- As professional athletes coming into any professional sports, you don't get to determine where you will play for the first years of your career. You don't get to pick your coach, teammates, GM or fans like you do in college. Sometimes it works out for you and sometimes it doesn't. Here's an athlete it didn't workout for as of now. Here's 3 reasons why I think their growth was abruptly stunted. Who knows, maybe they'll return to form. I sure hope so. Thank you for watching. Man I been a Hornet fan since my family moved to Charlotte in the 90s. Its so difficult following this team while MJ has been the owner. Trading Gerald Wallace for nothing. Bad draft pick after bad draft pick. Paying mediocre players so that they get stuck in the middle of the standings and can't get high lottery picks. Now he refused to pay Kemba what he deserves and traded him for Terry Rozier, another mediocre player that's gonna be overpaid! I finally threw in the towel man I'm just jumping on the Celtics band wagon at this point because this franchise is hopeless. Its a shame too because NC loves its basketball. I have no doubt people would support this team if they weren't so awful.

Being a greate player and judging other players & developing them are 2 different things. Being a great player the player can control how hard they work study film. Judging if a player has talent, and developing talent is really difficult for great players, because they can't see the scope of work that each player has to do to reach their ceiling or close to it.

I agree. But that's what comes with the territory of being a great player, you're expected to know basketball and know talent. Who better to ask about basketball than the greatest. Those other guys have no expectations because they weren't the basketball players MJ was. James Jones? He may not be making the picks, but he's still the one that signs off on it. It's his team, he's the best basketball mind we've seen and he can't get it done off the court. He has to get most blame just as the world would love him if he was winning as an owner.

Market size has nothing to do with it. The Golden State Warriors are in a small market and they are 3X champs and very popular. Besides, teams like the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls cannot attract big name free agents. At the end of the day it's your owner/front office that determines your success.

Stunted growth let's keep this 200. MJ's problem is himself and his level of basketball excellence on the court. This has not only made him a bad owner but also a bad example to his two sons that probably said to themselves that the stakes are too high to even be average to their pops. He also seems to be drafting players that can't be better than him that's sucks. Then put on top of the one theory that was given by president Teddy Roosevelt when he said 'If you're ever at a level of leadership, hire people that are better than you and smarter than you!' MJ had friends around him that was not bold enough to tell him that his draft/player selection in the past is ass players stealing 💰 and it's time to hire and pay a GM that can get great players that can still help make a DEEP playoff run. Every WB MJ drafted Fred, him, and that Carolina connected staff was looking at how NC supporting and wanting WB's thinking they would be the catalyst for which white people would support the sport. Another fucked up mistake because MJ being a owner of color already got him behind the 8ball and it would be different if his white players were productive like McCaffrey or the linebacker from the Carolina Panthers but from Adam Morrison, Tyler, and Frank you are paying for whiteness and losing money. Kemba Walker saw the plane about to crash into the mountain and GTFO of Charlotte. In the end it's great to be an owner but you got to be in an area where they are really missing the sport. If Bob Johnson would own a team now I'm sure he would be in Seattle asafp to get the crowd and the money. Now Jordan is selling parts of the ownership but still wants to have control.
