bowser will be the final boss here or not...since in Dream Team there was a new antagonist that teams up with Bowser, but it turns out at the very end Bowser ditches him so he could have the power all to himself. So you end up fighting Bowser as the final boss. So yeah, I'm just wondering if they'll do something like that again...honestly I'm fine with it since there was still a new antagonist in the game, so, whatever...I liked that plot-twist at the end, too. xD
