All the comments about the West forcing controls on poor Pam oil producers are missing the point. It is western consumers who drive the demand for deforestation and palm oil production. Well Malaysia wants to be known as the only palm grower in the world so they will stop at nothing even to the point of destroying their wildlife environment. I guess they also want to be part of the group that goes to Africa steals something and claim as their own, I. e. "European chocolate." It is wonderful that we Africans are not so greedy like most non African nations we value our environment and respect every being. It is only foreigners who come in steal resources and cause destruction. It doesn't help that most of African countries have uneducated narrow minded leaders. I am not against people moving to Africa and exploring but Africans need to start listening and opening eyes. Let us all work together for the better Africa and better world for all.
Unfortunately, oil palm plantations are still controlled by large companies, and the world's attention to independent oil palm farmers is still lacking
In Guyana, the state-owned sugar industry is unable to produce sugar at competitive int'l prices resulting in the closure of several sugar factories and lay-offs of thousands of workers. With millions of hectares of arable land left abandoned - oil palm plantations maybe a sustainable agri-industry that is welcome. We would love to get small farmers and large corporations from Indonesia and Malaysia to invest here in Guyana. Any takers? There will be no issue here in Guyana with deforestation and destruction of animal habitat.

if they were so poor, how did they obtain all the needs to cut a whole forest?? also ive seen a documentary that a freaking national park was cut down.....
@LanaV6 They don`t. That is why we must help organisations like WWF to make sure the effect is minimised, and in best case stopped dead. Every hectare of protected wilderness is a step towards brighter future for us all. It all comes to small changes gradually. Everything counts, even the smallest of things.
I rather disagree to my fellow Indonesians and Malaysians due to the fact these palm plantations are located in the TROPICAL FORESTS, the highest biodiversity ecosystem on earth! The government should limit the CPO expansion and try to maintain the sustainable palm industries. Otherwise, the harm will cause huge disaster not only to the forests but also the people who rely on them.
All people in foreign countries should boycott palm oil products and only buy organic palm oil to support the organic farmers who actually care for mother nature and put a lot of effort in their extra work.
Now its 2019..why not make coconut oil used to substitute palm oil?so we dont need to replace forest to palm trees? Coconut trees can produce even with in the forest and very easy to grow we dont need to burn down forest to grow them. Now the demand of coconut oil is decreasing here in my country were copra is produce to make coconut oil is sell very cheap those big companys paying the farmers cheap becoz the demand of cco oil is less..all i just want is to have a balance in consumption i hope so

How about deforestation and other environment problems caused by raps oil and olive oil? I don't see you guys boycott these kind of oil... Perhaps to protect the interest of the farmers in Europe and USA?
The deforestation for palm oil goes very fast and it's done illegally as no one cares in Indonesia if there will be any normal tree or any forest left. Probably in Europe or USA there is not that much deforestation.
@cobainzlady But then Europe and the US should rebuild the forest so that they have more forest reserves, which is not happening. Rather they use the excuse that since it had already happened long time ago and there's nothing there could do about this. I call bullshit on that
Maybe is healthier? It's easier to be harvested per hectare. The problem is not the palm oil itself, the problem is that those people destroy the forests just to plant more and more palm trees.
Palm oil is the most ecological type of oil. Blame deforestation on people needing to eat, not palm oil. If you have 100 million more people living this year than last year, you need the food to come from somewhere it didn't come from before.
*But you are missing the point of this video. The problem is that those palm oil producers (from Indonesia and a few more countries) are destroying the trees / the forest to plant more palm trees to produce more palm oil so they make more money by selling the palm oil to Europe/US/etc. Basically by removing the forests for palm trees, they are destroying the planet just for money.* What the video shows is that the palm oil should be grown and harvested only on the hectares they already have, not destroying forests and forests, trees and trees to plant more palm trees.
@healerdream mhm Palm oil was never needed in the past and its not needed now, they can leave those tree's alone. I certainly don't need that oil. I am Vegan, most of what I eat doesn't have palm oil in it, and if it does? its incredibly rare.
Please do not make the video associated with the killing of orangutans, oil palm is our job, oil palm is also green plants, orangutans also eat palm fruit. don't slander, don't make slander, we also protect orangutans in their habitat
Indonesia's forest are burning right now. The fires caused deadly haze which made Indonesia's skies red. The haze has also reached different cities in neighboring countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam and more. Schools are being shut down. Orangutans are dying in Indonesia. We have to stop using palm oil or we have to make palm oil production sustainable. We have to call on governments and companies. Each of us should change. We can still change ourselves. We have to act now. It's for our future.
yall should learn and compare the oil production, yield, and total land used for the cultivation between palm oil and the other oil producing plants, palm oil is much more healthier for the environment than another oil producing plant, if you really want to save the environment please do thorough search, stop cherry picking news and blame another country
Unless its sustainable palm oil that a company is making/using, its not allowed. It does not matter whether they need unsustainable palm oil to stay out of poverty, thats no excuse, there is no excuse for killing innocent creatures and burning and chopping their homes down, thats murder. End of.
There is no such thing as "demand" when it comes to palm oil, at least not from consumers. They just buy what they see in the supermarkets. If it's the cheapest thing, they'll buy that. When organic, natural and healthy is priced 10$ and things containing palm oil are priced 1$ and are everywhere, your choice will be made soon enough. It's fucking cheap and it's everywhere, that's the problem. However, in the long run it's the most expensive thing to keep doing for the sake of all.
yess I am Indonesian and I am disappointed with my country which allows the cultivation of very large oil palm. thus making many animals and plants have no place to live. I am very concerned about what is happening in my country that makes a big negative impact for the whole world. But indonesia also give positive impact that all product we can use every day contain palm oil and most of lokal employee can get money to feed their children and wive.but yah I hope we can choose a better things than this (palm oil)
+BlockGaming It depends on type of palm oil and how it is produced! My group africa palm and Crop (Available on twitter and facebook) for exemple supports WWF and plans to grow sustainable palm oil that is Ecological Palm Oil (EPO). We fight environment disasters and will contribute to stop them.
It is vital to Our environment to support WWF in its actions for sustainable palm oil and environment protection in order to save future generations. They need to inherit an environment that must feed them too!!! Il faut soutenir WWF dans son combat environmental et d'adoption de palmier à huile durable pour sauver l'environnement car les générations futures doivent hériter d'un environnement qui doit les nourrir aussi!!!
That's still not right to keep producing palm oil because if u want ur great grand children to know what orangatangs and tigers to be then they need to stop producing, selling and buying palm oil or there will be no such thing as animals in Indonesia
west and Europe do not want to see growth of Indonesia. Tea cultivation also create problem in India, and cause of deforestation, why they are collecting revenue then. the main problem is , money which is hard earned by Indonesian farmer and they do not have to pay them. keep growing Indonesia.
You care only about the "growth" of Indonesia. Have you though about the planet? Do you have kids? If so, do you think that they will live healthy on a dead planet?
@@Mihai-zk9ts Reflect on yourself,In fact, 30% of Indonesia's territory is forested compared to the European continent which is only 18%.And also actually this is an unfair comparison because it is 1 country compared to 1 continent.

The roundtable is controlled by Europeans in order to control the asian and african oil industry anyway. Fact: You really believe the lie that the rainforest is dying at 1 football field per second by palm oil(according to the WWF). Yet other activists say 13 football fields per minute, and others come up with other numbers and statistics. These statistics are all FAKE! So which dumbass is counting "1 football field 1 second, 2 football field 2 second,.." and the "sole cause is palm oil"? These stats are all MADE UP! What about timber trade, farming, paper, construction, development? Let's ban construction and timber furniture too shall we? Recently the african palm oil industry sued French retailer for using these made up stats to smear palm oil's name, guess what, the Africans won, because the court ruled that these biological statistics by the activists are UNRELIABLE !
this is propaganda ,, whose forest is responsible? if Europeans really love forests, they help take care of them, not impose operations on the state of the forest owner,
Excusme, stop to DISCRIMINATION our products, our oil. Let's se what we will do to our future, because if we're compared palm oil and sunflower oil it's NOTHING, our Oil much better and much cheaper. Let's see. We will show to the World.

I just focus on getting my palm oil from West Africa, much more palatable and sustainable in my opinion.
Your family has 50 hectares of land and not for one minute was there a thought to grow your own food to feed your family?
They make more money on that hectares from *palm oil* exported to the whole world than just growing their food on a small part of those hectares.
I bet they made this video just so they can show off their new marimba plugin
@schizzomirrormage Wirklich? Wieso?
the stupid thing of this is that we are inducted to use this products that we don't even have knowledge of where they come... this is just what we see... to make the computer I'm using, tons of coltan and lots of people die to bring it up to our use...this doesn't surprise me because we are promoting it... on the other hand I'm glad that people get concerned and make foundations to help and educate people to stop nature destruction
watchout, MR.JEALOUS from europe and america is commenting
if they were so poor, how did they obtain all the needs to cut a whole forest?? also ive seen a documentary that a freaking national park was cut down.....
It might be corporation. You should double check it yourself. Sorry for the broken english.
*cmiiw
@LanaV6 They don`t. That is why we must help organisations like WWF to make sure the effect is minimised, and in best case stopped dead. Every hectare of protected wilderness is a step towards brighter future for us all. It all comes to small changes gradually. Everything counts, even the smallest of things.
Bro, if Indonesia has a problem with then they will do something about it. once it becomes a richer country then it would hold things back a bit.
In italia they say that palm oil it's poison, and people avoid palm oil products... 😬
Tells that to british
Palm oil is sustainable as other vegetable oils..
Now the demand of coconut oil is decreasing here in my country were copra is produce to make coconut oil is sell very cheap those big companys paying the farmers cheap becoz the demand of cco oil is less..all i just want is to have a balance in consumption i hope so
Because it does not drain much land and is very sustainable, this year Indonesia will use it as a substitute for petroleum, now Indonesia has been able to process Biofuel 30% CPO with a 70% mixture of petroleum so in 2021 it is targeted to make CPO B100% for vehicle fuel that will replace crude oil.
One day petroleum will run out so it can be replaced with renewable B100% CPO energy.
I call bullshit on that
I love you wwf. All humans need to consume less and have also less children. It’s the only fair thing to do. And right thing.
This is all so true! Some people think just giving up palm oil is the key, but its not!
Why do we need palm oil to begin with? This video is endorsed by W.W.F. In a way, I'm torn apart. I will look to ban palm oil period.
@LanaV6 It's not when will they stop, it's when will we stop. The choices we make as consumers will decide that.
Masuk dan sport selalu mas 🤝 salam sahabat channel selalu mas 🤝 salam sukses
Please do not make the video associated with the killing of orangutans, oil palm is our job, oil palm is also green plants, orangutans also eat palm fruit. don't slander, don't make slander, we also protect orangutans in their habitat
Up to you, As a farmer we are happy with , palm oil our job
I don't understand English, I use the Google Translet facility fasilitas
you know , tahu tempe :D
the owner is Malaysian.. :( poor indonesia...
why
RiRin so whats the best alternative beside palm oil? Soybean oil, corn oil?
yess I am Indonesian and I am disappointed with my country which allows the cultivation of very large oil palm. thus making many animals and plants have no place to live. I am very concerned about what is happening in my country that makes a big negative impact for the whole world. But indonesia also give positive impact that all product we can use every day contain palm oil and most of lokal employee can get money to feed their children and wive.but yah I hope we can choose a better things than this (palm oil)
forest for oil palm
ปาล์มหมดลายแล้ว
I always avoid palm oik
+BlockGaming It depends on type of palm oil and how it is produced! My group africa palm and Crop (Available on twitter and facebook) for exemple supports WWF and plans to grow sustainable palm oil that is Ecological Palm Oil (EPO). We fight environment disasters and will contribute to stop them.
can you?
Colox same, but it’s incredibly difficult.
Not sure if serious...
Serious with what?
ne demek nedir kimdir com ...

น่าจะเงียบไปแล้ว
เขาให้ปลูกใหม่
Wowww
west and Europe do not want to see growth of Indonesia.
Thanks from Indonesia
@@Mihai-zk9ts Reflect on yourself,In fact, 30% of Indonesia's territory is forested compared to the European continent which is only 18%.And also actually this is an unfair comparison because it is 1 country compared to 1 continent.
we as humans can be so selfish..ours lives over animals like tigers and monkeys. they feel pain too. that being said, how did the west cultivate food products and avoid these issues?
ยังไม่ได้ทำอะไร
Palm oil is fine.but dont provide crude oil based product for cooking.😜
Palm oil is fit for fuel
DEFORESTATION ISN'T THE ANSWER. IF THE GOVERNMENT GETS ITS ACT TOGETHER, THEY CAN JUST GIVE PEOPLE JOBS
the asia is growing, the western ppl r afraid, hehehe
+zuneid osman yea bcuz we stoopid

Why not just use animal fat !
Probably the palm oil is easier to be created (planted+harvested+processed) than growing grains to feed livestock to grow those animals and then to cut out the fat for products.
