Hey Nick great bit of information in that video ive got a My16 Colorado had it for nearly 3 yrs now and have been contemplating about putting a unichip for a long time now but never put one in as getting miss information from alot of people but your video has just confirmed what i always thought as in warranty and servicing so i know what ill be doing in the coming weeks thanks for the great videos always look forward to watching them and catching up on great info from you Cheers
Hi Nick - sounds like the M-UX is significantly improved. Love to hear your thoughts off road and towing. It looks like you own or work at Coolum Motors - pity I'm in VIC! Thanks again mate - good, informative video. Cheers
Hey Benny! It drives soo well now and has bucket loads of torque. I havnt installed a towbar just yet, but its definately on the list. Offroad it is great! The Idrive paired with the Unichip and there is soo much power and torque on tap when you need it with great throttle response. I work at Coolum Motors and my boss is good enough to let me use our work equipment on the weekend for my videos 😊 Cheers for the comment!
Looks like the go. The stock 430nm @ flywheel tune curve does have a real de-tuned shape about it. OEM maximum transmission load spec is 450nm so mod tune takes that well over that. Will be interesting to see how they hold up long term.
Hey there nick! I Just happened to watch about catch cans recently and they seem to be quite important. Would you recommend it? Or you might wanna make a new vid to explain this further. Thanks very much in advance
Can’t wait for it @lowrangenick. Anyway we were driving to noosa last year testing the mu-x, if only i have known you were from coolum i would have dropped by in your shop.
Hi Nick. You vids are very informative. I have a question. How reliable is the MUX mechanically now you have chipped and remapped it? I have an MUX also, but have heard they will break cv's fairly easily.
Thanks Kelly! It is still very reliable, i havnt had issues with cvs. I think it's mainly people with big lifts and 33's that have issues with cvs breaking and tierods bending 😊
Do you meen the map select switch? With the numbers and up and down buttons? If so it is to change between 5 different engine mapsets from standard right through to the max power tune 😊
If you were concerned about warranty issues, and you could be bothered removing the system before dealer servicing / inspection, would there be any trace in the factory computer that a piggyback chip had been installed?
Great question. The answer is no. There would be no trace at all. The unichip just alters the sensor voltage signals to the ECU to in turn increase the outputs. But it is still working within the ecu's paramaters. So it is completely removable 😊👍🚀
@@brianc9159 Hey Brian! For every vehicle the manufacturers have a torque and power figure that the Engine puts out. That is measured at the flywheel of the engine not to the rear wheels of the car or 4wd. You can loose up to 30% of the power and torque through the drive train ie. Gearbox, transfer case, rear diff, axles then to the wheels. So all vehicles power figures as listed by the manufactures should be taken as an at the flywheel measurement. Hope that makes sense! Also in my case fitting the larger diameter tyres will again further decrease the power and torque coming out the rear wheels. Cheers :D
@@brianc9159 Sort of similar. The manufacturers measurement is at the flywheel of the engine were as we are measuring it on our Dyno at the rear wheels :)
Hey Nic, got question, you installed this unichip and then 6 months later you put ecu shop super touch 4. Is that cause unichip was no good or other reason? I’m looking into getting a chip for my 2015 lamb Dmax
Hey Matt, i have run the unichip and ecu shop super 4. If you want loads of power and torque go the super 4. If you just want a small increase in power with lots of different maps then the unichip is good for that. Cheers 😊
Hi Nick, does not say what the original numbers were, is this for the 130kw, 380nm, 177ps vehicle? I have the new 2018 MUX 4WD with those numbers. Can I use the same Kit?
The Unichip is for the 2018 Isuzu Mu-X with the 4jj1 engine 3.0L Turbo Diesel. You might need to email Unichip and ask them if they make a kit for your vehicle.
The Factory engine output of the mu-x is 130kw and 430NM at the Flywheel. There is up to a 30% loss of power and torque through the drive line. That is why the power output at the rear wheels on the dyno is 89kw and 380NM.
Great video.
Btw it's a good idea to disconnect the battery before unplugging the ecu. You probably did, but didn't put it in the video
my first thought also.

Thats awesome! Glad i could help 😊
nice results I always tune my diesels and turbocharged road cars . but this is also the reason why I will never buy one second hand.

Thank you very much 😊😊😊
Great video thanks, thinking of getting one as I can take it out if I have a warranty problem.

Great video mate what was the rough cost of the q4
Thanks alot 😊 $2500 Installed and dyno tuned for the unichip Q4 and 5 Map select switch 😊👍
Great Video what a beast, whats the box on the dash? Sorry not on the dash on the windscreen.

Sorry I was talking about the gadget on the windscreen?
@@Gomezhrt Ahh ok! Its an EDS Scan gauge. You can use it to read and clear codes and read out live data from your vehicles OBD2 port :)
but why did you want to install a tuning box in your vehicle? will it affect the engine and transmission life?
To increase the power and torque output and fuel economy. It wont effect the engine or transmission life at all. Cheers!

I live in fitzroy crossing kimberly, closest dyno is darwin 1700km away, wish i coukd chip my mux but with out a dyno it seems like a pointless idea!
Nicely done mate.
Thanks alot 😊
hey Nick...........im confused, i thought these cars put out 130kw @420 standard? like i said before im happy with the Idrive....cheers
sorry 430nm

Nick finally found pedders can do a GVM UPGRADE no one else will touch the GVM
THEY will supply all certificates needed

I was looking for more power and torque. The ecu shop super 4 enables much more adjustability than the unichip.
Hi Nick
How come you chose to put a uinchip in to the mux. I have a 2016 mux
Does it have the option to delete the EGR

How much for the uni chip
Looking Good!
How much did you gain?
Hello.
My car Isuzu MUX 2.5 .. I wanna know if there is a unichip programs for it.
Im not 100% sure sorry. You could talk to unichip directly and see if they do make a unit for that model. 😊👍

have you got a link Nic where i can purchase online?
You can purchase them through unichip australia website. If you chuck that in Google it should come up. You might need to call them though.
does it void warranty?
@@johnbrydon1287 Only if the unichip is the direct cause of a component failure or issue.
Shit that sounds technical lol
haha its not realy that technical :P
