Karmini, I am not a animal nutrition expert. What I feed my dogs would not be acceptable to some people and what they feed their dogs would be not affordable to me. I feed them based on circumstance such as pregnancy or maintenance and stage of life. I keep my puppies much thinner than the 'norm' and I never have elbow or hip issues. My dogs chew on real, unprocessed animal skin and uncooked bones, eat birds with their feathers and live rather close to nature. I don't even know the brand names of the main commercial brands of kibble.... Sorry... I am the wrong person to ask about that.
Hi Johan - Can you also do a video about the growth of the boerboel head/skull and what age it gets to its max width etc. My male is 11 months old 68 cm at the shoulders, about 61kg but the head is 56cm (10 months) so when should it all equal each other etc in years on average. Many Thanks for these videos
I am not a commercial breeder. I have a lot of inquiries from Europe and I will have to make some special arrangements to send puppies over. I have a litter at the moment but I am going to sell all of them locally.
@Fred Ngeri Junior it is called inbreeding. It is genetically exactly the same as when a human boy and his sister have a child. Don't you think that will be a huge risk for the family? Exactly the same risks are there when you mate a boy dog with his sister. I will soon do a video about this.
Studying your videos has almost become religion for me. I deeply appreciate them, because I love the Boerboel. Question please.. do you do natural breeding or artificial insemination for your dogs, and which do you prefer or have higher success rate with? Thank you continually..
Kumetu, thank you for your kind words. I prefer natural making but sometimes AI is necessary to get the DNA of a desired dog into your line. I am currently busy with a project where I will hopefully be sending one of my best female dogs to the USA for artificial insemination with the semen of a long dead dog I really respected.
@@boerboelacademy Thank you for taking the time to respond and offer your experience. I wish you nothing but luck in her breeding success, and please update us on how she does.
It is important for pups to drink the mother's milk as soon as they get born because they get some of their immunity from that. If the mother does not have milk or not enough milk, then the formula helps a lot. I heard that one can buy synthetic colostrum now.... but it is not available where I live
Thank you . Highly recommend your book history of the boerboel
Your the best mr johan 💪🏽
i would like to visit you in mozambique to learn more from you. I am writing from Angola
Thanks for the information
Please do a video on the ideal diet for the various stages of a boerboel's life. Please also talk about whether a raw diet is advisable. Many thanks.

Andrew, the head of a Boerboel only 'settles' when they reach 2,5 to 3 years of age. Do not worry too much about it now.
Good day Mnr. Thank you for another amazing video. Do you sell any puppies to Europe? I am living in Spain. Looking forward to the next video.
