You can still hear Basque spoken around Jordan Valley and they have a old Basque Jai Lai court there, a real center of Basque influenced Buckaroo culture there
@@tedbohlman2953 I am on the California Central Coast, but inland just West of Paso Robles at Lake Nacimiento. I try to take a break from C-19 cabin fever at least once a week to get down to the coast about a 35 minute drive away.
@@leonardoglesby1730 I was in Morro Bay as a child, remember it as a beautiful part of California. We are trying to avoid the virus also, can't wait to get the vaccineQ
Saw you on the Ray and Johnnie show And thought I would stop by. Because of family obligations I will never get to see your area. So it is nice to see it through your eyes Doc.
Very well done Ted. I like the format. The way you introduced the video for a couple of minutes upfront with a bit of a history lesson. And then the video itself. That was some pretty rough terrain that you were driving across. And I’ve heard of Silver City Idaho many many times. I had no idea it was that small. Good stuff....👍🏻
Not far from the Owyhee's. I love the terrain out there. So many cool canyons, waterfalls and rock formations. Not to mention the rattlers. Isolation is definitely there. Make sure someone knows where you're going because you won't see anyone out there. But, that's why I like it.
Thank you for the tour Ted! Well done!
There was a Basque settlement somewhere close there in Jordan Valley, OR. I'm a Basque very interested in that part of the country. Great video, Ted

JUST SAW YOUR COMMENT. DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING MORE ABOUT THE SETTLEMENT? LET ME KNOW MORE DETAILS IF YOU DO. WOULD LOVE TO EXLPLORE THAT. THANKS
The town of Jordan Valley is the Basque settlement you're speaking of...
Well documented, narrated, great views, thanks for sharing, regards Steve
THANKS SO MUCH STEVE!
Awesome!! Love your intro too!
Fascinating Idaho history Ted. I have learned something today about the Hawaiian trappers in Idaho, and Silver City.
Thanks Leonard! They are beautiful mountains right in our back yard. Where are you located? PS. I really enjoy your channel!
