How to fix a DROWNED WICK/LOST WICK 🖤

- Yesterday I tried to power burn through my final “formula” and got a sinkhole 😑 This ended up drowning both my wicks, one VERY much deeper in the wax than the other. I used a wick trimming to put into the liquid wax (if you have a heat gun you can heat up the wax to liquefy it) right beside my drowned wick and lit the end of that wick to burn down the candle until it eventually ignited the other two wicks. That all sounds very confusing so hopefully, my video will explain this a little better 😂
Here are the tweezers I use to take the wick out: amzn.to/3vbXQjB
And some extra wicks you can buy and keep on hand: amzn.to/3uSkoeA
Thank you guys for watching and always being so supportive 🤍

Thanx so much for this vid Sarah........i must chuckle, because i had no idea there was such an effort/science behind burning a candle. Being a "typical guy" (lol) i always thought 1) light my scented candle(s). 2) let it/them burn until the room smells nice. 3) blow it out. WRONG!! I have a sweet dinner & movie date tomorrow night at my place, and brought out my scented candles to create a nice ambiance and scent in my entertainment room. The tunneling on my candles are just starting to happen......i just found out the first time you light a new candle, let it burn for a minimum of 2 hrs to melt all the wax in circumference of the glass. So, i just fixed this by putting them in my oven (on a low heat!) until the wax all melted evenly. Now the wicks are a little bit buried, but not too bad (they are visible, close to the surface). So, tomorrow i am going to try the hair-dryer method (high heat/low power) along with tweezers to pull and straighten the wicks up. See what some of us guys will do to impress a woman?? Lol (j/k). Cheers to you, and thanx for this great tip :)
Oh that’s sweet 🤣 and I’m so glad it was helpful! The oven method is a good way to get the wax to lower a bit at well, I’m always worried it’ll light the wicks when I’m not watching 🤣
@@EclipseBotanica no, you're fine hun.......150 degrees for roughly 10 mins did/does the trick. I usually eat an apple while watching the oven window lol. Cheers :)
I'm a woman and feel the same way!
Just wanted to let you know your video saved one of my candles. Thank you so much for sharing. ❤
I'm so glad!
I literally just followed your advice and it worked for me. Glad I didn't have to transfer wax into a different vessel with a new wick (so annoying). Great tip!
Good I’m so glad 🤍

This was very helpful! Ty!
Thank you! Great idea! It took awhile to find this video, so it’s a common problem. This is the easiest solution I’ve found. Thank you sm!
You're welcome!
That's a fantastic idea! Just broke a wick on one of mine and going to need to do this. Thanks!
Glad I could help!
I have a candle that I think is beyond saving. Not just a sink hole but has, like, wax walls. I’m going to purchase some wixs and give it a go! Thanks so much!
Oh no! It sounds like your candle is tunneling, be sure to burn the candle all the way to the edges every time it’s lit, that helps with the wax walls
Thank you so simple and it did work well.
Thank you so so so much! I wouldn't have ever thought of that and I like the candle lingo!! I'd think all candles should have that little piece of wick included?! Do I have to hold it until the fire meets the drown wick?
Yes you want to make sure the new little piece of wick catches the flame 😊
Crafty and smart and you look like Alexa Bliss! Thank you
😂 you’re so sweet!
2:32 me everyday with everything I do
😂
Thank you for this information
Thank you!
This is such a good idea but I wonder if it lasts or does another puddle form and drown the wick when it burns down enough? Curious what others have found. Should I expect to repeat this fix?
I'm finding that commercial candles, even the expensive ones, seem to have inferior quality wicks that don't last as long as the wax. Once about a third of the wax is gone, the wick is practically burned away. I've tried dumping out excess wax and it helps but only for a little while before the wick is gone again.
How do you fix a wick that won't stay lit and fizzles when you do light it?
That depends on what the issue is, if you can add a taller wick to help melt the wax down it can be fixed, if your candle is tunneling I’m not sure if there is a way to fix that I’m afraid! 🥺
Cool info for sure. Can umake a tutorial on fix a lost wick, still half candle exists. Here's the dig...what if ur candle liquid wax has gone solid? Do u have a miracle process or a majic wand?? 😂 seriously.....
Lol, thanks. Love the lightsaber in the back
You may be the first person to notice that lol thank you!
@@EclipseBotanica I'm just a huge nerd and SW is one of my things 😅
Same 🖤
Thanks for sharing that, I have a question that tin jar that you had on the side of the candle that you were working on It had two wick how many ounces is that tin can? just curious about the 2 wick in the tin can I’ve never seen 2 in a tin can just 1.
It’s an 8 oz tin, I’ve got 6 oz of wax in it 🤍
This is happening to my candle but i dont have wicks
Thank you!!!!!!
Ofcourse!!!!
So what did you use then to make your way cuz right now I'm just using a shoestring and it is not working
I’m using a piece of a wick
What if I have a small business and don’t want any bad reviews? I mean I can fix it myself but I wouldn’t want my customers to go through that hassle.. ;/
You could add something explaining this on the candle care card maybe?
You are beautiful 😊
