  • Demonstration of changing the orientation of the register display on a Neptune T10 water meter. Simply pop the plastic pin through and twist the register off. re-orient the display to the desired position and re-insert the pin. DO NOT DO THIS ON YOUR CITY METER.

Does anyone know where to buy a new pin?

I just bought a Neptune NSF 61 at a yard sale for pennies just because it's heavy, I'm building a pond, and it looks like solid brass. I probably won't even use it but the mystery to me is, how does a meter attached to the top even work? There is no fitting at the top where water would flow to the meter to be able to read pressure. The top area must just be a spot where a meter is mounted. Is a splitter from the water outlet used to feed the meter so water pressure can be measured?

There is a Magnetic Coupling. That means there are magnets on a spinning object in the brass meter body's measuring chamber. Those magnets then make metal objects in the register spin at the same speed.

You need to put in a new pin for the meter

Could you tell me why my meter dial is flowing backwards?

@@bobami5331 we actually had it installed the right way, we had some issues with backflow and there was some sort of siphon occurring and it was causing the meter to flow backwards haha had to respond to that cuz I don’t wanna look stupid! But thanks for answering me brother !

My understanding is the meter CAN'T register counter flow at all- instead, it will merely not progress.

There is only one reason for this. Water is flowing backwards through the meter. While this will make a mechanical meter's register count backwards, any sort of pulse output driven digital display or transceiver will treat these as forward flow. To prevent this from happening you should install a check valve.
