I think everyone has had that point where they just don't want to eat a screw up they made, or realized that a single chop would have kept the AI from stealing a critical wonder. I'd rather see him be honest than try to play off being perfect all the time.
i know these comments sound cliche, but seeing your videos in my notifications and hearing your intro greeting puts a smile on my face and immediately improves my day. your civ videos are just so delightful.
Georgia is one of my favourite civs, although I will happily admit that I have a bias towards faith-heavy choices. One cool thing about Georgia that I've never heard any one else talk about is that because they don't have a special tile improvement, they have more room to utilize city-state tile improvements (which they have no trouble getting!). To that end, *get Armagh on side, my dude!*
I’m glad to see Georgia get some love… I love playing the Civ and have always found them to be quite decent. Learning how to farm Era score and strategically place Envoys and they’re very powerful… and the Tsikhe is a terrific building! The double Envoy with religion bonus is my favorite ability in the entire game.
The city state you can never pronounce is pronounced like Eye-You-Tie-Yah. It was where Thailand is now and they had elephant warriors like the Khmer. I only know that from visiting Thailand a few years ago.
Love the pettiness of restarting even though Egypt didn't take the religious beliefs you wanted. It was never about Feed the World, just about owning Stone Henge! I do admire your restraint to not restart again once you realised Fountain of Youth was so close by. I think getting Astrology in half the time would have secured Stone Henge without having to sacrifice resources to it. I'm a big fan of faith eco Civs but I've never really grasped how to use Georgia properly, looking forward to another Ursa Master Class.
i want to point out i'm first cause i got jumpscare by the notification and clicked on it accidently, don't regret it tho, i know i will enjoy this video cause it's my boy ursa
Just to say… I’m currently in Georgia and had dinner inside one of Tamar’s renaissance walls. Those things were damned sturdy! I also discovered that in Georgia, Tamar is “King Tamar… yes a KING”. Move over Jadwiga.
I find it genuinely interesting to see how small (or not so small) changes to a few turns can affect the game. For example, in one of my games I found that settling my second city one or two tiles further away from the AI made the difference between whether or not they declared an early war on me. Testing that out means that I now better understand how the AI behaves, so it can be valuable to try alternative plays, "cheaty" or not.
Considering I don’t see any other Civs choosing Papal Primacy, I kind of wish they had just moved it over into Georgia’s unique abilities since it seems to sync with her only. I enjoy your channel!

@@UrsaRyan can't beat an Ursa "Huzzah!". Just started watching your videos recently after watching a Boesthius video where he mentioned you. Thoroughly, thoroughly enjoying your content, thanks for the great videos!
I feel like you missed a great opportunity to relic spam by not putting Amani in Kandy. You had so many scouts traveling around that it would have definitely been worth trying.
Georgia's double envoy ability only works when your religion is the majority religion within your empire. This has messed me up so many times in my playthroughs
On the first attempt, I think if you wouldn't of sacrificed your builder, but fortified your slinger on top of him (or maybe hit the barb), the slinger would of survived. Then you could chop a second forest to the right to get Stonehenge.
I saw that start and immediately thought: Ruhr valley. I don't know if you're going for it, but as a German I really want to see you rush it, just one of my favorite wonders (regardless of my nationality😂)
I wouldn't say Georgia is bad, however their abilities don't mesh the best. It's not a bad thing, but there is a definite way how to play them, it's just about mastering that playstyle.
I think they just need a little bit more. Just a nudge. Their defensive abilities are good and te extra envoy is also good but every other civ gets so much more. Its like with Norway before their (in my eyes) insane buff.
One of the things that I hate most about Georgia is that their unique wall isn't classed as a "renaissance" wall, so you can't use the policy card (Military research) that gives you science from renaissance walls, which would be perfect for them considering that you don't typically build many campuses and also how fast they build walls.
@@UrsaRyan It was over a year ago when I last played them, so maybe it has been fixed, but I just felt so disappointed when I unlocked it and it didn't work.
Coulda blocked Cree expansion by keeping the warrior on the woods/Rainforest tile at the bottleneck. Exactly four tiles from the nearest city, they could only get past with either Shipbuilding or a DoW, which the warrior would be an early alert for, defending on a good tile, only able to be attacked by one other unit.
Yeah very true! When you have this much space on maps though having a city settle so close to your capital opten isn't bad - you can loyalty pressure them over later
@@UrsaRyan I saw that in your second video. I personally can play on Deity, but I don't like it. I tend to play absolutely paranoid. If I can do something to hamper the AI from expanding near me, I'll do it. I'm more worried about failing long-term than getting in over my head early. I can always restart. So I tend to use my warriors as peacetime blockers if I can.
Himiko and Georgia can synergize really well. If the city-state has Georgia's religion, her 1 free envoy ability would turn to 2 free envoys. If you use her envoy ability on a city state that's already under your control, you get some faith reimbursement. Ancient-Classical era 50-75+ faith. That's almost half a missionary there so you can continue to spread your religion and influence over city states. So with adding another two envoys in the city-state, you can easily secure your control on the city state in the early-middle game. This can make for some nice ambush strategies against a neighboring civ whether if it's for defense or offense. Also doubly satisfying when they spent money to levy the troops then they lose control. The era score being the cherry on top. With secret societies, I think Owls of Minerva would fit Georgia better than Voidsingers. Owls would be more flexible on what kind of game or strategy you want to employ.
Ursa hello i am a follower since almost 2 years i love your videos, may i suggest a pacifist domination victory with France Eleanor against the most powerful civs like Russia, Grand Colombia, Rome, Scythia, Babylon, Khmer and Japan... PLEASE!!
question: why re-start instead of going back, say 1-2 turns and chopping a turn early so you can get 2 chops? Or, do you think the Warrior really would take out the Slinger in one turn? Maybe take the hit with the Slinger so the Builder can chop a second tile in place and then pull Slinger back to capitol?
Perfect example of why I never try to build early game wonders. The troll AI just has so much free production and it makes me so mad to lose wonders I just avoid it lol.
I like that Ursa Ryan doesn't hide the fact that he save-scums or tries anew sometimes. Just shows that he is just like the rest of us, really

King Arthur: By the grace of God, we have spawned right next to a 5-2 tile.
Sir Robin: Three, Sir.
Such a good start!

I really need to get better at farming era score to get a good Georgia game
Keep watching Ursa - he's pretty good at Era score.
Ok, I’ve seen a Greece/owls game, but a Georgia/owls game? That would be interesting.

Once you get the playstyle though - they are so much fun
I played Georgia expanded last weekend, so much fun. The great people points from city states was so strong and kept up with a smaller empire
that's awesome!
I think they just need a little bit more. Just a nudge. Their defensive abilities are good and te extra envoy is also good but every other civ gets so much more.

I think this was patched - to my knowledge, the card now works as intended - it also works with the later game fascism card and the monarchy legacy
@@UrsaRyan It was over a year ago when I last played them, so maybe it has been fixed, but I just felt so disappointed when I unlocked it and it didn't work.
