Top of the heap, indeed. Your rant had me rolling 😂
Tom has got insane range, be it technical drum programming, bass playing, synthesis, and genre blending/inventing.
    A real artist’s artist.

100% agreed. This dude makes the masters sound like amateurs. A true visionary, but with a sense of humor. And thanks for putting up with my dopey ranting, haha. I watched a few lazy Squarepusher reviews and got all fired up.

Venus No. 17 ep is my fave. Looking forward to this one the way you hyped it up :)

“Inspiring music for uninspired times” I like and totally agree with that.
I picked up this on pink vinyl recently - haven’t had chance to properly absorb the album yet. I became less interested in Toms music after Just a Souvenir (felt his music became less inspired) but got this purely because the artwork reminded me of the Big Loada EP - 96/97 being my fave period of his. So I’m excited to hear you say the album reflects that.
On a side note - what do you think of his brother Andy Jenkinson’s music? Cro Magnox, Camelot Arcade, Baddow Moods etc? Ceephax can be less serious but I’ve come to enjoy Andy’s music more than Toms in recent years.

@@colinrussell2017there’s a third brother - graffiti artist. Featured in some of Andy’s videos. Talented family.

Excellent commenrary. Love all of Tom's work, from his early Spymania work to his latest stuff. The new one is definitely harking back to his 'Big Loada' days. Agreed.

Nice review. Tom is a gem. Never one to conform to expectation and always pushes the envelope.

Absolutely. In a world all his own, then he creates a few new worlds just because.

Yes dude I first saw Squarepusher at Coachella back in 2001 I drank out of the same water bottle at that concert in the Mohave tent been listening since 1997 - I cringed on those reviews as well

I’ve been listening to TJ since Spymania days - I think Jazz is a big influence but Rock also - I think he stated in an interview that Zappa is always in the background

I've been listening to Squarepusher since Big Loada in 1997, and though I haven't listened to all of his many albums, I have listened to a pretty good amount. He's hit or miss, for me. Some of it is absolute genius and other projects just sound grating to me, but that's just my own personal taste--I know what he's doing is always innovative and interesting. Anyways, FWIW, Music Is Rotted One Note is my fave album of his. Very much looking forward to checking out this new one. thanks for the review!

@@occasionalfeelgood23 I found it too complicated. I can live with drumNbase only 20 minutes :)

Completely insane but ultimately brilliant. The production is unparalleled! Serious distopian synth pads, minor chord progressions on top of the furious drum programming. Worth a listen just for the production value

I will give this a go! I will be honest I have no knowledge of this artist! But always check out the passion as a fan of Richard Kirk will give it a go!
Oh love the Stranglers shirt doing their 50th Anniversary tour! Opening with two Meninblack album tracks! Seen two gigs so far!
Keep the passion and the vids coming
