i have a 1982 s over d small date but under 10x the 8 has two s's printed on it and the 2 appears to have doubling making it look like the large date 2 any advise if this is a valid error
ok I have that 1776-1976 Eisenhower coin it has no mint mark i believe but there is some junk below the neck I don't no how to remove the junk to make sure there is no mint mark
couldn't tell you. I focus on U.S. coins. particularly error and variety coins. I know very very little about ancients. I do know there is an ancient coin website that you can look them up...but I do not have a link. so if any other viewers know of a link please post it.
I have a 1970 quarter that is only about half the thickness of a normal quarter, but the same size diameter. It looks like the two silver sides were pressed together, without the copper core, and the outside edge of the quarter is bigger on one half, then on the other. I've never seen or heard of another one, and can't find anything like it, online ?
Steve R. unfortunately no. What you have is a Philadelphia minted business strike. on earlier dimes they didn't put a mint mark on the ones from Philadelphia. The proof dimes on the other hand should all have an s.
why the legality issue on ownership, or are you relating to the usage of coins with slight differences-and potential confusion with any counterfeit equivalent
MrVidification no certain coins were ordered for destruction, so the only way surviving examples could exist was if they were stolen and smuggled out. you I'll not get in trouble, but owning a coin you are not supposed to, then the government seizes it and destroys it.
Coin Opp Thanks. I wonder how that destructive process works and how well, especially when it comes to coins. I have had more than a few US and foreign coins handed down to me, although if any ended up as rare (highly unlikely) and smuggled as a result, I'm probably quite safe anyway in the UK :) I would have assumed as long as you weren't attempting to use it as legal tender then ownership wouldn't be seen as a big issue
MrVidification I would assume as such but no. recently in Pennsylvania a family inherited their fathers coin collection in it he had some saint gaudens gold dollars that we are not allowed to own. they were worth millions. after a couple years fighting in court....the government seizes and destroyed them.
Coin Opp I suspect their worth alone could have been the real push to make sure the government 'took them back'. If it's the 2011 case (I had to google) then the argument was that they were never officially released by US Mint. Whether that was just the workaround to get them back, who knows. Regardless of value, this would certainly be an unhappy day for any would-be collector. I wouldn't say it was a hobby but I have gathered a reasonable number of coins over the years. There seems to be a great deal of very old coins out there to collect for anyone with a metal detector and reasonable amount of time on their hands
would be hard with out pictures. the Morgan dollars you mentioned are worth at least current silver spot weight. depending on condition, minting, and year they could be worth alot more. as for the Eisenhower dollar it's worth at least a dollar. if uncirculated then more...but once again without knowing condition it's impossible for me to give u values. you can always email me photos at darinjermagic@gmail.com and I will gladly give you my opinion.
+Penuel Bickley it was minted in Philadelphia (no mint mark for Philadelphia minted Lincoln's 1909-2016) if it's silver in color most likely it's been plated...which is much more common then you would think. But not always the case sometimes it's a wrong planchet mint error.
a rebuttal dealer is a good place to start. Facebook has lots of coins groups, some you can sell in other groups will help u with what you have. also ebay, and if they are high dollar and certified then heritage coin auctions.
i have a lot of old coins but how can i sell it please help me i got 1912 gold indian coins 5 dollars boston made and also a lot of 1cents canadian dollars from 1970s to 2006 and also a lot of us dollars
I have a 2014 p quarter that. has no copper on the edge. I've looked at it with a 40x loop and an endoscope and can't see any copper. Found it looking for silver in quarter rolls. is it rare or SD something that happens?
Yerzon Gutierrez ten cents each. The dime in the video is a "proof" dime. Proof coins are struck solely for collectors. The dimes you find in pocket change are "business" strike coins. they were made for circulation.
Lorenzo Garcia not really. but if you'd like to send me an image my email is darinjermagic@gmail.com. I can give you a better evaluation if I can see it.
+Emmanuel Peguero 1cent. It's a common Philadelphia mint. The 1990 no s is only on a proof coin. Proof coins are not the ones you have in your pocket. Those are business strikes.
+Djrex Op if u found it in your pocket it's not a no s proof. Proof coins are specialty coins made by the mint for collectors. They are sold in proof sets in limited numbers each year. Proof coins have more detail, a different finish, and a wire rim. Once you have own one proof coin you will never mistake a business struck coin found in your pocket for a proof coin ever again .
+Djrex Op coins that left the mint illegally are illegal to own. If something is stolen and you are in possession of it..It's a crime. Same with coins. The coins that are illegal to own were not allowed to leave the mint. Only way they got out was to be stolen. So if you own one...They will come take it
that would be a counterstamp, and no. no extra value. on some older coins there are valuable counterstamps, but on modern coins like your they are more considered post mint damage.
i agree. and i also just noticed i listed the 1975 no s dime as a no p. smh.. well i made this one short for the purpose of luring people to the channel to hopefully browse other videos...so more of a teaser video then anything.
+David Cruz a common circulated 1930 wheat cent is worth about 5 cents. Uncirculated examples are worth a few bucks to a hundred bucks depending on condition.
hi nice video we have a 1990 no s but i dont know where to sell it because were here in the phillippines. and we also have 1992 but it is wide am it is the same value of the close am?
+Tino Rodriguez yes. Obvious at least worth a nickel... Lmao. 1919 is worth anywhere from a couple bucks in lower grades and can be worth hundreds uncirculated... All depends on condition...but yes its worth a least a couple bucks.
I have a few coin and I want to sell it but I don't its accursed price for different publishers. would u help me! Lincoln one cent 1962(no mint)1983(no mint 3 & 8 large)1990(no mint).
David Cruz proof coins are special minting specifically for collectors that the mint puts out every year. proof coins have more detail and a different finish. the coins in your pocket are business strike coins... meaning they were made for circulation.
Ashleigh Singleton if you found it in pocket change then it's a common Philadelphia minted Lincoln cent. Philadelphia doesnt use a mint mark on Lincoln's...untill 2017. the 1990 no s is a proof coin. proof coins are made specifically for collectors and are sold in limited quantities in sets. they have more detail, a wire rim, and a different finish.
romone james Yes sir!!! Depending on it's condition and if the error is prominent, seen with the naked eye. You can fetch up $1,000 for Circulated condition - $100K++ B'Uncirculated++.. Hope that helps, excellent find. Good luck and do your research before you speak or show to anyone, I suggest you buying a jeweler's loupe about $10-20 for a a very solid 20/30x magnification, also take pictures... of the doubling or multiple strikes.. If any?? Cherry pickers, look it up and find your coin and make comparisons.
I have a dime from 1966 with no "p" "s" or "d" on it. I also have a Mercury dime from 1936 with no "p" "d" or "s" on it either. Are these rare and how much are they worth.
Nick Moyer no mintmark means Philadelphia or p. On earlier dimes they didn't put a mintmark on the ones from Philadelphia. on modern dimes they have a P. The 1936 is worth a couple bucks. It's 90℅ silver and a mercury dime. the 1966 unless it's uncirculated....spend it....it's worth 10 cents. lol

Hello, I have a misprinted penny from 1957... Is it worth anything?
I have a 1990 penny with no mint mark, but it also looks silver. Thoughts?
+Penuel Bickley it was minted in Philadelphia (no mint mark for Philadelphia minted Lincoln's 1909-2016) if it's silver in color most likely it's been plated...which is much more common then you would think. But not always the case sometimes it's a wrong planchet mint error.

Have you ever seen one? In a stack of quarters it looks silver but obviously it isn't i was dumbfounded to get it
u know what I miss read your comment. I thought u had one missing it's clad layer. if there is no copper showing I'd hace it tested for silver
