Super important to know for muay thai! As a cocky beginner I didn't pay as much attention to this as I should and ended up in A&E after a knee to the chest skipped through my badly held pads and popped all the cartilage around my sternum - took 11 weeks to recover! (I am now a less cocky beginner!)

You should mention the fact you are holding the thai pads tight toward your body with your elbows in for the body kicks also slightly pinching your elbows together when you give a force back against the kick. Too many people dont do that and end up punching themselves in the face when they get kicked hard.

Heavy bag is for heavy hitting. Pads are for technique, drils, coordination...not for destroying. If you holding pads and ppl hit hard, you will not last long. You will end up with worn wrists, elbows and shoulders, maybe broken forearms. Trust me, I foud out the hard way.

Shane my knuckles are extremely hard, I’ve been practicing karate since I was 5 and started hitting the hard bag bare knuckle at 7, I have also been doing Krav Maga since I was 12 (I am 15) do you think I could land multiple headshots with little to no discomfort

i like holding them tight because if they're loose i feel like i can't hold them in place and then they just start flopping all over the place when the other person starts kicking LOL

At first, I thought it says "How to hold PadThai." Why would anyone need to learn how to hold a plate of food? Then "Oh... OK" :)
