Multumesc pentru apreciere, este bunica mea care a avut 8 fete si un baiat si a muncit foarte mult sa-i creasca mari, iar pe nepoti (14) ii astepta sa-si petreaca vacanta la ea.O iubim pe mama-mare.

I did this with my grandparents and uncles in Mexico 🇲🇽 back in the 90’s when we would go visit for summer. Hard work and very slow compared to machines.

There are hand cranked corn/maize shellers that are cast iron. 100+ years old that still work great, and newer ones that are fairly cheap.
You'd think the communist government could have at least manufactured those for its farmers.
I would love to get one for this kind woman to help save her that effort.

The communists were too busy starving the Kozacs to death.
This lady has probably seen some real horrors.

My grandparents from Northern Moldova, Romania, used to have this kind of corn and every years saved the seeds. I thought this organic old corn is gone, replaced nowadays with all sorts of genetically modified kinds of corn from what I've seen. 21 century genetically modified corn is awful, its taste is so BAD compared to this organic old authentic one.
But this video is still painful - a living testimony of some of the horrible things Russian invaders did in Romania. And she was mentioning just the last invasion. In the last two centuries there have been 12 invasions of the Russians in Romania. There are so many scars left in Romanian collective memory by those barbaric Eastern invasions...

Yes, you can hardly find any organic corn seeds anymore.. Slowly, they had been replace with gmo ones. The organic ones are în the bank of seeds, not with us. 😉

@@Peasantartcraft Gmo seeds are not allowed in the EU. What you mean is modern hybrid corn (which can also be grown organically) vs. old varieties.
