Me finding John: No yeah dude talk about that bad Full Metal Alchemist Game bro Me now: JOHN WHY WILL YOU NOT PERSONALLY MAKE AND RELEASE MEGAMAN BATTLE NETWORK 7?
I’d still recommend playing 20XX. It’s far from perfect, and you’d probably benefit from leaving it a while after playing 30XX so recently, but it’s still a really fun time. The basic action is still super snappy and the controls tight, with the rush of getting a busted run spurring on a “one more go” mentality. Worth noting, however, that it seems Nina being easily breakable and Ace being much more of a challenge is now a trend. Much like 30XX, in the original you can get some upgrades that make Nina a monster, although not to quite the same degree as the new game.
I'd only reccommend it if you are like, seriously good at megaman games. I grew up playing megaman and even I found 20XX to be way too punishing to be enjoyable.
My only gripe with 20XX was some of the stages had "unclear paths". I often ended up dying just because it looked like I was supposed to go one way. But that way wasn't traversable.
@@IPLayedVR42Long I found that eventually you would just learn which way to go in each section because there just weren't that many different chunks to mix and match for each level theme. That doesn't really make it better, though. (Also, bottomless pit platforming. A little is cool, but it got way overplayed, especially in Sky Temple. I don't know how anyone can do the "insta-kill pits and spikes" modifier.)
A thing that hinders my desire to replay any side scrolling mega man game is how zoomed in it is, even in the ZX games. I'm not seeing that problem here so I think I'll get it. Hopefully the devs have success and can fund patches with more roguelite goodness like more modifiers, stage variety, maybe a new character (roll, axl, rush, bass and treble so many possible options)
Been playing this since it came out in 2021 and literally just now finished off the final boss in the 1.0 release. Man, it's been a journey, and a fun one. I'm glad they stuck with it and finished the game properly, it's been exciting waiting for the final stages and they lived up to the hype I'd set myself up for. Great game, truly.
I'd be remiss to not point this out. The Devs of 30XX actually went and recruited WreckingPrograms, the creator of Mega Man Maker to help with the Game, specifically the Maker portion of the game. other than that, Actually based review.
Gotta say, as much as I love 30XX, I definitely liked and remembered 20XX's ost more. The title screen song is still in my head all of these years later. Regardless, if you like Megaman, please play one of these games. They're both really fun.
true, i like 30xx ost (specially the endgame songs and the 20xx remixes) but 20xx ost is more catchy, permafrost, spark engine and SPECIALLY endless echo have no reason to go as hard as they do
Been playing 30XX since Early Access, one thing I can say for certain is that the Devs definitely listen to the player base, when I started out I was blazing though the game to to point where I got bored and left it for some months; after getting the Mega-itch again I came back for a quick run or three it was around the time they added toe gravity boss and the difficulty just spiked so hard I fell in love with the game all over again, I'm so happy to see this baby out of EA for the Mega Community to suffer and enjoy their way through it! Hope to catch you guys in online Co-op!
20XX is still a great time. I go back to it with a buddy every so often. That was until 30XX came out and now we are probably just gonna swap 20XX for this since there is very few things the first game does better
Game's great, the co-op honestly is the biggest pull for this game imo. My biggest struggle so far is trying to crank out a run at 30 entropy for that achievement brutal as can be.
I'm still struggling with 20+ entropy run. You have to be lucky to get good augs and cores at the beginning or be a human TAS so you don't get hit constantly.
I'm glad to hear from someone other than my own mind that it's HARD AS FECK!! I consistently hit Top 10 Dailys in 20XX (where I have time to play it) and I *still* get stuffed around Level 5 in this. I haven't touched the difficulty modifiers.
I put over 300 hours in 20XX and I have almost 179 typing this on 30XX they're both worth your time and the music is a banger, glad it's out of early access and getting some spot light as of late ^^
5:50 Almost but not quite. Ace gains energy whenever he lands a melee attack or kills an enemy which means that while the shield boomerang and Kunai kinda suck at building energy, it also means technuques like the kunai's sub weapon or a good number of his boss techniques also build energy. And with his exclusive attack speed up upgrade he can also get broken OP builds but just not in the same way as Nina.
You and I can dislike faux retro games together, I don’t know why it’s such a common art direction. When we were playing pixelated games decades ago we wanted the HD graphics we have now, retro can be fun but I’ll usually take modern visuals most of the time.
I'd dare to challenge him to play 20XX, just to see how well it plays out, even with it's style. It might look like Flash art. But it's still a game that plays great and feels like a successful megaman style game!
Two things. 1st, I can’t find this game on switch and I thought it released today. 2nd, so I ended up buying it on steam, and MAN THIS GAME IS HARD AS HECK!!! It makes Gravity Circuit look like a walk in the park. Does anybody have any tips or something? Anything helps!?!😢
The game difficulty is probably what they wanted. In 20XX, I only got a complete run around the 13 to 15th run. And I still played some more runs after. In the end, I had a good 34 hours of game play.
The best advice i can give is to keep at it, and to always go for gauntlets and challenges. The more rolls you have on items, the more chances for something busted to appear. Also renember that the upgrades to a ton to help, by the time your upgrade page is mostly filled you will likely be a lot more skilled too, so just keep trying and practice will get you there.
Not complaining, just curious if maybe it's a culture thing? What's with the d? It's xx isn't it? I still can't find xdx anywhere in the game......edit: nvm I think I get what your going for. It's a pronunciation thing for numbers. Reminds me of an IQ test I was given as a very young child where one of the thing was "count as high as you can" so I did. Meanwhile noticed a pattern, and while I knew 100 was a number. It was a vague concept to me. BUT I noticed something thirty, fourth, fifty....and so on. So when I got to ninety nine I went to tenty, tenty one. So is this it? Your going with "in the year thirty xty x"?
I’d totally be down to do a run or two. I’ve had this since December, been having fun with it. Now I forget, is there a discord for you and if there is, is it patreon exclusive
Part of me feels guilty we gaslit John into a Megaman Chanel. But I also don't know many Megaman Chanels that compare to how likeable he is.
It's quite the guilty pleasure, but yeah I wish we got more .hack stuff.
Too true
MegaMan Zero 3: Curse Of Vile
Me finding John: No yeah dude talk about that bad Full Metal Alchemist Game bro
Me now: JOHN WHY WILL YOU NOT PERSONALLY MAKE AND RELEASE MEGAMAN BATTLE NETWORK 7?
YEAH DO US AVFAVOR AND RELEASE MEGA MAN NETWORK 7
FORNGAME BOY ADVANCE AND
NINTENDO SWITCH AM I RIGHT
Our man is getting review codes!
He has ascended
A 15 minute video?? Madness, insane, incomprehensible
But hey, bit-sized John content kinda fun. Love this.
Same
Delta looks like he's just asking to be a playable character that gets unlocked after you do some stupid hard challenge
About that
he shouldve been the reward for the true ending smh

awesome to see ya cover this one, day 1 purchase for me. I actually really enjoyed the first one despite the tough visual presentation
Same, it was the first Roguelite I ever finished through gritted teeth so it was a memorable journey.

The way you pronounce 30XX as 30X "D" X makes my ocd scream
It sounds really odd, but the devs themselves confirmed that as the pronunciation.
Where is the “D” coming from. I’m really trying to understand the title but not getting it.
@@dandman8852it’s like “nineteenth nineTY eight”
“Thirty xTY x”
It’s dumb lol
I will be frank no amount of the devs saying it should be pronounced 30x"d"x will get that to catch on compared to just saying 30xx.
A 3rd character based off Axl would be cool
Dash jumps. Dash *wall* jumps. God YES.
This video cured my schizophrenia
No it didn't, im still here.

If John co-signs i want it
John makes a video. My depression gets megabustered.

Help, this game is holding me hostage, and I have developed stockholm syndrome.
My friend and I just beat this today for the 1st time today... those later levels are definitely cracked.
Great video! Thank you for making it and sharing it with us.
Gotta admit. The tab labeled 'nitpicking' is hilarious
Oh look, more megaman

Lol I love the options to adjust things is called Nitpickig .
20xx was mad fun, crazy theres a sequel so many years later
If your liking this, you should definitely tryout Gravity Circuit as well!!
babe wake up new knijohn

Right away I will say I like they added Damage Numbers.
never heard of this but it looks right for me. Gonna check it out.
Oh hey it’s KNIJohn my favorite megaman channel ! :D
I love this game
After a LOOONG first day of school this a nice break from it
20xx and 30xx are both great games,... played them both 200+ hours. But I would say 20xx is more fun to play.
20xx is hard on the eyes
neat I was just thinking about this
pretty cool.
That is what you get for insulting the Shield Boomerang so much. Its 30XX counterpart, Edgewall, carried me to my first clear as Ace.
As usual the fans make a better game than the official devs.
What timing- This game just released today, and is looking pretty fun honestly.. Obviously Buster > Sword any day, any game.
Nice intro, Jonathan
Sold me on it on the first 4 min. Time to go play 20XX to prepare, seeing as how i got ot for free years ago lol
Thirty-Exty-Ex
I wanna play.
I have this game but I’ve been playing 20XX more
15 minutes video from KNIJohn ? 😮 (I am not complaning ! Moar pls !)
Games looks 💣💣💣
U gonna do gunvolt after you zero -and zx-?
I did not enjoy what I did play of 20XX. This however looks much more polished.
1. Switch version got delayed.

3:45 - 3:58 to make the game harder ( at 3:50 )
3:59 - 4:10 to make the game easier under Settings

Where are you seeing the letter d?
It's "X-ty" like "Six-ty".
@@knijohn3581 Oh I see. I heard the developer pronounce it by just saying “x” twice.
Think you could do Inazuma Eleven
Wowie
This video was how I learned that I’ve been saying 20XX and 30XX wrong my whole life and now I’m upset
you’ve been saying it correct, the pronunciation in this video is wrong
I never beat 20xx. After a few dozen tries I died on the final boss and gave up when trying stopped being fun.
why is he calling it 30 XDX?
It's "30 X-ty X" like saying "Seven-ty Six"
The "X" replaces the number when you pronounce the year.
Shut up and take my life saving! (I got like $30 😂😥)
Are the bosses cool? Cause the old one sucked on that
I’d totally be down to do a run or two. I’ve had this since December, been having fun with it.
Now I forget, is there a discord for you and if there is, is it patreon exclusive
Correction: X is not the original Mega Man, he is the younger brother of the original
Capcom, Nintendo, Sega, Sony have became as Lazy as aactivision, EA, UBISoft, Epic Games, Valve, Eidos...
