- Good News, DSP3005 and DPS5005 communication version is published. New software and hardware.
But before you buy this, you should down load upper computer software to check that your computer fit it or not.

Note: there are two choices:
1. USB board : DPS+ USB communication board
2, USB + Bluetooth: DPS+ USB communication board+ Bluetooth communication Board
Note: there is no open for communication interface on housing , it need you add a open on the housing , if you can't do this , please don't buy this housing for communication version

I received two DPS5005 about a week ago, with USB support...and already done some testing:
Both working great, *no issues*...tested on various conditions, except feeding reversed voltage from another supply into the ouputs, because it´s not an four quradrant power supply and this will probably kill it, but i tested a 100.000µF/63Volt cap charged it up to 48Volts (my input voltage) with 5Amps, shut the DPS down after fully charged, power it up again without discharging the cap, but leaving it at the output terminals.
Did the same test with a 1Henry 10Amp EI130Core inductor, no issues even with its heavy back EMC/EMF caused voltage spike during shut down...
The USB interface is great, but the software still needs some ReWork in my opinion.
- It should remember the interface settings. Important fix this first :)
- I still want more sequence points and also a loop feature, to let it run a couple of times until infinity
- export the graph plots into a textfile for future usage.
- add a graph history, add horizontal sliders.
I ordered these 5005 because Dave (EEVBLog) and Andreas Spiess (the Guy with the Swiss accent) done a quick review a while ago, and i was about designing an old fashioned dual linear power supply with a bunch of 2N3055 and thought the 5005 would be a nice try...
I still could add a linear supply for delicate audio setups to power, anyway and benefit from a pre-regulated voltage input.

With the DPS5005 PC Software V1.3.exe I get the error message 'The product model does not match' after I hit 'Connect', although the measured values and the Firmware (1.4) are shown correctly.

no no, DPS5005 is just 27.5 usd on our shop, i don't know where you saw it is 40 usd
even communication USB + bluetooth is just less than 35 usd
you can't use other borad to communicate, because we have our own coomunication program to support

the remote control is a very nice addition , if the remote control supported wifi which is already deployed and cover larger areas. not for a specific reason , just a practical point of view .
i have seen cheap chips to add wifi esp8266 is one i have used as a user not a developer .

I am excited to try out the new DPS5005-C devices I got today. But so far, I only see "Connection Exception" error after I type in COM4 (USB) or COM5 (Bluetooth) and hit Connect. How can I debug this? I see "USB Serial CH340 (COM4)" in the Devices control panel.

I bought a new DPS3005 Commnunication version. While the old DPS3005 works still perfectly, the new one produces the error message 'Connection exception' after I hit 'Connect',

we used to sell two kind of cases, metal case and Aluminum case, metal case can be used for every model, Aluminum case only for none communication version, now we only sell metal case so you don't need to add a interface for communication board now
@@rdtech9153 OK. I got it. I did not buy the house/case. I have a DPS5005-USB unit (at least I think it is) but there is no USB connection slot (the male connector on the board) as shown in the video. I had to solder the pins on the board myself. It works though. I am just wondering why it does not come with the connector as shown in the video. Well, may be it is not exactly that model. Anyways... thanks for clarification.

Can't install the USB341SER Driver on 2 win10 and 1 win 7 PC's. The install completes successfully, but there is no CH341SER Driver listed in the Device Manager. Or anything resembling it.
What to do? This is was going to be part of a development system for a DPS5005 device application.
Found the problem.
When installing the CH341SER Driver, the Driver will not appear in the Device Manager unless and until the USB device is connected with a DATA CAPABLE USB CABLE. Which is typically not the USB cables one has. The typical cable being just a charging cable. Out of the 6 CABLES I had, 1 was a data cable.
Potential problems can be avoided by the vendor including a short data USB cable. Or like some other vendors do, which is to mount a regular size USB connector on the device, thereby eliminating the need for a cable at all.
So if you install the CH341SER driver and nothing appears in the Device Manager, plug in the USB device and it will popup under COM PORTS. If the Driver does not appear it is more than likely that the USB cable being used to connect the USB device is a USB charging cable and not a USB data cable.

Can someone tell me how to run this in constant current mode? Mine always runs in constant voltage mode which is quiete annoying since the power supply is sometimes not abled to detect a high ampere load. For example I have a 100W hand vacuum cleaner for my bench and without the CC mode I only get the 100W out of it when I double the input voltage from 12 to 24 volts. It is originally designed for cars. Normally it uses 8,3 amps but in cv mode it just uses about 2,4 amps to about 4,2 amps. Besides that it is a really awesome bench power supply!

CC and CV were switch automatically, not by hand, it depends your load... 'there is no better way
I wondered the same thing. I wanted to use CC and CV to charge lithium-ion batteries. I found that the unit would change over at some point on its own. I think the problem you have is that you want to use the unit with a 12 volt input to run a 12 volt vaccum. Remember, this is a bucking supply. The input has to be something like 1.2 times the desired voltage. You are NOT going to get 12 volts out with 12 volts in...more like 11 and something. So of course it will run normally when the input is 24 volts.

so you can not update it by yourselves . sorry, if you need communication version, you only need to buy a new one

why not, you are already about 80% done, all you need is to add a stop point in your voltage sequence. If a certain voltage/current or even wattage is reached shut the output off, that´s all it would need to be able to charge a certain type of batteries/accumulators....the usual chargers doesn´t do it much different, some using pulsed volatge, but yours can do it as well, if you set the sequence the right way....but we would need a loop-mode, first...please i already need it for testing my designs on various supply conditions

With the DPS3005 PC Software V1.3 it works. But the Software would be much better, if the Output Voltage and Current curves would consider the Voltage and Current settings as maximum of the Y-axis.

У меня ЛБП на DPS5020 спрятан вообще в ящике стола чтобы место не занимал вывел длинные провода и управляю им с компьютера Win 10 все отлично работает. также на страничке товара есть ссылка на программу для android установил с apk файла работает тоже хорошо. На компьютере по Bluetooth работает одновременно Bluetooth колонка и DPS5020.

It would have been nice if you had added basic power analyzer/profiler funtionality in your software. e.g. Ah, mAh, Wh etc over time so that we can analyze verious power profile of the load.

hello, what is the firmware version you see on the screen when power on it, if it is too old, it has no communication program inside, and if you order it recently, it has communication program inside, but you need to solder a communication socket to insert the cable

I have soldered the G/Tx/Rx wires to the jst connector's markings on the pcb (there was no connector provided as it was the "no-comm" version, I guess). I just received my 5020 with communication. I have not put it together although I have tested the basic setup and purchased a quieter 40 mm fan to put in the gray housing. What I am concerned about and what I have not had answers for is where to put the bluetooth. It does not work well through metal. Did put yours in the case? If anyone has figured this out it would be helpful. Why bother with a wired connection if we can go wireless.

I believe you would get much more sales of your product and more subscribers and likes to UA-cam channel if you hired one of the university students close by to you who major in English to narrate your product for you. I find in my travels to China on the product expos and Parts sourcing hiring university students with perfect English skills is the best way to translate and get commerce for sales of your product to other countries. For English translation I usually find the girls study harder and comprehend English translation at a higher level than their male counterparts. I look forward to getting some of your products and testing.

EEVblog did a follow-up on their video with a characterization of the unit. Overall looks very good. However the noise on the output is of concern for use with sensitive electronics - 110mV at full load.

What filter implementation would you recommend to add to the unit?
Or any advice on how to modify the unit with noise filtering?
Currently what I gather is that without internal modification, we could add an LC filter to get rid of the high-frequency noise. Somebody showed good results with 10µH coil, 220µF for the first cap and 22µF for the second. Then there is a 10kHz ripple left, which presumably could be treated with a notch filter? Any specific ideas for implementation? Comments on how external filtering may affect the performance of the unit?
Many people out there would be happy to hear from the developer about this.

Rd Tech how high? Some people are paying $600 for good bench power supplies. Your product is great, the only problems are QC and the ripple. (by the way in my unit the screen connector was not soldered properly, had to repair it)
The ripple is no problem, add a second order LC low pass close to the ouput, that´s it, or design a track´ed linear regulator and the output ripple is history with a trackable linear regulator you could also use sense wires to keep the ouput voltage steady

,Output Current accuracy: ± (0.5% + 5 digits), you don't know this? and the pc software has no matter with the output, it is just a method to control and view data, the output is decided by the input and you can adjust in the range, your words make no sense except for macOS software

hello, you can only use one board at a time, there is a description at the device page: There are 3 version ,No communication version, communication + USB version, communication + USB+ BT (bluetooth). conncet to PC software with usb cable or Bluetooth to control the device or connect to Android phone with Bluetooth,you can only select the Bluetooth connection or USB connection, because the Bluetooth board and USB communication board can only be used alone
