Hi, i Don't understand how to put back the plastic pieces to the metal rim/lip of the seat to fix the seat cover. ( min 6:10) I had my car for technical inspection and the guy somehow pulled on the seat to adjust it i think and now i find that the seat lower part comes up if i pull on it and it's quite annoying. I don't know how to fix them on that metal lip. thx :)
Thanks, this was kind of a pain and very time consuming. I just finished doing the rear seats last week. They look amazing. I still have the edit the video on that one!
@@alexh8754 I replaced all the leather top and bottom in the back seat. I shot it on video but never got around to editing it yet. The bottom seat was really easy. It has about 100 hog rings in it! Did you go with OEM leather seat cover?
@@JDMRightHandDrive I'm going with regular cloth pulled off some wrecked mazdas. I really like the cloth I have now. 100 hogrings don't sound too bad, I'm looking forward to the vehicle finally being pretty pristine
My mazda 6 sport 2.2D has leather red seats however as you could expect with a lot of wear and tear so I was looking to replace mine like this would you say it will effect the heated seats if you put this cover on?
I would not think so, removal and install would be the same process. You would just have a exposed heat mat on the seat once you removed the old seat covers.
Looks awesome, i was hesitant to try roadwire because i was unaware of the brand but juat installed them on my trail boss and cant say enough good stuff about them. They look better than the katzkin i did in my f150 albeit these were diamond stich so natually more custom look. I would recommend them 1000%
Just the drivers seat took me about 3 hours to remove and reinstall the cover. It was my first time and I could do it a lot faster now that I know what I am doing.
Nice video, I’ve had roadwire seats installed (albeit by a professional) on my Subaru and really enjoyed the fit and finish. Now looking at installing a set on my next car (Mazda CX5), hoping it goes as smooth as your install.
Try hot glue on the trim areas. Should stop from the folding look. Hot glue it an stretch the seat cover across till it's flat looking but not too much cause when they sit I will wear the seat maybe tear.
I thought the black “sports trim” cloth seats were bad…. You’re right! The tan sports cloth looks way worse! It for sure looks dingy All the time! Terrible choice for a car when it’s going to get dirty no matter what!
I think that is why I was able to buy this car in 2019 for $10,800 from the dealer, when it was only 3 years old. Leather seat covers made such a difference. Its my sons car now that he is off to college and the seat covers are holding up great over the years.
And 3 years later the company is no more 😂 bought out by Katzkin . At those prices you can buy a whole new seat in leather . Starting at $1895 USD 😂😂😂😂😂 LIKE WHAT is the leather ? Human ?
Yeah, I was sad to see that Roadwire is not around anymore. I got lucky and bought some 2022 WRX leather seat covers for my car for $600 on ebay. I cant wait to get these installed next week.
I had no idea how car seats were constructed, this was fascinating to watch thanks for sharing.
We both learned, this was my 1st experience with seat covers as well. 👍
Oh this is way more intense than I thought, seats will never be the same after
Yeah no going back to stock if you wanted too.

@@JDMRightHandDrive i might be doing my rear seat bottoms soon. 2 cigarette burns and 300$ to buy replacement

Great job, thanks for the video.
Do you know what size hog rings you used? Apparently there’s different sizes.

Awesome. Happy to hear this video gave you the confidence to pull the trigger for Roadwire. Glad to hear you are happy with them.
I like cloth better. I have black cloth in my 6. I have only had it steamed cleaned once.
Nice job!
Do you have a link ? For the seat covers
I bought them on ebay as a close out deal. You would have to purchase them directly from the manufacture now at www.roadwire.com/
Airbags Will open whit these covers on?
How long altogether did this project take you? I have done seat covers for another vehicle, but it was a 2-seatet and this looks like an all-day job

It is a simple process, just takes a lot of time. Good luck, I know you can do it!

I will have to try that, I still have to finish the back seats.
Mad respect.
