In Portugal, we have something called the "Compasso". The "Compasso" involves a small religious procession of around 5 - 6 people, usually led by a priest who carries a cross, visiting homes in the community to bless them. This tradition symbolizes Jesus' ressurection, and is a way for the church to bring Easter blessings directly to the people's homes. Typically, households prepare for the Compasso by cleaning and decorating their homes (usually by leaving flower petals on their doorsteps), and they commonly offer traditional Easter foods and treats to the priest and accompanying parishioners as they receive the blessing
I find it funny how all the countries in the copying section of Australia were once a part of the UK. They aren’t copying you UK, they’re reusing old ways!
Good ol' colonization right 😅 I'm french and i recently found out about a Latino-American tradition for Epifany (February 6th) called "roscón de Reyes" = the King/pastry. I was surprised because we do almost exactly the same thing in France, with a different kind of pie, and i thought we were the only one. Turns out Spanish and Portuguese people do it too and colonizers brought it to South America
Happy Easter! Here in Brazil it's tradition to give your loved ones a big chocolate egg, that is normally hollow and can be filled with extra candy, i think it's very fun, but idk if other countries do it
I love that tradition. We do it in Greece to but we don't put the extra candy in the hollow egg we but it in a basket with the egg and other dow made pastries . We also don't have Easter till May this year cause since Easter is a moving celebration it comes later this year then the others 🐇🐇❤❤❤
@@v1k1rito30 Yeah it's really lovely. I think it actually comes from Austria the chocolate egg think but I'm not sure. Brazil at Easter sounds amazing too 🏵️🏵️🏵️

As a Australian i can agree we always have hotcross buns on easter. The shops literally bring out easter decorations and hot cross buns in February for some odd reason

In Poland on mondays there is a tradition similar to that from Hungary- they throw on girls and women a bucket of water and it's called "śmigus dyngus" or "lany poniedziałek "

There's actually a myth here in Greece about a woman that had eggs, and it was when Jesus came back to life. She didn't believe it so she said if it's real, the eggs will turn red.So they did and now I lose in every battle😀👍
FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW : Easter is the English word for "Pascha" (Pessa'h in Hebrew) , a Jewish and Christian holiday. Jewish people celebrate the time their people escaped Egypt after being enslaved by Pharaohs for years. It became a holiday for Christians too because Jesus Christ was crucified and died the friday before the Pessa'h celebration and, according to the Bible, came back from the dead on that day.
I think Omar in the Easter bunny costume is so freakishly wholesome for some reason. Great video regardless though.
