    Just watched your video today. Good to see another fellow South Dakotan enjoying Lectric e bike. We have bought four of these bikes in the past 2 years! We are 70+ years old and found it a little hazardous to get on and off the original higher middle version bikes so we bought two step-thru 4 inch fat tire Lectric e bikes. I put over 600 miles on the original bike in a year and over 900 miles on the step-thru in 2021! We live in Sioux Falls, South Dakota so usually do not ride from mid November through March because of the cold winters. We LOVE our bikes and I enjoyed your excellent video.

    I ordered the cargo package when it first came out. It was delayed due to quality issues. When I did receive it the welds were terrible and the headlight tab was welded on 2 sides but with no weld penetration and it fell off in my hand. After many photos and emails, Lectric sent a second cargo package to me. Unfortunately the welding was not significantly better. To prevent heel strike I have to put the rear rack "sideways" and as far back as possible. The mounting holes are offset so this can be done but it makes the bike to wide to fold. In hindsight I would look for something different. Also the free panniers they sent do not fit properly over the rear rack. It is to narrow.

    Lots of useful information in your review, very nice!
    I find the cargo package useful and worth the price. Mine came welded and finished flawlessly. They’re a lot more rugged and sturdier than I thought they’d be. I can understand why they’re priced as they are after installing them.
    The smaller front basket fits my day cooler perfectly. I also added the Lectric Panniers under the rear cargo rack for carrying smaller items and tools. It too seems reasonably priced and very useful.
    Mine came with the suspension seat package and I have nothing negative to say about it. You can’t expect a whole lot from a $100 package, but I’m surely not disappointed with it.
    The Lectric lock didn’t quite suit my sense of security either, so I swapped it out with the Bordo Granite X that I had on my pedal bike. Again, you can’t expect much for its cost and it might be suitable for others.
    I feel Lectric hits the mark as far as value and quality with their products that’s suitable for many.

    It's true, the Lectric XP 2.0 is a pain to carry when it's folded. I bought this ebike to do some occasional multimodal bus trips, and my first time is probably going to be my last time unless I go on a special, longer trip. You have to bear hug this ebike with 2 hands when picking it up.

I like the idea of the hydraulic brakes and beefier tires, but the seat height is a bit higher and recommended rider height is 5'2" and I'm 5. With carpal tunnel the seat to handlebars is an issue, but I can look into an upgraded handlebar that sweeps forward. Interested in your experience.

    So far so good for me. I like the alarm idea, definitely must get one. I did not like the folding lock from Lectric. My son said I should have gone with Kryptonite. I put my own small basket on the front to hold my water bottle and phone. I like your phone holder better. I would also like to have a bell or horn to alert others. I mounted mirror I bought on handle bar upside down, yes I have to look down but it works for me. I also have mounted trailer to bike to take babies (pups) for ride. @@lahawk7410 Yes you can pedal without the assist or throttle. I actually like starting off on 1st level of assist. I don't wobble as much. I have issues with balancing. I do not recommend pedaling when you go around a corner, the assist will kick in and its too fast for cornering. You will get the sting from working out on this bike, just use a low level of assist. Hope there's a helmet law there, always wear one please. Gloves too, for if you fall your hands are the first to hit the ground. It is fun and a great mode of transportation. Since it is mounted to the center of the frame/handlebar post, while turning, when turning the basket of course stays straight, while your wheel, turns, truly an unusual Optical Illusion. I regret buying the baskets, but the front rack is a must for me. The baskets just limited the volume of what I could carry, we're way heavier than they needed to be, and required that I still use another container within the basket to prevent small things from falling through the cracks. A wire mesh basket that is easily removable without tools would have made more sense. I just use varying sized bungee nets to secure my cargo.
    I also regret buying the Lectric side view mirrors. I couldn't see anything useful out of them. It was either my shoulders or too far to the side. So I bought a 3rd party bike mirror that mounts in the end of the handlebar, and I took a knife and carved out a hole for the handlebar grips to make it work. It's also a much larger mirror than the Lectric mirrors.
    The Lectric XP 2.0 is great, just not most of their accessories.

      @lahawk7410 Рік тому

    The bike is solid and my Ebike conversion went great. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Very smooth ride at 30mph with no problems (135 miles ridden so far). The picture is a bit deceiving - there is WAY less space in the center of the frame than it shows. The suspension connection takes up the entire thing. So I needed to attach my battery on the bottom of the frame and my controller on the top. Instructions for assembly were lacking but honestly it wasn't too hard to figure out even though I have very little bike knowledge. Watched some youtube videos on adjusting the disk brakes but that was it. Still, I am loving it and very happy with the purchase.

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  Рік тому

      The baskets will be fine, the racks are what you need to consider. They are what have a weight limit, not the baskets.
      The rear rack on the XP 2.0 has a weight limit of 75lbs, while the front rack has a weight limit of 30lbs.
      So really your pup is right on the line for the front rack, but completely clear for the rear.

      I personally haven't seen reports of rust specific to the Lectric XP but living near the ocean definitely adds some maintenance. We typically spend time in Florida every year and just make sure to clean our bikes frequently. Also a good idea to inspect the bike frequently to catch rust before it gets too bad.

    • @1PotatoeMasher1
      @1PotatoeMasher1 2 роки тому

      Make sure it has good paint, lube the chain regularly, keep certain points greased and give it a good rinse/wipe down every now and then on a sunny day then let it dry out in the sun for a short time. If the paint gets a big Knick in it or road grime builds up in crevices rust can form. Maintenance will keep it from ever getting bad if it forms at all, some bikes may need more frequent maintenance. Consult your local bike shop for specific concerns and questions about your bike.
