I absolutely adore your videos! Some of the best storytelling on UA-cam period!! Love how you added bits of the freedom cry soundtrack into the Adéwalé scenes! Really broke my heart though in rogue when you had to kill him
Amazing narration as always. One small correction I want to add. Lawrence Washington and James Wardrop were not officially Grand Masters. At that point of time the Colonial Rite of the Templar Order did not yet exist. It was rather weak and was only a prelude to what's to come. As such, it was considered as a merely extension of the British Rite and was completely under control of the British Grand Master Reginald Birch. It was only when Haytham was officially sent to the Colonies by Birch, the Order in the Colonies has become an officially separate Colonial Rite with Haytham Kenway appointed as its first Grand Master. But pay no mind to me geeking out, lmao, it is a fantastic video! Always nice to listen to your narrations and in depth retelling of the story.

Shay is such a interesting character and it could be argued that he had doubts about the assassin order even before the earthquake since the other assassins dont respect shay and his abilities or opinions and dont tell him important information even tho he's a member of their order
The video was very well made. And you are very smooth and easy to listen to. You made this story so compelling, even if it was a super lame story in reality. It's really just "how do we make a Templar story? Just flip the roles and make the Assassins the usual assholes that we normally make the Templars"
I constantly keep hearing this bullshit take. "assassin creed rogue is lame because it just flipped the story" In reality assassin's creed rogue is one of the games that actually brought the supposed grey area to the war between the assassins and templars. In previous games it was non-existent. Only Ac revelation, Ac 3 and a little bit of ac 1 has this three dimensionality. The rest are just one dimesionsal portrayal of two factions that are made up of cold blooded killers.
@@Rengokuo4o6it's not just that, the actions of the assassins in this game make no sense, they completely disregard their Creed, I theorize that in truth the Templars may have frame the Assassins while also to the Assassins framing Shay Cormac, it makes some sense to it.
I can’t be doing with Shays story. He’s too noble to be a Templar. Shay’s story is just Absertgo messing with the memories of the Subject they took the DNA from. They even tried to manipulate Connor’s memories for Abstergo Entertainment to make him an evil and bitter man. I wouldn’t be surprised that it turned out Shay Cormac was a right bastard!
@31782. We don't know how long they had Shay's descendants DNA for. End of the day Shay just doesn't do it for me. There's just to much nobility from a Templar. It's like when Haytham shot Achilles, Haytham is a stone cold killer, there's no way he would show that amount of mercy.
I agree, to me since the very beginning Shay just felt misunderstood and mislead as a character. What Achilles did was definitely wrong but turning to the Templars as ur first option instead of just being a rogue assassin feels like such a stretch
