G’day Mate, that’s a very good design and a practical manufacturing process. The digital mic is a bit of a handful, but as much as I like to see PPE, are the gloves making life easier and safer? Better to be safe than sorry. Keep busy and ride safe.
Hi Graham. Gloves? They aren’t a “catch” hazard. I wear them to stop my hands getting impregnated with hot cutting oil. My little setup doesn’t use flood coolant so I use cutting oil instead.
There's a dirt cheap die-cast mini-vice which clamps to a table edge. They're poorly made with a sloppy grip and cost well under $10. For holding a caliper, however, they're more than satisfactory. I believe they're sold on Amazon, eBay and occasionally at dollar stores.
