We went to the Schönbrunn and ate in the gloriette a couple of weeks ago, Very nice and quite but a bit of a hike up that hill!

Persönlich würde ich das Palmenhaus immer empfehlen. War bei jeden meiner 4 Wien Besuche da und beim ganz sicher stattfindenen nächen Wien Besuch auch wieder. Immer wieder schön die Blumen und Pflanzen zu entdecken. Etwas Zeit nehmen hinsetzen und genisen. Das Wüstenhaus ist leider etwas in die Tage gekommen.
Für Schönbrunn braucht man definitv mehr als einen Besuch. Aber du bist ja ohnehin Stammgast :)

Dezember mit Hamburg was Abwechslung.
Aber der nächste Wien Besuch ist schon geplant. Diesmal Geburtstag in Wien feiern. Muss nur schauen ob es bereits 2024 oder leider erst 2025 im Mai passt aber dann spätestens .

Thanks for the tips Grete! In the tickets website, I saw that the Sisi ticket has this benefit: "admission without timeslot". Does this mean I can just arrive anytime (between 8:30 and 18:00) at Schönbrunn Palace and they will let me in regardless of time slot? It would be very disapointing if they don't let me in because I haven't booked a time slot or if the place is too busy. I plan to go there in September, in the morning. Thank you.

If there’s a waiting period, you can explore other Schönbrunn attractions included with the Vienna Pass. If pre-booking is essential for you, you can purchase a regular ticket with a timeslot in advance on the palace website. Yes, you can! Just be aware that on some days there may be high demand, and you might have to wait quite a while for your entry time slot.

I enjoyed your video. Can I download your app of the palace ahead of time from our ship since I won't have cell phone coverage where there's no wifi? What are your must-see parts of the park in terms of great photos? It looks like we'll be walking at least 3.5 miles from the metro station to the palace, park and back to the metro station if we see many of the free highlights. I don't know if we or our feet will last that long in the July heat, especially since we want to visit the Kunsthistorisches Museum after visiting the Schonbrunn.

You can download the Schönbrunn App in advance, but be aware that some functions only work with internet access. If you want to take great pictures without walking too much, I recommend taking your picture from the grand staircase of the castle facing the park. Hope you will enjoy your visit :)
Cool, thanks for the info! If i book my tickets online and say I will arrive at 9:30 in the morning, am I allowed to skip the line to the ticket counter or do I still have to wait in the line to pick up my ticket? For example, that would mean I have to arrive at 8 in the morning? 😅
How to combine Vienna Pass with Schonbrunn ticket? If I have to buy Schonbrunn ticket online (for Grand Tour), how can I use my Vienna Pass for free entry? If I have State Apartments included in Vienna Pass, can I upgrade at the customer desk to the Grand Tour, just pay extra?
If you purchased your ticket online and have a time slot you can directly go to the entrance. If you have the Vienna Pass, you have to get your ticket at the ticket counter in the group center. At Schönbrunn, the Vienna Pass includes entry to the "State Apartments," which is a highlight tour. If you wish to see the "Grand Tour" with all the rooms of the palace, you'll need to purchase a regular ticket. You can do this either on-site at the ticket counter or through their website (I recommend the latter, as it allows you to select your time slot in advance).
@@gretetheaustrianguide Thank you for your help! A few hours ago, I managed to get in contact with the staff working there. They said that I can upgrade my Vienna Pass 'State Apartments' ticket at the Group Center to the 'Grand Tour' for €10. However, they can't reserve a time slot for me in that case. Since the Vienna Pass includes other Schonbrunn sights, I can go see those if the queue for the 'Grand Tour' will be too long. But I still plan to come early in the morning 😅
Hi, I’m from Colombia, and I would like to ask 1 thing. First, sorry for my English, it’s not my native language. 2nd, I will just do a fast stop in Vienna, 4am to 5 am of another day, and I want to visit the palace, but just the gardens, only outside. Is that free? I was reading in the palace app, and I have the possibility to pay only for the garden labyrinth (MAZE)? Or I need a ticket to access to the labyrinth? Thanks a lot for the information

The Vienna Pass includes free entry to the "State Apartments" at Schönbrunn. This is a highlight tour of select rooms. To see all the rooms in Schönbrunn, you'll need to purchase the "Grand Tour", which is not included in the Vienna Pass. You can buy it separately, either on-site at the ticket counter or online (I recommend booking online to secure your preferred time slot in advance).

Hi! I am not entirely sure, which pass you are referring to. With the Vienna City Card you get a discount on the entry fee. As for the Vienna Pass or Flex Pass, they include access to the state apartments (Grand Gallery, Small Gallery, East Asian Cabinets, ceremonial room). Schönbrunn park is free to visit. Please check the opening times of Schönbrunn Park on their website. They differ depending on the season www.schoenbrunn.at/en/visitor-information/opening-times
If I have a Vienna pass, can I still prebook (whitout paying) an online ticket for a certain time slot?
With the Vienna Pass, you must pick up your Schönbrunn ticket at the counter, where you'll receive the next available time slot. Hi, if you book a guided tour, the ticket price for the palace entrance is usually included.
