My meter sounds like someone's tapping on wooden crate with a drum stick once per second when someone showers, or when the washer is going. Is this something to be concerned about?
I don't trust the testing part .... our meter was replaced, and it felt like we were paying a bit more for water with the old meter.... I was looking forward to the bill with the new meter ... but nothing changed as they were still estimating our water usage .... checked the meter and this new meter was stuck ... never registered any water usage .. called the city and got it replaced again .... water bill is now looks good.... however this video shows all the testing and bla bla bla .... l don't think so....
Correct or it is 9448875.5. We can see the 7 but it is unclear if it is a 6 moving to 7 or a 7 moving to 8. But you read the rotating pointer correctly.
I'm no expert, but I disagree. I have an old style like the last meter shown, my bill has been crazy, Turned everything off, no leaks. I turned on one faucet, not even all the way on and that little black spinner dial, it was flying. I was like what the heck! So me and the town I live in are having it out. two parents and child, water bill is 80-130 a month. Parents are only home later in the day because of jobs. No pools, nothing. I have a question, can an old style meter be tampered with to read faster? To show more water usage?
Could be an issue with billing system. Some meters read in volume rather than gallons and or they may have it in the system as a meter that reads in 100 gallon rather than tenths….
I had that problem once. It was a misread by the meter reader and they fixed the error. I was pretty shocked when I first got the thousand dollar invoice. Anyways, as the man in the video says, they will test your meter if you ask. No need to be at war with the town.
I wouldn't trust a person like this to check my meter for proper calibration. He has already made up his mind that it's never the meter that is the problem. An absolutely absurd video.
Being in the business, I can tell you he is correct. He probably could have explained it better by saying that as the meter goes bad, it goes bad to the customers advantage…. Not to say they can’t have other issues in the billing system tho.
@@andrewsims7182 Correct. The great majority of the time, when the meter is bad, it is because sand or something got the meter stuck, so it stops moving.

But very important to note that that meter is in cubic meters, others are in gallons or 100 gallons or 100 cubic feet.

Yeap, they have no idea , it's mechanical and they do read off, but no way are they going to tell you that,
