That's exactly what I need. The Septuagint and Greek New Testament(byzantine text) are my absolute favorites. I usually read them on my phone and sometimes print them for more study without distractions.
This hardcover edition reminds me of a Modern Greek Bible that I purchased a few years ago to help fill in the gaps regarding my linguistic skills. It’s published by the Trinitarian Bible Society, and it’s called the Bambas Bible. It uses the same source texts as the KJV, which makes comparing passages between the two languages relatively easy. It was translated into the Katharevousa dialect of Modern Greek, which is the dialect commonly used in a very formal and dignified public address. As I compared it with my Greek New Testament, I found that the Katharevousa dialect of Modern Greek is remarkably similar to Koine Greek itself. I suppose one of the closest English examples of this phenomenon would be the Wycliffe Bible - the spelling may be remarkably different, there may be a few difficult words here and there, but the meaning soon becomes very clear when you recite it aloud to yourself and let the message sink in.
Yay. Was just wondering yesterday when I would be seeing a new video from you. I genuinely get excited because I really love your content. Also, curious what knife that is that you are using. I happen to be a knife guy and have a love and fascination for knives. As Im writing this I just remembered that you are a tradesman and probably use a knife regularly in your line of work. I actually probably watch way too many UA-cam videos of people reviewing knives and using knives to open amazom packages of the new knife they just ordered in order to review it. 😂 Anyways, I couldn't tell what knife it was but looks like a decent tool. God bless you brother and I hope you are having a great weekend.
Thanks very much! I’m a knife guy too. This one isn’t too special though. It’s a Buck knife. I generally carry my Leatherman, but it has gone missing in action 😂.
@@BiblicalStudiesandReviews I'm sorry to hear that. I need to get a leatherman one of these days. Buck makes great knives and they do a good heat treat and they are all American. One of these days I need to get a Buck 110 or 112. They have them in their custom shop so you can pick and choose the parts you want. Always fun to find out that a brother enjoys a good knife!
I tried twice to post comment with links to other Greek bookstores (I know them very well) for this book with cheaper shipping for anyone interested, some algorithm or something keeps deleting the comment 😢 Reach out if you need the info...
Cool! If that volume has 2 Maccabees in it, look at the verse 2:7. There you will find the third and final time where the Greek word "episunagoge" appears in the holy scriptures. If you will notice the context of that verse, then you will have the context of the other 2 places where that special word appears. 1Thess 2:1 and Heb 10:25. It is a compound word meaning "upper-gathering."
@@HansTyndale Not the rapture, but rather the gathering that occurs right after the coming of the Lord. MT 24:30,31 corresponds with 2Thess 2:1 and 1Thess 4:15-18. Its all the same event.
Stephen, I looked for a link that tells us where an order for the Septuagint/Greek New Testament Bible can be ordered, and the price. If you have time please tell us where to place the order and what the price is for the Bible. I have also looked for the Septuagint/Nestle-Aland Greek Bible which is thicker in size, but a little more compact. Is it still available? Thanks so much for this video.
Hi friend! Here is the link www.osotir.org/product/i-agia-grafi/. It cost me about $60 USD after shipping. The shipping was expensive. The print quality is not perfect. But acceptable.
I released this a little before the better resolution images were availability. I also think the font is smaller than I said in the video.
The Old Testament part is not a translation into modern Greek is it? Just wanted to make sure its a real LXX before I buy one.
@@chadhunley5892 nope it’s in Koine.

Thanks for letting me know. I just purchased a copy.
@@chadhunley5892 cool! Hope you like it!
Wasn't the Septuagint written by the 70 Jewish scholars in the same Koine Greek the Apostles wrote the New Testament?

I was unaware of this. Great find!
I’ve had one of these for a few years now. It’s nice.
I didn’t even know it existed until a few days back
Very nice looking Bible!

Wow, it looks great! Are you planning on doing a full review? If not can I have some thoughts given you've had it now for a month :)

Hi brother, thanks for your content. I was just wondering what your recommendation would be for a copy of the Septuagint? Thanks in advance

Hi, where did you get your hands on the Deutsche-Bibelgesellschaft Biblia Graeca that you reference/is on the shelf behind you?
Recently got my Lanier Readers Septuagint to go with my THGNT. I’ll keep this in mind when I’m ready to pick up a Byzantine text.
The Reader’s edition is super nice.
Do you have any more information on the textual basis underlying this Bible?
Do you have a link to buy it ? Thank you very much
I have it in the description. Let me know if you can’t find it.
Yeah now its ok, thanks
The main thing I learned from this video is, I don't trust you with a knife.
But, nice find on the Bible.
😂
haha, you're channel gonna be costing me more money! 🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha! You get all these neat review copies though. I’m too shy to ask I guess 😂
OK, I just bought one. They ought to give you an affiliate link haha
They should!
