I love this set. One of the best of the year, honestly. The alternate builds aren't that good, but it makes up for it with the modularity of the main lighthouse. Speaking of which, I'm a bit disappointed you didn't fully show that feature off (the instructions and back of the box gives several different examples). With a few homemade variants I've come up with myself, there's more than half a dozen really nice-looking ways you can make it look different. It's a unique and very exciting feature I'd love to see in more Creator sets moving forward. Wish you'd had highlighted that aspect more in your review, this set deserved it.

I believe that the last light house was better, you could actually reflect the light off of some reflective stickers, and then spin those so the light could be directed anywhere like a real lighthouse.
The buildable animals keep on getting better. From the moose in the log cabin, to the bear in the vacations getaway, to the orca in this set. The animals are ally good

Jang, you missed another part of modularity of main model - you can use Lighthouse pieces and swap them with roof! So you can make a complety different buildings! Good set, but the other models look... weak. They have so much nice pieces, that I belive everyone would build something nicer :D! And price? IT HAS LIGHTBRICK(which shouldn't be that expensive nowadays anyway.)
pro tip: use legos buy replacement bricks service. You can buy the sextant at least for .42 cents. the painting isn't there for this set but I'm sure you may be able to find it in another set. and a printed tile piece like that is under .50 cents.
I love how Jang knows literally everything about the real life version of what he is reviewing. Like did he really know what the top fin on the whale was called or did he look it up.
The "boathouse", that has a bed thats too small and a "kitchen" that only has a mug and "something", reminds me a few places I stayed at in Europe on a budget, hehe. So maybe its accurate. :)
I think the light house is great to build, customize, and then place on a shelf. It looks great but it doesn't have the best play features. The RV set has a lot of great alternative builds and is better to play with but doesn't look as good on display.

I actually kind of like the small house boat, to be honest it's the most interesting thing to me, but that's probably because this set doesn't interest me too much, I was more curious about the camper and the treehouse creator sets.
Wouldn't those seagulls that are perched up on the house look better if they had two those 'tooth' 1x1 modified plates in place of those barb elements? I think so.
Very undecided between this and the tree-house... Would be the first time I buy a Creator set: usually I'm not sold on them, these two are the first ones I like!
Definitely prefer the original 5770 Creator Light house. I don't just prefer I think it's flat out superior to this one. Not in the lighthouse build but in all 3 builds from 5770 are nice

Often with orcas, the dorsal fin is quite tall, so in this case Lego got it right.

I like that the Orca doesn't have the "free willy" collapsed dorsal fin. It means he is a happy, healthy wild Orca. :)
Actually, the bent or "collapsed" dorsal find has nothing to do with the health, happiness, wildness or captivity of a killer whale. Google it:)

More Tecnic connector pieces could be used to make the base more rigid, they only seem to give two for each side, add more and it should help..
I skipped this set, but I love the idea of a boat house.
